Delicious! Very nice and fast! I ordered the chow mien and asked for broccoli and didn’t get any. But it was still really good! I would defiantly eat here again! :)

I waited until the second time I went to Cy Noodle House to write a review because it was so good the first time, I was afraid of saying something too positive and being let down later. Happily, the second visit was great too! You have to look at this place in perspective. A traditional noodle house is a casual place you get a simple meal, noodles in broth with maybe meat or vegetables in it. That’s what they recreate here, but with many choices. At CY you ‘Create Your’ noodle dish and choose between a wide selection of Chinese, Thai, or Japanese noodles, meats and fish, vegetables and several broths to create an original noodle dish specifically to your taste. They also offer more than a dozen traditional Chinese dishes that are not soup or noodles, and appetizers. A few tips I could offer include being very careful of the Schezuan broth(not other Schezuan dishes, just the noodle broth). It is the hottest soup I have ever tasted, and I am not exaggerating. My date ordered this and the server talked her into lowering the heat a bit and she loved it, but to me it was like tasting liquid fire. The shrimp are fried, like tempura. Garlic chicken wing appetizers are amazing here. The staff was really nice. They could tell we were not so experienced with everything on the menu and gave good suggestions. Several of the staff and I think even the chef came to check on us during the meal. Cy is a super casual, inexpensive noodle house where you have the opportunity to create just about any noodle soup you want, and there is something there for non noodle lovers there too.

Totally feelin’ the burn baby. Stopped by for a Tuesday lunch and this place was packed. Good sign. 1) Excellent attentive service more than willing to answer questions and make recommendations. 2) Free spring rolls with Unilocal check in 3) Delicious entrees that were spicy, flavorful, and made fresh to order

I’ve been to this place twice. Once I got the Taiwanese beef noodles which were good! This was before I went to Taiwan and had the beef noodle soup there, so I don’t know how I would compare it now. I’d definitely have to try it again and leave an updated review. If you check in, you get egg rolls on your first visit! So don’t forget to do that. I really liked the sweet and sour sauce it came with. The egg roll was not super special tho, it was filled with some vermicelli and Chinese cabbage. But the sauce made it better :). The second time I came, I got tofu with chili sauce. The tofu was very light and the sauce complemented it well. I wanted something light that day and this hit the sauce. It was seasoned well and it wasn’t greasy or salty. I added a bit of satay because I always like that spicy kick. The waitress was also extremely attentive that day and very friendly. 5 stars for her service! There are so many things on the menu, I’m definitely going to have to come back and try the other dishes. They also give you a punchcard which is awesome :).

I’m trying to not to be subjective, as I see some people left positive impression for this restaurant. I’ll leave just facts what I have been through. 1. A guy was smoking in the front of the restaurant. Then he came in and served food. Don’t know he washed hands or not, but he has smoked a couple of times while we were eating. So doesn’t change anything no matter he washed his hands or not. 2. Egg roll was good. Kungpao chicken was terrible. Chickens were more likely fats. Taste of source wasn’t bad. I would never visit there again of course.

Hey you. Yes, I’m talking to you. Are you one of those people that likes to live life on the edge? Well if you are, then come here and order the caramelized shrimp. These bad boys come fully shelled with head — body — antennas — claws — legs — and tail all in tact. Don’t be that boring person and peel the shell off. Be confident, grab the shrimp like you mean it, bite off the head and enjoy the warm flavorful guts as it melts in your mouth BUT watch out! Those evil sharp antenna like fangs can easily stab you in the gums. Food that is good and dangerous? Say whaaaa?! When did eating get so exciting? And the fun is not even over yet — you still have the body left! Not only do you get to enjoy this delicious dish but your mouth gets a good workout too from all the munching and crunching. Okay I get it — not everybody likes to live dangerously or take big risks. No problem, there are other yummy items that have a lesser probability of injuring you. Go for the sweet and sour chicken wings(sauce on the side), fried tofu(sauce on the side), or hot and sour udon noodles with quarter chicken leg(½ chili oil). Have fun and be safe. –Sailor out

Great spot for noodles. The menu allows you to create your own dish. The staff is very helpful in selecting great combinations. I had the Dan Dan noodles which have big flavor and just the right amount of heat. Nothing is better than freshly prepared noodle dishes. This place is worth a try. Expect to pay around $ 10 for your meal.

I’m only giving this review 3 stars for the food. But I want to be clear it’s not because the food was necessarily bad, it’s more that it didn’t fit my taste and what I was expecting. I got the 2 free egg rolls thanks to the Unilocal app. They were fairly good. I then got a noodle bowl with noodles(spaghetti type noodles per the menu) with spicy angus beef and the bone broth. It was a good size portion of noodles. The meat was incredibly tender but I didn’t like the spicy-ness of it. It was heat without much flavor. The broth seemed nice but was hard to taste with the spice left over from the beef. The folks in the restaurant were exceedingly nice and attentive. I was asked twice if I’d like water while I was waiting for my to go order. All in all I’ll be back to try something different.

