This bar has a relaxed armosphere, well priced drinks, a good beer selection and tasty bar food. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick. Great place to watch a game, grab a drink before a movie, or hit up with your friends after work.

Best drinks in town! Bree helped us and was fun and attentive. She recommend we get the irish nachos with fries instead of chips and boy was she right!

Eat at your own risk. Food was not good at all. Unfriendly staff, a lot of very drunk people, three people had dogs. There was a very drunk white guy with beard scruff claiming he worked at the palce as a bartender. So this drunk bartender comes over and talks my ear off about how he works there and this and that, be is totally bombed and inappropriate. He then can see we are annoyed and says«let me buy you guys a round of drinks» to which we say no, and he insists. As we go to leave 10 minutes later, the other bartender stops me to pay $ 13 for the drinks we didnt want, and didnt touch. Wings and a few drinks was $ 75 for a Total Sh*t hole

Stopped in for a beer after a meeting and was annoyed I had to repeat my order 3 times. Maybe the spikes on the bartender’s head disrupted his hearing in some way. Hire some bartenders who care enough about their jobs to understand standard pub speak — a pint is not a big one!

Props to this fine establishment. It’s a complete pain in the ass to come here cause of traffic and parking situation and dealing with the transients but the staff makes it worth it. The tall, dark and relatively handsome dude who’s name tag said«Slim» was a breath of fresh air. Very relaxed and calming. His voice was like purple velvet. And the stacked blonde girl was super nice. I will mos def be frequenting this location.

I have frequented many Bout Times but this one is BYFAR my favorite! Not only do I love that it’s the perfect place to stop for drinks and food before a movie or jazz game. But the service is always top notch and the food never disappoints. Scott is my favorite! He knows my drink of choice and I can always count on him to give great food recommendations. I love living downtown because I love this place! This Bout Time’s where it’s at!

Tried going tonight before our movie as we often have. Our server obviously wanted to be somewhere else and greeted us with annoyance. I asked her if they had any specials(last time a beer we liked was only $ 5). She snapped back, «It’s illegal to have specials on drinks.» I didn’t ask about happy hour because duh, Utah. But every time we’ve gone in there our server or bartender recommends something SPECIAL. We got up and walked to the sushi place downstairs, as I recommend everyone do instead of trying this place. Would’ve given it one star, but the bartenders are usually decent. The TVs and loud music before 7pm have rendered this place barely tolerable in the past. After tonight we’ll stick to the sushi place(which was fantastic, by the way).

Came here after a movie at Megaplex theaters at the gateway, and ordered their sweet chili wings which were unexpectedly amazing! I would highly recommend these. The service was really friendly and fast. Chill place to go for drinks and bar type food.

I’ve been here a handful of times and it’s a fine place. Service is always good and food is about what you’d expect for pub grub. The hamburger wedged in between two grilled cheeses is pretty epic and the Monte cristo was decent. Lots of televisions to keep you entertained when your date starts to get boring. All in all a 3 star bar kind of place.

Big fan of the place. Great to grab a bit before a movie. They do sandwiches and burgers incredibly well, and the staff is always friendly.

Irish Nachos. Seriously, Irish Nachos. I really don’t care about anything else. Service, décor, TVs. .. yeah, whatever. They really don’t matter because… They make Irish Nachos, and they’re freakin’ heavenly. Go order them. Now. Once you do, you’ll understand why this is the best restaurant in the entire world.

I’ve been here enough times that I finally feel compelled to write a review. This place is AWESOME! And by, «awesome,» I mean it’s the only place of its kind in the vicinity. If you want dinner and/or drinks before a concert or movie, this place is a great choice. I’ve never had bad food, or service, at this location. I’ve had wings, sandwiches, fries, pizza and miscellaneous appetizers and they’ve all been good, if not great. This is, first and foremost, a bar. They serve bar food. Stay away from the entrees, and get your fill of the aforementioned items. They have tons of TV’s, so there’s really not a bad seat in the house and the vibe if laid-back and fun. Don’t set your expectations too high, and you’ll be delighted by Bout Time.

