I think most parents with young children will agree it’s hard to find a place with good food that can accommodate a toddler without making you feel like you are disrupting the place. Katana delivers on both taste and a being a family restaurant! Thank you for the friendly service, yummy food, and giving us a place to enjoy a night out with the kids!

OHMYLORD! You have got to try the ka-bang shrimp! It’s my fave! I always get that and the beef skewers. The meat is so tender! Love the sweet carrots and the hibachi rice is the business! I come here anytime I’m in the area! Sh! t is delicious!

Katana has always been a favorite for us, but after relocating, we haven’t had the chance to come back for nearly a year. Last nights meal was just as wonderful as we remembered. The service here is alway excellent as is the food. The 5 kinds of sashimi was wonderfully fresh… And all of our sushi rolls came out beautifully decorated and tasted just as good as it looks. The scallop and shrimp katana plate was devine as was the kabang shrimp appetizer! I just wish we were in town for another night as I would eat there again. A highly recommended restaurant.

This Japanese restaurant has been Americanized to the point that it should be considered«Japameri» cuisine. Very Disappointed. Their was nothing overtly wrong with the food EXCEPT for some overcooked sliced candied carrots that they called«sweet carrots». Just ’cause sugar goes into ice tea to become«Sweeeet Teeea» does not mean that everything has to get a shovel full of sugar to make it palatable! The restaurant runs under the premise that the food is healthy. the health pitch being all over the menu. Alas, i think boiling carrots to the point they are good for nothing else other than pureed carrot soup then adding sugar is a far cry from healthy. perhaps the chef or owner needs to consult with health conscious individuals? I didn’t run out hating the place but Not One Thing would make me consider going back. TERRIBLY hospitality too … if their was any.

I placed an order to go. A large amount of food at a reasonable price. two different orders of two different things still tasted about the same — so wasn’t all that impressed. The rice was dry, but the noodles were ok, the sauce that came with the teriyaki chicken was rather odd and unexpected — it was more like a sirachi sauce. But it beats getting fast food and it beats stopping at Walmart for food

Poor Customer service its a shame there are not that many sushi places around and the food is pretty good but, when the service is terrible then what DOYOUHAVE?

I’m not going to leave a lengthy review. Food was wrong the first time it was brought out. Second time it was cold and I don’t mean luke warm, I mean COLD and the vegetables were nearly raw. The waitress didn’t come back to our table but once and we waited a good while just to have someone else stop by to fill our drinks. Our waitress sat across from us bundling chopsticks so she could clearly see we needed assistance. Did she care? Nah. Needless to say, this was a horrible experience and I will never go back.

The food here was fresh, delicious and pretty cheap! The only think I didn’t see in any of the other comments that shocked me when I went is this place is not fancy by any means! There is a drive through window, not much decoration, and definitely not a Japanese Steak House like I was picturing! Although it was very different than I imagined it was just as good if not better!

They have a nice selection of sushi rolls and a buy 2 get 1 free deal on sushi rolls at lunch(and all day on Mondays). The service has always been good, and there is a drive-through for picking up to-go orders. If you are dining in at peak times, service can be slow, but they are still good about checking on you and bringing drink refills. We’ve never been disappointed in the food or the service.

No joke the best food I have ever had in my life. Don’t pass this place up. I would eat here everyday. I’m not kidding. Get the carrots.

Sushi rolls were awesome I had the Crunchy California, the Philly, and the Tempura Shrimp roll. Lunch special was buy 2 and get your 3rd roll free. The service was great and they went above and beyond making hot mustard, getting the extras, and making Moms hibachi to order with no broccoli.

This is my go to Japanese spot in Salisbury. If you’ve checked out any of the other Japanese restaurants, you know that when you eat here there is a certain freshness you get when eating their food. It doesn’t have that old frozen and cooked taste. This is also the place that got me eating and still trying Sushi. I’m just starting to dive into the Sushi world thanks to this place. Now when i’m out with friends who want to go to a Sushi restaurant, I don’t frown. I give it a try! This place is actually right around the corner from my apartment and I go so much that when I call the girl that answers knows my name and generally knows my order unless I decide to switch it up on her. When I pull up they know who I am and they are a very busy place. When I dine in the service is always great and i’ve never had an issue with receiving the wrong order. I highly recommend this place.

Sushi is an expensive genre. The simplicity of Katana made for a good afternoon. The menu offers classic choices and has competitive pricing. We ordered 3 rounds… Enjoyed every one. They were not busy, and we got quality food to match the peace and quiet. A quality stop when you’re out. Don’t stick to traditional meal times when you can enjoy great food on a whim.

Good sushi — great prices, particularly for lunch. There’s also a drive through so you can pick up food quickly. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish at this place. I’ll definitely be going back next time I’m in Salisbury. Some folks in my party also ranted about the katana chicken and veggie hibachi. I will definitely be trying it soon!

I was in the middle of nowhere — Salisbury, NC — so I had very low expectations for an Asian restaurant. Got lucky. Place served solid entrees and good sushi. I’ll be visiting this place for sure again when I’m in town.

Good Asian food, great prices, Great options. Got the crab rangoons(6) and the dumplings(4) as an app. For the price, they were great. Husband got the meat and veg katana style, flavorful, had good texture on the veg I had sushi, dragon and spicy tuna, both very yummy especially for the price Nom nom nom

I’ve read many reviews for this area of NC and some have commented that it’s a wasteland. However, I have been extremely happy with the places I’ve been at and would rate them above average — and I travel the US extensively! The speed of service, the cleanliness of the place, the friendliness of the staff, price and value were all there. Plus the food was excellent! I really don’t know what they could do to improve here — large selection — great taste and I will surely want to return next time I’m back in town! BTW — YES — say yes to the carrots — they were awesome! I wouldn’t be afraid to try anything here — someone obviously knows what they are doing and it’s another mom and pop place — so give them a chance to kick some corporate butt!

This place is great, it is often overlooked due to the location. Going and coming to the VA never really paid attention to it. I decided to stop in and try the food… OMG, the food is outstanding!!! The manager took time to come to my take and converse with me(not in a rush) concerning the nutrition on a couple different items, which was refreshing. The staff is very nice and the place is clean, I will happily take a drive from the University area of Charlotte to eat at this place.

There’s a reason why this place is consistently packed during lunch, because it’s good. They have a pretty large menu of Japanese offerings and sushi. I got the hibachi shrimp with mushrooms and rice when I went for a working lunch. You can pick between the teriyaki and hibachi styles but they also give the option of a third spicy style. They have several different proteins and what makes them unique is that you can either get mixed veggies or single out one you like the best, which is why I got mushrooms. Unlike most place with little mushroom slices, this one has big chunks of portabello mushrooms. They were delish. The shrimp was also very good as was the rice and shrimp sauce. Very reasonably priced it’s my new go to spot in Salisbury.
