I couldn’t believe it when I saw a Vietnamese restaurant inside of Fashion Place Mall! So I just had to try it out. I ordered the Steak Phở and Glazed Chicken Banh Mi(Sandwich). For the Phở, the first thing you do is pick your noodle. They have regular noodles or the more wider, flat kind of noodles. Second, pick your meat. They had regular steak meat and then marinated steak meat. Finally, they give you a small dish of the typical Phở veggies with a small cup of the hoisin sauce and sriracha. For the banh mi, it was pretty similar. After they get the bread and meat, you are asked which veggies you want. I asked for all the veggies but skipped out on the liver pâté, since I’m not a fan of that. The Phở was actual wonderful! They gave me plenty of noodles and LOTS of meat. Not even full-blown restaurants gave me that much meat. The broth was very tasty and putting in the typical sauces made it better. Similarly, the Banh Mi was also delicious! One gripe was the bread wasn’t toasty/crunchy and I’m not sure why. It was a little tougher. Getting past that though, it was pretty darn good. I’ll definitely swing by here for lunch another one of these days and I recommend everyone give this place a try!

While shopping, my friends and I decided to grab a quick snack at the food court of the mall. When I first saw that they are serving phở and banh mi in a food court I was really surprised. I thought what the hell let me try this place out and see. I wasn’t really expecting much because heck it was the food court at the mall. I ordered their grilled pork banh mi. The grilled pork was being roasted/kept hot on this little grill thing and the workers would just slice your meat there for you. The sandwich wasn’t a disappointment at all for a food court establishment. It was huge and very tasty. Totally recommend this place for a really good tasty food court meal. I also found out that the same owner that owns bucket o crawfish is this owner too.

For you peeps that are devastated to see Phở Green Papaya/Noodles and Chopsticks go… well, don’t be! The family behind those establishments is just on a new business venture… Lua-O! Just in case ya didn’t know, they’re also the masterminds behind Sapa, Bucket-O-Crawfish, and Fat Fish. Safe to say, they know what they’re doing. And that’s why they took the leap to open the first Vietnamese mall stand in Utah(as far as my knowledge, correct me if I’m wrong). I love the idea, love the concept, and love the potential. But I feel like it’s still in its infant stage right now. Food took a little long but perhaps you’re trading time for freshness. So I can’t give it 5 stars. And I’ve only ordered the vermicelli and the spring rolls… which were fairly good. Reading the other reviews though, I should’ve tried the phở and sandwiches. So stay tuned for my update!

Had to come again and admire their great tasting broth. A couple years ago I tried and tried to make Phở based on the YouTube videos and could never get it just ‘right’. This place has it down to a science, I just hope it isn’t overloaded with MSG. It is very smooth and not greasy just the way I like it.
