Trendy place with great ambience and fantastic food. I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the trout. Both were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. Portions are not large which allows you to sample more of the menu. We opted for dessert and coffee after.

This is one of my new favorites. Don’t tell anyone tho this is one of salt lakes best kept secrets. Had the potatoes, steak, lamb and chicken. This place deserves 5+ stars can’t believe I haven’t eaten here before. Super awesome place can’t even say more top 3 in Slc for me.

Delicious food. Everything was bursting with flavor and I couldn’t get enough. Small portions. Some say that’s a good thing but I want a full plate when it costs $ 30. But we’ll definitely be back again and again.

Really good we had the charcuterie board with pickled veggies, pork belly, wild boar risotto, venison and rose ice cream, all very good. Lighting is very dim but eyes adjust after awhile. Also had some alcohol also top notch. Not very many tables probably need reservation. Waiter was good waters refilled frequently. Manager checked on us.

I’ve eaten at a handful of the nicer SLC restaurants & tbh, *haven’t* been impressed — until now. Pallet does an incredible job, offering surprising & delicious touches to a new-American menu & craft cocktail list. Their service is attentive without being intrusive and their cosy(not stuffy) interior creates a nice mood. I’ll be back!

A quiet, quaint, delightful little gem in the heart of salt lake. A small menu, which is perfect for indecisive people like myself. The Waygu Steak was phenomenal and every drink looked great. We ordered every dessert on the menu and Mt taste buds had a party in my mouth! Fun and helpful staff. Loved the intimate and quiet atmosphere.

Found this place right near our hotel. Salt Lake City has some really fun neighborhoods, we have stopped here on now two ski trips. This restaurant has fun atmosphere, friendly service, fun cocktails and great food. We had warm olives, so tasty with the cocktail, we each had salads, they were both so good, I had the beef, perfectly prepared, my husband had the chicken. The whole meal was very good, I will go back next time I am in Salt Lake City.

On our last night in Utah, we decided to dine at Pallet. It had a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The décor was very hipstery…, exposed ductwork, brick walls, wood everywhere, the whole shebang. I could eat cheese 24 hours a day, so we started with the burrata appetizer. It was fresh and delicious, but I really wish it had also been served with some crusty bread. Carbs enhance everything, ya know! For my main, I ordered the wild boar risotto. The meat was amazingly tender and the overall flavor was very good. It was a large portion that I did not finish. My husband had the lamb osso buco. Again, the meat was perfectly tender and the carrot purée was tasty too. Our reservation was at 8:15 on a Friday and the restaurant was very busy. We were seated right away, but I’m not sure that they were taking any walk-ins without a wait. Street parking was incredibly easy to find.

Possibly the best meal I’ve had in my 8 years of living in Salt Lake. No, I’m not exaggerating. The entire experience was great. You walk in, and the lights are dim, the hostess is attentive, our reservations were actually saved and we were lead to our table immediately. The hostess took and hung up our coats for us and we were immediately presented with our drinks. We started out with the Caputo’s Burrata. The cheese itself was excellent. The sauce the cheese was in was absolutely fantastic. My only criticism, and this is on the entire night, is that I feel like the burrata should have came with some sort of carb as a vehicle. Probably some thinly sliced and toasted baguette slices would have been perfect. Cutting it and eating this extremely soft cheese with my fork was slightly less than favorable. Other than that, everything was perfect. I got the lamb shank, and I was able to pull it off the bone with my fork. No knife needed. It was served over a carrot purée which complimented the lamb perfectly. My wife got the scallops, and they were probably the best scallops I’ve had in Utah. They definitely showed up the most popular seafood places in the area. Market Street and Current have nothing on Pallet’s scallops. We finished off with the peach cobbler type dessert, it was fine, but not quite as taste as the rest of the meal. The waitress was nice and even referenced the reservation I made and wished my wife and I a happy first anniversary. Everything here is really hip, meaning they give you a whole history of the building, and how it used to be a loading dock for trucks, and the knicks and kinks can still be found in the cement floor leading out to the bathroom. The old floor can now be found as décor on one of the walls. The checks are brought out in old novels that you can write and leave messages in. In the back they have an old typewriter that you can use and type up notes to leave tacked into the wall. The upstairs is still an opium den from the 40s with Asian prostitutes. I actually think they’re the same Asian prostitutes that were there in the 40s. And in the kitchen you can see where Brigham Young proposed to his 7th wife. Good times. Truly, this gets my vote for absolute best restaurant in Salt Lake as far as my experiences go. If you have a problem with that, you can stew about it on your own because I don’t really care.

