I tried this place again and it was worse than before. We ordered beers and an appetizer while deciding what to order for dinner and left immediate after getting the app. The spinach artichoke dip was really really gross and kinda cold. Every time I come here it is worse. Won’t go back

Here now for their supposed Prime Rib Brunch… for $ 16.50 I would expect a decent brunch, with ample options. Went out and everything was pretty much gone and what was sitting in the warmers wasn’t even edible. We have been waiting and sitting for over 30 mins to see if they refill things, but yet nothing. I don’t even think they are serving prime rib right now since all we have seen is ham. Finally after an hour, they started refilling the bins, but yet the french toast was burnt. The prime rib came out and while it was good… I only got a small thin slice. What a complete joke! Best part of the meal was the salad. Serious waste of $$$ and I would never go back.

Good beer selection, good steak and portobella sandwich, and our server, Nathan, was epic. Made the experience great!

I used to love the Sunday brunch. Now it sucks. The pool table is surrounded by tables so close it isn’t even worth playing. There is a good selection of tvs to watch sports, but if your game isn’t on the main screen they are generally uncomfortable to watch and the main projector screen is faded. It smells pretty bad as well.

I’ve been frequenting this place for years and feel it’s been in a steady decline. The atmosphere is great, which is the draw. You can’t beat it on a Sunday to watch football. But, the food is generally mediocre lately and the brunch is just OK for the price point. I get that it’s a buffet in a bar type restaurant but it isn’t very good. On my last visit, I ordered a bloody mary and couldn’t figure out why I didn’t like it. I figured it was me and ordered a beer instead(after telling the server it tasted funny to me and having one sip out of it). I didn’t touch the drink the rest of the time and finished my meal. I got the bill and noticed that the bloody mary was made with a citrus vodka. I asked the server about this and she acted like I was the idiot that should know that it would be made with citrus vodka(she said they use that or pepper vodka). I have been been drinking for many years and worked as a server for many years and think it’s absurd that I should know that they make Bloody Marys w/citrus vodka by default(WHO does that!!!). She didn’t ask if I had a preference when I ordered. Normally, this would be a thing you should bring up to a manager and not write a dumb Unilocal review for but after bringing it to her attention twice and having a conversation with her about it twice she still charged me for the drink and I didn’t see a single manager in the place. I hope that the owner of this establishment realizes that they should continually strive to get better instead of relying on their good reputation and slipping on quality. Fiddler’s Elbow is a Sugarhouse institution and I really want to love it again.

It was not the best place to go. I went with a few friends to go watch a football game, and while there are plenty of screens, it doesn’t make them easy to see. The projector was washed out and had an impressive glare on it, and the other ones around the bar were too small and too far away to be of any use. The service was mediocre at best. It took my food from order to receiving about forty-five minutes when the waitress herself said it was a slow day. The beers on tap were just your standard issue. I heard the buffet has a nice spread, but I got there too late in the day to give it a shot. Like other reviews have said, the place has a weird smell to it and could use a solid top down cleaning. It’s not my favorite place and I will probably not go back.

Time for the obligatory 5-year update. Fiddler’s Elbow still smells funky. It’s like a smoky-bar-smell from the bygone era of smoking sections and tobacco filled taverns. It’s not terrible, but it’s not very appetizing either. Once you acclimate to the mild funk, you get to order your drinks and(most likely) food. The drinks are very good. They’ve got a nice selection of cocktails and craft beers, all at reasonable prices. As for the food, I’ve had bad, good and very good meals here. I’ve never had an amazing meal here. It’s bar food, done above average, and nothing is spectacular. The patio is okay, but it’s covered with screens on all sides and it has a roof, which makes it more of a porch than a patio and doesn’t have an outside feel to it. Go here to watch a game and have some drinks, but I’d recommend eating elsewhere, first.

Just had dinner and on our way to a movie so to pass the time I’ll review dindin. I ordered the black bean burger, it was ok. I would have preferred it heated on the griddle longer, it was mushy and pretty wet. Kind of fell apart on me then I finished it with a fork. It was not very flavorful, I thought I read on the menu it was spicy. It was not. I replaced fries with veggie chili. It was spicy but very watery. Some chunks of red bell pepper were too big. Not my fave but acceptable. My guy got fish and chips, he liked them. His mother got a french dip. It looked dry and there’s something over processed about their cheese.

A local brought me here to try the food and sit outside to enjoy the day and excellent conversation Our server seemed a bit Scattered and keep diverting to bring a straw as requested for my fellow dining guest The nacho’s smelled wonderful and looked amazing but we skipped an appetizer and just jumped right into the main entrees. She ordered the black bean bean burger and the only negative comment was the thickness of the focaccia bread this entrée was served on. She said it is one of her favorite items to order when here I orders the Verde(green tomatillo based spicy sauce) Enchiladas with rice and black beans. The rice and beans were a hit to me and I could roll them up in a tortilla and chow down on just them. The heat of the Verde sauce was perfect and the pork was slow braised and delicious. I would order this as well again On rap beer selection was pretty good with an extensive bottled beer list as well. Nice wine selection to fit most palettes as well are offered.

