Cute little place in what seems like the middle of nowhere. On my last trips to Bear Mountain, Sweet Williams has been my go-to for a pick me up or relaxing cup of joe. Truly a country coffee shop, Sweet Williams is cozy and friendly. A great place for a quick to-go order, or just to sit and relax with a book. I’ve only been able to try their cookies and muffins. But Sweet Williams specializes in a variety of other baked goods too: scones, muffins, biscuits, croissants, cakes, tarts, biscotti, pies, cupcakes and so much more. All around, pricing is very reasonable. A bag of 6 large cookies is $ 5.75. I love their coffee though! They buy and brew their coffee from Barrington Coffee Roasting Company(MA) — really good stuff! Check them out next time you’re in Northwest Connecticut!

Cookies, cakes, coffee, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, coffee etc… I wish had an entourage of 20 so I could buy one of everything to try. I think I need to go back to try the lemon buttercream layer cake.

This place is my savior before or after a hike in the taconics, afternoon at lime rock, or hitting some local estate sales. Their baked goods are top shelf, and they always have a nice variety of muffins, scones, crossaints etc. The coffee drinks are also excellent, using local beans from the Berkshires.

Solid, delicious local bakery with great service. Perfect for morning coffee and an afternoon snack. They have excellent croissants and biscuits as well as moist, chewy cookies and flavorful crumb pies! Centrally located in Salisbury, I would recommend them for anyone with a sweet tooth. The décor is very clean and modern with a touch of country charm, and they have several lovely outdoor tables. In addition they just renovated and the place looks great!

I want to shop locally, but lately I have had a hard time rationalizing spending $ 6 on a coffee. On the register is a sign that they will charge you 25 cents to use a credit card under $ 10, a minor fee, but such surcharges are illegal in the state of Connecticut. I respect that SW is a small shop and credit card service charges could hurt them financially, but I find that dishonest. Also, their baked goods are reasonably priced but their coffee is extremely overpriced for what you get. $ 1 extra for soy or almond milk? I have an issue with that. Soy milk and almond can usually cost the same price as dairy milk, and lasts longer. I feel they(like many places) charge extra just because they can, especially being the only coffee shop in the downtown Salisbury area. Besides all of that, the final coffee, regardless of the price, is just mediocre.

The cookies we purchased were good enough but the service was abysmal. I walked in to the bakery and 3 people managed to not answer my question«Do you have ice tea?» The third time I asked the man standing across the room started pouring one for me but the woman standing almost directly in front me only finally moved to help when the man who poured the tea set it next to the cash register. I purchased a peanut butter and a molasses cookie the would have been better if they had been fully baked. I bought bread at the bakery next door and the service was impeccable and the sweet bun I purchased wonderful, go there instead.

Cute little stop driving through Salisbury on Main Street. Easy parking, slow town, but Sweet Williams was busy when I went! Lots of foot traffic, pet owners coming for the homemade dog biscuits. This business definitely fits the theme of the town, and the surrounding area of Lakeville and Sharon. This country coffee shop brews a tasty iced mocha, and soft-baked cookies of all varieties. When I was there they were filling a few pies before baking(I assume they’re awesome and known for some of the pastries). I settled with a ginger molasses cookie before meeting a friend and I was set for a few hours. I’ll definitely come back when strolling on a slow weekday, it’s a great place to kill some time, or bring a date before hitting some country roads in the beautiful Northwest Hills.(1 iced mocha + large cookie = $ 9)

This place is one of the few places in Salisbury to get coffee. It’s a cute little coffee shop located on Main Street. Its size is probably just slightly bigger than a closet. In addition to the usual coffee/cappuccino items you can also find muffins, scones, cookies, cupcakes, etc. Prices aren’t bad. $ 2.50 for a muffin and $ 1.75 for a cookie. It’s only downside is because it’s so tiny there really isn’t any room for table sitting. However there are four stools by the front winder for counter sitting.

I cannot tell a lie… if I were not married, I would have no serious misgivings about asking one of the rosemary and cheddar biscuits from Sweet Williams to be my wife. So sweet and delectable. This biscuit of mine could then ask an apricot scone and an oatmeal raisin cookie to be her maids, since they too are things of beauty. If you are in the area for a race at Lime Rock, or staying at the Falls Village Inn(read my other review), make sure to grab some treats at Sweet Williams once you set out for the day. It’s a great way to start the morning. Or the afternoon.

A tiny little place in Salisbury that serves fresh pastries and coffee. It only has a counter with six stools so that is pretty much its max capacity. The date nut muffins and blueberry muffins are not sweet and delicious(5 stars). However, compared to the NYC, the muffins are half the size and cost 40% percent more(1 star). So if we average it out, I’ll give it 3 stars.

I can’t believe I’m the first to review this place! I don’t even live in the area(I’m Austin, TX-based), but as a Falls Village native, I feel qualified to review this bakery since I come here every time I make a trip home! Sweet William’s(there should be an apostrophe in the title) is a cozy bakery on Salisbury’s Main Street. As soon as you walk in the door, you can smell cookies, scones and all sorts of delectable goodies baking. Everything on display is fresh out of the oven, and the baker — I believe he is the William of the shop-name, though I could be wrong — is visible as he mixes up his heavenly creations. By far my favorite baked creation from Sweet William’s are the scones. Get any variety; they’re all fantastic. I tend to steer away from scones since I usually find them rather dry for my taste, but Sweet Williams’ scones blow any one else’s scones out of the water. They’re moist, light, airy and always tasty. Do yourself a favor and buy a dozen while you’re at it. For those interested, Sweet William’s used to be located on Falls Village’s Main Street. In order to ward off the curse that befalls almost every business that’s ever tried to make it on Falls Village’s Main Street(with Toy Maker’s Café being the notable exception!), they debunked to Salisbury — I still love them though! Here’s hoping the move is a fruitful one for them; I’d like Sweet William’s to be a part of my visits home for a very long time!