Pallet Delivers!!! Let’s start with the atmosphere. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, red brick walls, lifting chains and ventilation windows on the roof top… and a loading dock. Even the lighting shows attention to detail. Pallet gets an A+ for décor and ambiance. Now let’s talk food. First of all, everything I’ve had here has been excellent. Starting with the amazing Yukon Truffle Potatoes for an appetizer. They are prepared to perfection. Soft in the middle and crispy on the edges. The truffle and shaved parmesan cheese will bring a smile to your face. A must try! Gloria’s meatballs are large, a little spicy and delicious… and quite filling. Pork Belly was ok… I’ve had better, but I appreciate the creativity put into the dish and presentation. The baked sea scallops are a great entrée selection as well. They are plump and firm with just the right amount of seasoning, accompanied with lentils, artichoke and shallots. Finally, the cocktails are amazing and the desserts are to die for. I especially enjoyed the butterscotch and chocolate pudding. Everything here is fresh, creative and made with quality ingredients. The service is always attentive, friendly and top notch as well. Thanks, Pallet, for treating us out of towners to a delicious meal in Salt Lake City!

I really like when my trips to Salt Lake City include a stop at Pallet. Their cocktails are really, really good and the staff is really accommodating about skipping dairy to make appetizers vegan. The one main vegetarian entrée is delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy but very cool. The servers have been really attentive when I’ve been here and offer insightful recommendations.

Great place to eat if you’re looking for some fine dining in SLC. Recommend the Lamb for main dish. And Meat Balls for an appetizer. Also cheese platter was very nice. So much more you can choose from as well.

I have to give it up to Jerry, and the staff at Pallet Bistro for creating a one of a kind night. I brought my soon to be fiancé there last night to treat her to a wonderful evening, and I couldn’t have imagined how well they would have treated us. They made us feel like royalty! Every single course that arrived at the table was unique and delicious, which combined with the atmosphere created the perfect dinner that helped usher us into our engagement! I can’t that you guys enough!

$ 98 for trout, scallops, full charcuterie board, glass of wine, and coffee. They focused more on ingredients than over-saucing everything. Probably the best meal I’ve ever had in SLC, including ski trips.

Very fun atmosphere, with lots of repurposed wood and brick. Small but quaint dining/bar. Outside seating is also available on a first-come basis. My partner and I started by splitting the Utah Greens salad. Very tasty with candied walnuts, cranberries, herbed ricotta, and balsamic. My partner ordered the chicken with roasted radishes and peas in some sort of delicious sauce. I ordered(can’t remember the name) short ribs stuffed pillow pasta with asparagus and a mushroom cream sauce. Both dishes were top-notch in flavor and execution! Definitely worth checking out-I would recommend reservations as the dining room could fill up fast.

Angie L and I were due for a date night to catch up on our lives, so we decided to visit Pallet. Upon arrival, it was obvious how popular Pallet was with its unique culture ranging from people who were dressed in suits to those eating alone dressed in jeans and a t-shirt by the bar. I arrived a little earlier than Angie and was offered a seat at the bar while waiting for our table to get set up. There I was greeted immediately by the bartender and was given decent service – had my drinks ordered and given – nothing too spectacular. When seated at the table, it was crowded and dark, so if you have claustrophobia or nyctophobia, I’d highly recommend avoiding Pallet. After ordering our items, the waitress brought all the dishes out around the same time instead of spacing appetizers and entrees out – usually it’s not a big deal, but given how small the table was, all the dishes that we hadn’t finished quickly enough left the table extremely cramped. She was nice though, so I don’t have complaints on that aspect, but it’d be nice if timing was better kept with regards to bringing out the dishes so that we’d have a more comfortable dinner. We weren’t given water refills as frequently as we’d like and the waitress hardly spoke with us. Drinks A Tad Sour($ 12) is a vodka based cocktail consisting of lemon, shrub, Cointreau, and orange bitters. Taste was refreshing and similar to an adult version of lemonade with a thick slither of lemon zest to top for presentation. It was good overall but not something I’d go out of my way to order again. Pabst Tall Boy($ 3). Typical American lager that just about everyone’s tried. It’s half a step above Budweiser and Coors. For the price and can size, it’s great, especially for a place like Pallet. They also cover the can in a brown paper bag with the word«Pallet» printed over. It’s decent, and I’d order it again if I’m looking for a quick cheap drink. Appetizers Parmesan Truffle Fries($ 9) fried with truffle oil, topped with parmesan shreds, and plated with a side of aioli sauce. The fries had subtle flavors overall, but the aioli helped expand its otherwise one dimension. Portions for the fries were substantial and was filling. Chicken Liver($ 11) is lightly battered and deep fried in chunks with tomato, cipollini onions, and chanterelle. The liver wasn’t too cooked and maintained its pink moist center with great natural flavors along with the contrast from the sweet cipollini onions and earthy chanterelle. I also appreciated the crispy flaky batter. Hamachi($ 12) is presented sashimi-style with lemon juice and different herbs and flavors depending on what’s in season. I’ve heard some say that theirs have consisted of shimeji mushrooms, prosciutto, and green peppercorn sorbet, while others say that theirs was presented with shishito peppers, avocado balls, bacon sorbet, lemon, cilantro and chunks of ice. When I ordered it, it was presented well with ice and was fresh and refreshing. I’d like to come back to try the other variations. Entrees Brazino($ 28) is seared and plated over fennel, mushroom, potato, and mascarpone. The skin had a crispy texture with a decently moist center. It was a bit overcooked for my preference. Taste-wise, the potatoes and mascarpone definitely helped balance it out; however, it was borderline too salty to enjoy. Scallops($ 26) were seared and complemented with tomato, lentils, shallots, bacon, and artichoke. I wasn’t a huge fan of the scallops. It cooked well, but the flavors didn’t seem to work well with the salty scallops. The amount of salt in this particular dish overpowered the other flavors surrounding the scallops and it was difficult to truly enjoy. Needless to say even with Angie and my efforts, we were unable to finish both entrees(branzino and scallops) because they were too salty. We originally planned to try dessert; however, after we tried the drinks, appetizers, and entrees, we didn’t want to give them a fourth try with desserts, so we moved our date night down the street to Capo Gelateria. Presentation is beautiful and receipts are placed in a book that welcomes all guests to sign. I appreciate the creativity in details. Pallet wasn’t a great place to catch up at because it was so loud that Angie L and I had to keep asking each other to repeat ourselves and our table was so cramped with all the dishes that seemingly came out within minutes. I think it may have been because we were a party of 2 compared to the bigger 4 – 6 tops that allowed more room per person. Overall, I’ll give Pallet around 3.49 stars because I see areas for easy improvement & judging by how packed it was, I’d agree that Pallet is doing well for its venue capacity, but our experience was lacking in more ways than one. Maybe I’ll come back to try this place again with a bigger party. Tip 1: Make reservations online. Tip 2: If you want to grab dinner with a small party and forgot to make reservations, ask to sit at the bar to skip the wait.

