Kmart

The store was clean and organized when I went. That being said, there was hardly anyone to direct me, and I don’t usually come to this store unless I see online that they might have something there that I need that other stores are out of.
So this is not my go to store at all, I can’t say it was a horrible experience but they were a little over priced than Walgreens, we all know Walgreens isn’t the best place for price value, but pricing higher than Walgreens with hardly any customer service. ohh that didn’t win them points at all with me. I doubt that I will go there again.

When it was time to check out we had to wait for 15 minutes while the cashier was checking a discount on tape. We than went to another line and they were also taking forever.

This was pretty entertaining as I had the exact thoughts of this place should be put out of its misery prior to reading several other reviews that literally all echo the same sentiment, speaking of Travis and Jeffrey and Andrew and Betty. In fact, I have nothing contrary to any of those reviews, which is quite sad, considering some of them go back a good 4 years… somehow this thing plugs away… My vote for who said it best was Tom Cruise in teaching Dustin Hoffman in «Rainman» about the way of Kmart, succinctly, though a bit unkindly, nailing it on the head with his flat «Kmart sucks.» Yes, yes it does, but it always has, if we’re being honest.
Look, back in the 80’s, before the whole thing got all knackered under the grinding wheels of Wal-​Mart, the name we had for this place was Came-​A-​Part and they were selling cheap, shoddy merch even back then. Now, what isn’t cheap junk on the shelves is just empty space. Making it even more unpleasant and uncomfortable, besides the knowledge that you are smack in the belly of a dying beast, is all the busted up and filthy tile. Say what you want about Wal-​Mart, but at least they sink money into their stores. In fact, I’d go so far as to defy anyone to find a dirty one in Salt Lake or even anywhere else in the country. Sure, it’s largely the same overseas shoddy crap on display, but at least there generally is more of it, selection-​wise. Contrast with K-​mart and nearly all the stores are beat to death.
I’ve been here twice in the last 5 years and come away with a few Hot Wheels and a bottle of hot sauce. Were it not for the friendly staff, still gamely trying to plug away and keep this thing ticking a few beats more, this would be a 1 star review. I’m not one to advocate putting people out of work, but I think we can largely pull the plug here on this chain. I can’t imagine I will ever be back to this or any other.

Whenever I go here I feel like I will see a gravestone marked «Here lies our hopes and dreams of regaining a foothold in commerce.» Kmart is the Corey Feldman of the shopping world, weird, showing it’s age and bad choices, and more than a little creepy. But still good for those random things you can’t find anyplace else.

Oh dear me. Can we just close this chapter in American history? I don’t mean Chapter 7. Or Chapter 11. I mean, can we just close this thing for good?
I was looking for a random product, and through a tip from a sleuthing online searcher, I was led to this store. I entered my zip code, and they verified online that they indeed had the item in stock here. Hurray. It would be my first visit to a Kmart in years.
Like a fool, I believed the website. I circled the area where I thought my item might be, and didn’t see it. Undaunted, I grabbed an associate or team member or whatever Kmart is calling their employees these days, and asked them. I showed them the produce on my phone on their website, indicating that it was indeed there in stock. They told me that can’t look up the number of online products because the product number they use online is different. They explicitly stated that their website and in-​store product information are incompatible.
The nice (but clearly lost) lady at customer service pointed me to a nice (but even more lost) young man who walked around aimlessly looking for the product. He called a manager on walkie-​talkie. It may be possible that she could have cared less, but you’d have a hard time convincing me. I’m pretty sure that at that point I had talked with 75% of the people on staff that night. Three out of four – and the other girl was manning the register.
Honestly, I admire them for trying. I have nostalgia for the blue light and all that, but at a certain point you have to step up your game and get out of the ghetto, or just tell the team back in Troy that their time is up. Tick tock.

These poor guys are getting their butts kicked by cooperate Darwinism and I really miss my store at the top of Parley’s Way so I try and bring my buisness here when I get the chance. I bought a children’s bike here recently and found out soon after that it had a bent wheel. I had already put the training wheels on it so I didn’t want to take it back. I called and the manager who told me just to bring my receipt in and that he’d work with me. They refunded me what I asked for and even a little more.

I never knew they represented different levels. But WalMart, KMart and Target are definitely different shopping experiences. This place actually depressed me a little. There were two little girls dressed in the same outfit at the end of an aisle saying that they wanted me to play forever, then one of the them screamed and shattered all the glass in the store. It looks like this place has already closed, yet nobody notified the employees so they continue to show up to work anyway. I would personally just go to the WalMart across the street, unless you’re fully stocked up on anti-​depressants.

Kmart is the odd man out in a Walmart and Target world. This store is seldom busy and I really wonder how they are still in business. I prefer shopping at this Kmart versus the Walmart across the street because they aren’t busy, carry some better quality products, and this store is much cleaner. No big box store carries everything I usually want but Kmart carries a lot of good merchandise, has reasonably prices, and friendly employees.

I don’t know how it is that Kmart still manages to hang on. They have closed most stores and those that are still open are just shells of their former selves. This Kmart is no exception to this.
A super huge and empty parking lot guides you in and the store is super huge and empty as well. Merchandise is scattered with no thought to display and it seems that they don’t have much of anything you are ever looking for.
It’s just a sad store in a sad place. Sad.

Its like a Kmart Ghost Town! This place is located directly across the street from a Super Wal Mart who’s parking lot is always full. Not sure why this location stays open.
Its set far back from the street with an ENORMOUS parking lot. Although whenever we’ve gone here there haven’t been more than 10 or 20 cars in the lot and that was on a weekend!
This place is fine for shopping if you know exactly what you want and don’t want to brace the crowds at Wal Mart. I did go in looking for kid’s school supplies and wasn’t able to find half of the stuff we needed. Wound up having to go to Target for the other half.
This Kmart also always has a unique smell when you first walk in. When I first started going here it smelled like rotten milk and now we barely smell it. Its’ still there but not as bad, or perhaps we just got used to it!