This noodle house opened in the Chinatown after the landlord moved his mini-mart operation into the larger Supermarket area. At first, it seemed like they turned the space into yet another Chinese restaurant in this strip mall. They specialize in various Noodles from Chinese cuisine, and now expanded in the regional dishes as well. They share the restroom with Ho Mei next door too, but I had not experience issues with that. Their appetizers were ok. Sesame Balls were a good one to start. They served the Bubble Egg Waffle once, but discontinued it due to a complaint… Free egg rolls had been around since the beginning of their business, just check-in with your Unilocal app, simple as that. They were also one of the better egg rolls I had, even ones I had to pay for elsewhere. Their noodles were the original items on their menu, and I had pretty much tried all of the varieties. The soup noodles sounded good on paper, and if you are into spicy food like me, then you will be a bit disappointed because the soup broth just could not get any spicier for some reasons, and there was always a bitter after taste in it. The dried style on the other hand was much better, as flavor they put in just condense into the noodles, and we experimented with more of Beef Chow Fun style, as well as a dried version of their spicy noodles. Both ways made the dish tasted so much better, and they were willing to redo the dish if you think it tastes strange. To some extends, you have to place some of the blame of yourself as well, since it was a create-your-own noodles. As for their new expanded menu, most of the dishes were from the Szechuan region. It was a much-needed support for the terrible so-called Szechuan food currently serving in this neighborhood. The highlight dish was their Szechuan Spicy Crab, they recommend you order ahead first, since the wait could take some times, and they may run out on a busy night. Quality was one of the better ones in town, and I could tell they did not cut corners with the Dungeness crab like most Chinese restaurants in town do. Spicy Boiled Fish was another good dish to get, while not the best in town, it was better than one place close by. Twice Cooked Pork passed by my benchmark test for Szechuan(or Sichuan properly written) food. If you eat slow… you may consider getting the sauce on the side for the Crispy Tofu dish, since they get soggy after sitting in the sauce for a while. I tried their off-menu item Serrano Pepper with Pork, it actually tasted spicy and flavor was good too, a must try dish for those that loves spicy food. It always amazes me to observe the development and progress for places like CY Noodles turned themselves around from a mediocre noodles joint to an exceptional Chinese restaurant. They listened to feedbacks, and made corrections in where their customers dislike rather than avoid the problem. While they may not have the best food in town, but their services were exceptional, and I cannot stress how many times I mention mediocre services for the countless other Chinese restaurants I dined in just this state alone. It was truly a rare trait found in Chinese restaurant.

They don’t mess around here. This is a place that knows what they do well and they do it extremely well! They don’t call it CY Noodlehouse for no reason. The Dan Dan udon noodles Szechuan style with the spicy beef, Napa cabbage, and Bok choy was absolutely AMAZING! The varied texture between the noodles, beef, veggies, sauce, and peanuts along with the spice level was… Wow, just wow… Wow. The texture of the braised pork belly was perfect, a little on the bland side but with the chili paste tasted so good. The twice cooked pork was interesting and savory. The taro smoothie was great, but I’m not so much a fan of the popping blueberry boba. I was very sad to hear that they no longer offer the bubble egg waffles here. Fabulous service ! Our waitress and the rest of the staff we very kind and welcoming. *I must visit again very soon to try more noodles and the spicy crab.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. It’s really cool that you can create your own dish. I got Japanese Ramen noodles in hot and sour broth and extra firm tofu. I have a high heat tolerance and this delivered. The tofu was a little spongy so next time I think I’ll get the shrimp. I feel like this is the kind of place you need to keep trying until you perfect your dish and then you’ve got to keep going to get your dish :).

So I and other 2 friends came here in the afternoon for lunch one day. We looked this place up and out of curiosity for the«create your own noddles». We were impressed with the menu and how they set up for the choices. I order an dry eggs noddles with beef and all of vegetables. I was surprised when they brought it out, the portion was large. It was tasty. But there were only few points i didn’t like. They put in too much garlic that i can still feel the smell of garlic throughout the whole day, no matter how many chewing gum i used. My 2 friends had the same issue with their ordered. Then the beefs were dried, and blank. They also put in too much sauce that even i ordered dry noddles, it came out with lot of sauces. My 2 friends said they like their orders too. I would come back sometimes to try out new combinations of their noddles.

Meh. Maybe I came on an off-night, but after rave reviews from some of my friends, I decided to [finally] try CY Noodles House for myself. In hindsight, maybe I was TOO excited to try it and expecting something revolutionary coming outta Salt Lake’s little Chinatown… Either way, reality did not meet expectations and everything kinda fell flat. We ordered the matcha green tea smoothie, spicy beef noodles x2(1 with soup and 1 dry), the crispy tofu and got the fried egg rolls for free(thanks, Unilocal!). The egg roll was at least edible, but the rest were rather flavorless, texture-less and overall unpalatable. Add to this, way-too-large portions and tons of guilty glances when you don’t want a doggy box for any leftovers.