i came here with julie v. and we were excited to try this place out. it’s very noisy in here, so it’s hard to have a conversation without raising your voice quite a bit. this place is also a little cramped, with tables very close by to each other. i started with the drink a tad sour, which i enjoyed. for appetizers we got the hamachi, truffle fries, and pork belly. the presentation for all were beautiful, especially the hamachi, but unfortunately i can’t say the same about the taste. everything was too salty and was way over seasoned. i went through so much water due to how salty everything was. for entrees i got the scallops and julie v. got the branzino. we tried each other’s food and agreed that again, while both were beautifully plated, it was all too salty. we ended up taking a lot of food home and went elsewhere for dessert. our server was good, but she didn’t time bringing our food out very well. since the table was so small, there wasn’t enough space for our appetizers and the entrees when she brought those out. and we weren’t taking super long to eat our appetizers either, our entrees just came out way too fast.

A lot of elements come together here that have a lot to like. Let me give you the short version, and then perhaps we’ll discuss down below, eh? Cool. Here it is: tastes, cocktails, venue, vibe. Bam. Pallet in a nutshell. Here it’s all about the tastes, and as I’ve come to really discover(thanks to Heather K) is that the best tastes are the seafood. That’s a pro tip, and you won’t be sorry if you go for that scallop dish, or any seafood dish. They don’t really tout it, but they do seafood well. Other tastes are good, too, and that’s what you’ll want to do here is taste a little of everything, but hit that seafood. I don’t drink, but my imbibing friends tell me that the cocktails here are quite good. They put some time and energy into them, so if that’s your cup of tea… er…liquor… then you may want to explore the cocktail menu. The venue is named for the old loading dock area. Get it? Pallet? Palate? The owner described their long remodel process, and the very costly(but oh so worth it!) decision to open that skylight up. It’s a little dark and moody by night, but classy and nice by day. A really terrific spot, perhaps a romantic dinner choice, it would make a great date night for sure. The vibe is modern, skating a line on hipster but a little too nice for all that.

Solid dinner menu and loved the inside décor! We tried the pork belly, kale salad and I had scallops. Each dish was delicious. The pork belly was so juicy and loved the chopped fruit. The kale salad was a somewhat teeny portion but flavorful. The scallops were huge and prepared perfectly. The funniest thing was the powdered soap in the bathroom while you pass a typewriter. Very fun!

I’ve been here five times and I will continue coming back. The food, drinks and service are always top notch and this is definitely in the running for my favorite restaurant in salt lake city. The ravioli and short rib is one of my favorite dishes. Had the pork belly app and it was great. The honey ginger vinaigrette really sets it off. The oatmeal dessert is my favorite so be sure to leave room. I’ve had the sour vodka drink and it’s good if you want something sweet. The navigator is much stronger and less sweet.
