I usually like beans and brew but I won’t be back to this one. I’ve been to this beans and brew twice now with each time being the same. I’m not sure how they make a decaf vanilla latte taste so bad but both times they have managed to do so. I thought the first time I went and the latte had no flavor at all and tasted like warm milk with a hint of burnt espresso was a mistake so I thought I would try them again today and oddly had the exact same tasting latte. I worked as a barista for years and I’m not sure how they are making their lattes. I pretty much threw $ 20 away at this store.

I stop by this B&B probably 3 – 4 times a week. They are sick of me asking«Is it Mocha Monday?» on every day of the week. :) At least once a week I get breakfast to go with my coffee. The staff is very friendly and prompt with their service. I love their Americano with a bit of cream and honey. And of course their mochas are delicious as well!

I love beans and brew but this one is soo slow! I purposely go out of my way to the one on 3900 and 700 e because they are so much faster. If this one is fast your coffee is probably burnt… people are nice but it’s just missing something.

Love their coffee! It’s a nice place to sit and drink. Staff members are very nice and friendly. They have a very awesome assistant manager.

Pretty friendly bunch here with baristas that ask questions to get to know what you might want or new options you haven’t tried. The food is pretty decent for a coffee shop as well, had the B-Thin today. I’m not a huge fan of Starbucks so this place is a great alternative if you want better coffee and a more relaxed environment. They have free WIFI and it was a great place to finish up some work on the road!

I think the quality has gone down. I got a hit sandwich that was cold and a hot mocha that was luke warm. At these prices it’s funny that the quality is not good and there’s room on the receipt for tip.

This is a nice coffee shop. I like their outdoor seating except that it is impossible to escape smokers. They have ash trays on every table including right next to every entrance. Isn’t that a violation of the law? They have no smoking signs, but they are right next to tables covered with ash trays and zero enforcement.

I had been wanting to visit this new, to me, coffee chain. I finally had time to stop in and had the blended Mr B. It was great, but the whip cream on top, oh boy; thick and sweet with perfect peaks. I was later told it is house made. I’d come here just for the whipped cream, but the blended coffees are great too. I thought it was a little more pricey and fewer options than Starbucks, but quality on the drink I had was better. Will return.

B&B has always been a favorite coffee chain of mine, and I go to a lot of local coffee shops. B&B has the best mochas of all the coffee places I go to, and their drip coffee is rich. This one is the first location I noticed that started doing sandwich/breakfast food, which I think is primarily to rival the Einstein Bros next door. I’ve had a sandwich there and all I can really say is «eh». Not spectacular by any means, but food is never going to be why I go there. Other reviewers have noted that this particular location is very much a teen hang-out zone, which seems to be related to the fact that the employees(at least the evening employees when I go) ARE teens. To me, this isn’t automatically a bad thing. The employees have always been nice, patient, quick to make orders and just overall very chill. The random teens that always seem to be hanging out in small numbers by the front and patio areas seem pretty much harmless, never getting loud or rambunctious and generally seeming to mind their own business. I usually come here to write on my laptop and the ambiance has always worked well for me. Music is almost never bad, couches are comfy, and the people are decent. It’s all anyone can ask for.

First off, it isn’t Starbucks and that means a lot to me. Great place to grab a cup of joe on my way to the office. They always open on time so there is no waiting. Conveniently located right next to Einstein bagel so I can kill two birds with one stone.

I’ve been coming here solely to use their free wifi for the past 9 months, but in all honesty, I don’t like a single thing that Beans & Brews serves. I realize in writing this, this is more of a reflection of me than of Bean & Brews but when it comes to their menu it falls flat. No green tea latte, not so good Chai, and now that the season is over, no more lemonade. And although my old manager swore up and down that their Mr. B’s was the greatest thing on earth(and thus, it was easy to buy her a B & B gift card for every birthday/Christmas/etc), it’s just not my flavor. What I can say is that this location is key — super close to my office and used to be conveniently close to my casa. When I was still living in The Heights, this is the only coffee shop that was open on Sundays. Also important, their staff rocks! They’re the typical group of teenagers that haunt a coffee shop, but they’ve never given me any trouble or forced me to order something when I’ve been there hours on end. Literally, I was there for 3-hours using the wifi just last night. Also, once, I ordered a breakfast sandwich thing and they were starting to prepare it just as I got a call inviting me to dinner. I felt like a jerk asking if I could cancel the food order, and the guy working behind the counter refunded me for it, no problem. In fact, I think he was kind of stoked because he told me that he gets to eat it himself now.