So my friend told me about how great this place was and we kept planning on picking up lunch here and when we finally got around to it, I was sorry it took me so long! I got the Udon noodles with spicy Angus beef, Napa cabbage, and bok choy. It was very flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly! The only thing was I felt the beef was too thick and could have been sliced thinner so I can enjoy more of it with the rest of my noodles. My friend got Dan Dan noodles and said it was delicious but too spicy for her(I need to try that) and my other friend got noodle in broth and said it was very similar to phở. We were all very satisfied! The guy was extremely friendly and they even gave us 2 order of egg rolls with my 1 Unilocal check-in because my friend was with me! Silly me I should have included it with my online order instead of asking for it when I was picking up my food cause I then had to wait, but that was my mistake! I am craving to try their other noodles! Can’t wait to go back!

Ditch the noodles and try some authentic Chinese entrees! You will not be disappointed at all! Also excuse me while I compare some of their dishes with Chef Gao’s. Classic stir fry egg and tomatoes is a favorite dish all Chinese kids grew up with. It has a little twist of tiny creaminess(ketchup?) but it is not sweet as Chef Gao’s. Twice cooked pork! They actually use thin sliced pork belly and it looks more appetizing and refreshing than Chef Gao’s. Braised pork was a bit more soy saucy for the first time. It was cooked on the softer side. And, of course, it didn’t taste fatty at all with all the pork belly meat. Kung pao chicken is not your Americanized deep-fried chicken. The chicken was diced in cubes and stir-fried in delicious spicy sauce and fresh vegetables. The fried tofu with brown sauce: I like the style how they deep fried the tofu and it is more of agdashi tofu style but it gets soft really fast withe sauce. Maybe order the sauce on the side and you dip the tofu in it. Their special dish, the crab. I would highly recommend people to try it if you know how to eat it. It is not too expensive and it is fresh. Just order it ahead or it will be 30 minutes wait if they are not busy at all. Of course, you can’t leave out the spicy boiled fish! Decent amount and delicious as Chef Gao’s but more on the watery side. Now we definitely will choose it over Chef Gao’s. The food is delicious, the service here is great and the manager truly cares about her restaurant. Unlike Chef Gao’s third world service. ;)

Quite impressive authentic Asian noodles house. My wife got on Unilocal and found this place due to the high reviews. With it being single digit weather, it’s definitely perfect to eat some hot noodles soup. This is a create your own noodles menu kind of place. First you pick the noodles, then select the type of meat and vegetables for your entrée. My favorites are their Ramen and Dan Dan noodles, as it has good texture and flavor to it. The broth however was so-so. It was bland and didn’t have enough spices into the soup. The Dan Dan pork noodles are made in traditional style; spicy hot which helps your body temperature warm up pretty quickly and the ground pork was well marinated. ordered: Pot-stickers(highly recommended) Grilled Chicken ramen(highly recommended) Tofu ramen Dan Dan noodles with ground pork(highly recommended) Sesame ball

The owner was there and apologized for the behavior of the other server and even comped our meal for the last mishap. Food was excellent, fresh tasting and I really loved the new fried chicken with my noodles, very flavorful and great seasoning on them. Soon they will be offering traditional Chinese desserts, can’t wait to try those.

I am constantly in search of better noodle soups and the king on my list is udon. Too often I have been disappointed with the quality of the noodles or the flavor of the broth. With the newest addition to China Town on State Street, my prayers have finally been answered in the form of CY Noodles House. With its menu design allowing you to build your bowl from the ground up, you can select from the types of noodles, with or without broth, and a multitude of other options available. The restaurant is still new but I can see great potential as they continue to add more to their menu. I ordered udon noodles with spicy angus beef and topped with bok choy. The popping boba in their smoothies was fantastic. Try the mango and green tea flavors.

This is a very solid noodle option, with tons of promise and I know I’ll be back. As part of the ever-growing Chinatown(Dragontown?) around 33rd South and State Street, it’s great to have a little bit quicker of an option with a more tightly focused menu. I rolled in during their first few weeks, and had heard they were a create-your-own-dish kind of place. Get it? CY? Create Your? And that’s the basic concept – you pick your meat, your noodle, your style, and it comes out to your pretty quick. I chose a wide noodle served dry style, and I’ve heard the soups are a little better. Mine needed a fair amount of salt, but I will say that the braised rib(I think it was rib?) was perfect. And the beef balls I tried were spot on. the rest of the dish just didn’t come together as I had hoped. But I’ve got a lot of hope. I’m hearing things are catching a rhythm now and I’ve heard about tips on ordering(the soup, as mentioned above). As for pricing, it’s a tad higher than I expected, but the place is also much nicer than I had expected. The dishes are presented thoughtfully and the space is actually pretty nice. It has a contemporary feel with clean lines and no clutter. When noodles are good, they’re amazing. You want to fill up a bathtub with them and roll around in them, under them, and eat your way out. While we weren’t at bathtub levels, I’mma give them another shot for sure.
