Yes yes yes! This place is the spot! I was in town for business and came to the Monday morning pilates class with Jenni. I was impressed. The space is clean and the people are friendly. The actual teaching was of a very high standard. The class was full but Jenni made sure everyone knew what they were doing, offered modifications and stayed really focused and engaged. A great way to start my week in SLC.

The instructors we’ve had are thorough and professional. I can’t tell you how many places I’ve been to where they studio claims to offer Pilates, but the instructors are just glorified aerobics teachers who’ve taken some weekend Pilates course and then think they know what they’re doing. As someone who is in her mid-fifties, I can’t sustain the injuries I used to when I was young. My husband and I appreciate having instructors that really know what they’re doing and keep a vigilant eye on your form, etc. I do hope that the studio does remain true to keeping Pilates the priority and spinning/etc. just an added plus.

I took a spinning class here a few weeks ago and was unimpressed. The space is so small I was bumping next to fellow spinners on the bike. There were silent gaps in between songs. The instructor seemed tired and I wasn’t a fan of her choice of songs. If you’re going to have a long climb without much variation, an old monotonous 5 minute song makes it torture. I know my review is on the negative side, but a few tweets could make this place so much better. Add more bass during class. Get a DJ app or improve song transitions. Try using more up to date music with better beats. Try changes in speed in addition to climbs and positions changes. Bring the fun back to spin class!

Great variety of classes during the week, with times to accommodate most schedules. Amanda’s pilates classes are fantastic!

A nice variety of classes and good teachers/employees. However there are much more customer friendly places in town. Avoid buying any class package deals-the rules are very strict and end up becoming such a hassle that I’d prefer not to deal with them at all. Offering class packages and then treating customers who buy them like little thieves is not the way to encourage people to stay. If they don’t want to offer packages, then just don’t. There are plenty of local pilates studios to choose from and others with comparable prices – the same day I walked out of this studio I found another one and bought a 20-class package. I love the teacher and the classes, the studio is welcoming and very happy to have new customers and that makes me feel much better about continuing my support.

I have been going to 9th&9th to get my Pilates fix for the last two years. The studio has become an important fixture in my weekly routine. During the class you get the time and direction to focus on specific areas of your body that are often ignored and instead make them strong. This has made a huge difference in the overall appearance of my physique and level of strength. This is one of the only fitness programs that has remained constant for me over the years. This is because coming to class never feels like big production or intimidating in anyway. It’s time that I get to spend focusing my mind with my body, it’s my Me time. I can go there in any mood and know I’ll always leave feeling lighter and more in tune and tone.

9th and 9th Pilates… how I love thee… First, let me begin by saying that I am a transplant from Houston, TX. A «REAL» big city. :) So I was leery and somewhat apprehensive about finding a Pilates studio in Utah. One that I could eventually call home. After ping ponging from place to place and relocating to Sugarhouse, I stumbled upon this cozy well established studio. It’s everything I had back home… and so much more. The classes are diverse, the staff is well trained and friendly, and the classes don’t break the bank. Since when can you get a semi private lesson at a group class people!!! I especially enjoy the jump board classes and what if does for my bum :) Thumbs up!!!

Intro offer was too much of a gimmick. No extension, no exception. Other local choices are more customer friendly :(

Let me preface this review by saying I absolutely despise all things fitness. This studio may have changed that. I know that sounds like a stretch, but that’s how great this place is! Verena(owner) and Lindsey(instructor) made this such a great experience for me. It’s like they are freaking workout Prozac or something. They both had a way of making me feel more at ease than I would have otherwise. If you’re a beginner this is definitely the place to go! Seeing the muscle tone on people leaving the other classes, I suspect the advanced classes are just as good.

9th and 9th Pilates is the BEST! I walked in on a whim one day in search of a safe way to exercise and strengthen my body while still being protective of an injury. I was a bit intimidated because I’d never taken a reformer class, and my core was not in the least bit strong. I quickly learned, however, that the place was not at all pretentious or boot-camp like. The instructors know my name and offer modifications anytime an exercise hurts my injured arm. The classes are small, so the instructors can make sure everyone is in good form and postural alignment. I walk out of class each time feeling a bit stronger, more energetic and more relaxed than when I walked in. I can visibly see my body getting more toned– longer and leaner(not beefy, thankfully!), my posture getting better, and my arm strength getting back to where it was before I broke it. I wasn’t stoked initially about shelling out money to exercise, but now I am completely hooked. It’s actually fun and so worth the money. The instructors are super knowledgeable and love what they do, the atmosphere is light and refreshing, and every class is different so it never gets boring. Also, they just started offering ‘Barr Evolution’ classes(a combination of pilates, yoga, and ballet) which are surprisingly serious butt-kickers. I can’t say enough good things about this place! Try it!!!