I hardly ever give 1 star reviews. You have to make me pretty sad to deserve 1 star. We went to this place last night before going to the king diamond concert. The plan was to get drinks and have dinner before the show so we had energy to headbang etc. it appeared this place only had two workers and one of them was an injured waitress. I did feel bad for her situation except she had a bad attitude. She wasn’t really apologetic for the turtle like service and she wasn’t nice. The whole injury thing would’ve gotten her a 23% tip alone if she’d been super nice and apologetic. The food was disgusting. There’s not much else to be said about it. The fries had been cremated and yet they were cold. You know how that happens? Some jackass over cooked them and set them out and nobody grabbed them for at least 10 minutes. French fries stay molten lava hot for a good 7 – 10 minutes. The burgers we had were unseasoned and looked like ground up mystery meat. It was altogether horribly disappointing to the point where I won’t give them a second chance. We will find another pre-concert establishment to spend our money at. I thought it was worth mentioning I woke up this morning with food poisoning! Fabulous.

Great place to watch a game and drink non-pumpkin beer! I ordered the house honey ale, tastes like nasty natty, but you can’t argue for $ 2/pint! I ordered a local pumpkin ale but it was no Bueno! So I asked for the ale instead, and the bartender didn’t even charge me! The TVs are small but there was plenty of bar space to get a seat right in front of one. The service was fast, the bartenders were very sweet and attentive. There’s a pool table in the back if you don’t want to be around screaming offensive fans like me. I’d def go back if I’m ever in SLC. Cheap beer, TV, and pool… that’s where my heart is.

Question, do you want a drink? No I came to this bar to get naked and dance on you’re bar, no wait, ummm nah I just want to watch others drink. if I have to tell a bartender how to make a drink then maybe I’m in the wrong bar.20 min between empty drink and would you like a drink? Again nah just slap me, I must be in Oz .Food is average, If you play the jukebox with your ap if the bartender doesn’t like your music it’s bumped, so before you come, drink plenty, so your 20 min wait won’t seem so long. nit to mention the rude bartender who was offended because I said you should know how to make this easy drink.

This is one of my favorite places to watch sports. There TVs everywhere and a buncha other stuff on the wall, making it perfect your ADHD customers. The staff is always friendly and beautiful. They even have a guy named Dragon. Let’s be honest, ordering a beer from a guy named Dragon is pretty bada$$. My favorite go to is the Irish nachos. It’s the big middle finger to your abs but it’s worth it. The also have wifi but I’ve never figured out how to use it. I blame the great drinks(SEGWAY!) The have excellent choices on tap and they also have Epic Brewery bottles there. I’m more of a whiskey drinker, and I’ve had plenty damn good manhattans there. All & all, this is great place to watch the game and catch up with old friends and chat. You know, like people used to do before Facebook. Go check em out!

Do not go here for food! As far as a place to grab a drink and watch some sports it is probably great. Tons of tvs and we’ll laid out. But my wife and I went here for a quick bite before a movie and the food was terrible. I’d had fish and chips that were so over cooked it was hard to bite off chunks to eat. Her pizza was pretty much just grease. Do not eat here if you can avoid it. I might go back to watch a game or two but you better believe I’ll easy before I get there.

Through force of circumstances, I have eaten at ‘Bout Time three times. Don’t ask about the circumstances. I didn’t create them. Look, places like this can serve up edible grub, especially if they have a liquor license to numb your taste buds. But the undeniable fact is that the food at ‘Bout Time pretty much sucks. I’ve tasted nothing I couldn’t do better myself. And I swear, some of the servers we have had are suffering from ADHD or a traumatic brain injury. But hey, they got lots of big screens for the big game!

As far as sports bars go, this place has the best TV layout that I’ve found, and that’s pretty much my chief concern when watching sports. During college football season, I was able to walk in, pick a table, and have three screens turned to the games I wanted to watch. Food: Don’t. Like, really, really, really don’t. I mean, maybe the stadium pretzel if you’ve been there for a few hours and need a little something in the belly, but otherwise bring a sandwich in your purse. Booze: Full bar with a good selection of beers on tap. Good prices. Service: You’re kind of at the mercy of the bartenders here. Can be slow, but this is the type of bar where you need to be assertive. If you’re starting to get annoyed that you don’t have a beer yet, hold out a $ 10 or your credit card very obviously at the bar. Should get their attention. Or don’t feel shy to wave at a server or a bartender, even coupled with a, «Hey man, can I get a beer when you have a chance? Thanks!» I’ve always received decent to attentive service, usually from Lindsay or Jason, and they always remember my name. Clientele: Pretty random crowd. Lots of dudes. Lots of regulars. Lots of people not afraid to root loudly for their teams. Lots of people disinterested in sports entirely, just popping in before their movies next door at the Gateway. I’ll be back.