Service was decent, just seemed like a weird mix of a sports bar and Applebee’s. The only thing that makes this 3 stars instead of two was the very friendly and good service

You want beer, pub food, your own table and to watch whatever sporting event you like? Yeah this is your place. Enough room for a big party or just a few friends. If there is a big game on and you want to make sure you get a table get there a little be before the game starts. This place can fill up fast.

Been here a couple of times and always leave vowing not to return. Last night the server was either incompetent or just plain scandalous. I got the feeling he purposely short changed me. However the food is good and the décor is appealing. Lots big TVs with many viewing selections.

The beer here is great but the food is mediocre. I ordered the black bean burger and it was a thin patty with no interesting or unique toppings. I wouldn’t go again.

Came here to watch a RSL game, hang with friends, and have dinner. There’s really no sign on the main road, so it’s a bit hard to find, parking around the back. The staff was nice and friendly, they turned on the heaters for us since we were sitting outside. They were however ridiculously slow, it took ten minutes to get refills on soda, and they kept forgetting to bring silverware and other things. I had thier«fresh baked» pizza. It was ten bucks for a tiny pizza, that tasted like those personal pizzas from pizzahut that have been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. I drowned it in ranch, and choked it down. It was an okay place to hang out and watch sports, but I definitely wouldn’t eat there again.

Great place to watch the games! This place usually comes to mind when I want to watch any game and have some bar good and beer as well. The reason why it is three stars is because although it is awesome for games(if it’s a big game like a utah game, it may almost be impossible to get a seat unless you come early) the food is only meh. The beer selection is great. They have a few beers from all the local brands as well as some great bottled beer options. Their food on the other hand is nothing special. I have been here many times and I have yet to find something really delicious. Their cobblers are, I have to say, the best dish they offer in my opinion. If all else fails, go for the cobbler(the fruit in the cobbler changes daily so ask your server what type of cobbler they have). If you are in sugarhouse and want to watch the games, this place has lots of tvs and are always showing the big games of the night.

This used to be one of my favorite places to hang out especially on a Sunday during the NFL games. I would meet several friends here and we would hang out for hours enjoy the brunch which was pretty darn good at the time. However the price of the brunch has far exceeded what I think you really get the quality is not that great for the $ 15 range. There are a couple of really good people that work there Joe in particular is a great guy he is a great waiter and we always enjoy having him come by. Their key lime pie does not taste at all like key lime pie and we did have an issue with one of the servers there who swore up and down it was and when we spoke with the chef the chef actually admitted that he had forgotten to put the lime in there. Even the chef admitted it didn’t taste at all like key lime pie however the server argued up and down and that was a very big dissatisfier. One of the best items on the menu I think is their burger. I like the fact that it is hormone free antibiotic free and I believe if I’m not mistaken it is grass fed as well. Very very tasty. The fries are good, the beer is really good as well. I also like the atmosphere in here I just very very welcoming and a fun place to come. But I can only give it 2 stars due to price and I think the Sunday brunch has declined some.

The Tri Tip Sandwich with fries was good! I wish the music would bump a little louder… Maybe this isn’t the case on weekdays, but I was happy I paired my sandwich with Strongbow. This is kinda weird, but being so empty on a Wednesday afternoon, I was surprised how stuffy it felt inside. Might be the AC, I don’t know, but yeah! I’d come over again. :-)

After growing up in SLC, then living in LA for some years, this is has become our favorite place to lounge for a few pints/pitchers. If only more Utahns understood the value of patio seating for quality beer drinking! U students and other Utahns may grow accustomed to the sad selection of beers available in most Utah bars(a couple Uintahs + PBR and Coors). Luckily Fiddler’s Elbow has a few more options available(Moab, Squatters, Red Rock, …although more, more, more options will always be needed). Food is bar food, nothing too amazing, and not much variety for us vegetarians. Great service, though, and plenty of big TVs for sports-like entertainment.

While traveling we met a buddy here, once I arrived I checked in on Unilocal and was rather nervous about the overall rating. I was definitely relieved by our great experience. The beer list is small but has excellent choices, many of which are local breweries. I had the two IPA’s that were on the menu, Uinta«Trader Session IPA» and the Red Rock«IPA Junior». I wish the IPA offering was larger(maybe it just isn’t a «thing» in SLC). I’d suggest Pikes Peak Brewing’s «Elephant Rock IPA»! The food was good pub food. Everyone was happy with their burgers, sandwiches and fish tacos. Only two people ordered dessert(cheese cake and key lime pie), and they said it was ok. The service was quick, polite, and didn’t mind our jokes. They even threw some sass right back at us. Would I come here again? You bet.