I’ve been here a lot more since last review and I feel like I have a better grasp on the overall vibe of the place. And I’ve seen male baristas and they also have the same kind disposition, so it translates across the gender gap. Everything else holds true – the ambiance, the fact that I can get some work done, and even though I don’t drink coffee, that it seems to do a solid job of putting together a beverage for everyone in a timely manner. I also like the patio. It’s semi-covered and not too blazing hot at night, and a great place to sit and take a meeting. The one thing I have noticed, however, is that this is consistently a place for unsupervised teens to hang out. Whether they’re out front being all flirty with each other, or inside being a little too try-to-be-grownup, it seems like they multiply. They’re not necessarily rough around the edges to a terrible degree, and not blatantly disrespectful, but it just has me wondering if they ever go home? And don’t they have homework after school? And what’s up with the e-cigs? You look as ridiculous vaping as you would with a firestick. Seriously, stop trying to look grownup and you’ll look more grownup. End soapbox(but it definitely affects the vibe of the place).

Had better coffee. We live nearby and have had great coffee and terrible coffee. Worth a shot or two. Great location.

I drink my coffee black so I can affirm that the coffee here really does have, at the heart of it, a good flavor(unlike some large popular corporate chains who specialize in coffee but have no idea that coffee isn’t supposed to be bitter and terrible). They also have amazing blended fraps. The Copper Freeze B&B Frappé really is crack blended up with more crack and topped with crack-flavored whipped cream. It’s so delicious it should be classified as a dessert with a straw. Or crack. Breakfast sandwiches are good too — the B thin is only 300 calories and filling. My biggest issue with this place was just the service. They seem very quick to schluff you out, and not in that we-know-you’re-busy-and-in-a-hurry-so-let-us-do-our-very-best-to-help-you-thanks-come-again-*smile!* way. I got the impression that I was bothering them with my patronage and for that reason, I probably won’t return.

They make hot chocolate that is the perfect temperature and flavor. Yeah! They usually run out of bagel choices(or all of them) by the time I get there late at night, but their muffins are delicious too.

This is my local shop… for years… and I have remained loyal. But, 20 years ago, the service, quality and vibe of the place were all two notches higher than recent years. Their edibles leave alot to be desired. I like the reviewer who said«some days it’s a 5, some days it’s a 1.» Exactly the case. But on a perfect Sunday morning, with the NYT on their porch and a very well made cup of coffee in hand, this place is great.

I love Beans & Brews and was a regular at the SugarHouse location. When I moved to Cottonwood Heights, I was excited to have it nearby, but after several visits there, in both the café and drive thru, the service left much to be desired. I also ordered a soy latte, paid for soy, and received a regular milk latte. Since I don’t have a milk allergy, I simply prefer soy, I chose to accept the wrong latte after driving away rather than dealing with the staff to have it corrected. I probably will only visit other locations in the future.

I popped into Beans & Brews on a recent trip to SLC to do some work and hang with Jeffrey S for a bit… While I can’t speak to the coffee, I must say that I was very impressed with the tea selection here. They had quite a variety to choose from, even for those on the hunt for a tea without caffeine. I went for a large iced tea with mixed flavors which was perfect. I was too full from our breakfast to think about food, although they had some decent looking pastries in the case as well. If you’re in the mood for a drink, a place to work, a restroom(I used that too), this place is A-OK!

Sometimes? 5 Stars. Sometimes? 1. Coffee is life-fuel. It just needs to get into my body. The coffee here is fine, as long as you know how to explain what you want, and as long as you’re willing to pay for it. An iced Americano has one shot of espresso in whatever size cup you order. So if you want 4 shots in a 24oz cup,(kind of like what you’d get in a venti at the green chain monster I adore) you have to pay 75 cents each for the 3 «extra» shots and you’re out the door for a bunch more money than you should be. The service at this location is the most spotty I have ever seen. Some days the people there are stoked. They are quick and cheerful and on top of everything. Other times(unfortunately far more than not) the employees are slow, or too wrapped up in personal conversations to notice customers in line, or talking about how much they hate their jobs, or being pissed off about working on a Friday night, or unfriendly. This is the closest coffee shop to my home, but a lot of days I’m tempted to drive out of my way to avoid leaving while shaking my head.

My friends and I use to skip school and come here. Beyond that fond memory, I don’t have any thing pleasant to say about Beans And Brews. The coffee(cold or hot, served every which way) has always lacked flavor and is downright nasty. I’ve tried many combinations to see if they have some thing delicious, or even satisfactory, and never found one. The bagels are pretty good though… but this is a coffee shop, and so my rating stands.
