Various small plates and every one satisfied. Service was excellent. Well worth the $$ and we will certainly return as often as possible.

This place fills a gap in Salt Lake. High-end Greek food in a spare, modern — but comfortable — atmosphere. We were very happy with all 5 meze plates, which is rare. Good cocktails and wine. Friendly and helpful wait staff. And a good sign – it was packed on a Sunday! You may think, meh, beets again. But the accompanying horseradish skordalia was so good I licked my plate. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The piquillo peppers were the best I’ve had – there just weren’t enough. The scallops came with a great salty split pea mash/purée. And on… Go there!

Delicious. Small and quaint and possibly the best restaurant we have ever been to in Salt Lake City.

Thought our meal was pretty good, we love Greek food and we wanted to eat here since it opened. We thought the quality of the food was mediocre, it doesn’t seem like they source high quality ingredients. The steak and fish items we ordered were average, it just tasted like a Costco steak. The dishes tasted were good not great. Our server was nice but wasn’t too on top of our drinks or clearing our dirty plates. We’ll come back and try it again, we just thought they’d have the opening day kinks worked out by now.

I had a nice experience at Manolis. It was my first visit and I arrived for Saturday brunch with a friend. I expected the place to be super crowded, but it stayed rather quiet(which I prefer!). Dinner time may be a different atmosphere. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with a mimosa and was pleasantly surprised. Everything tasted delicious and our server was wonderful. The place is inviting, yet has a modern, upscale feel to it.

The interior is super cute, very upscale and classy. It has an open kitchen concept that is nice but the harsh light from the kitchen takes away from any sort of ambient lighting. We came with super high hopes. Our server was very pleasant but seemed overwhelmed with his section. It took forever to get our drinks and when we got them they were ok. The octopus that we read so much about was just meh, the side of beans had no flavor and the octopus was extremely tough. I had the Brizola, a New York strip steak. The quality of the steak was not good, the parsnip purée and wilted greens were a disappointing pairing. My boyfriend had the lamb burger and couldn’t finish it be cause the beef/lamb patty did not have a good flavor and the bun was too doughy for the meat patty. One of our friends had the pork and said it was underwhelming and dry. We saw it made SL Mag’s top 25. I can think of a couple restaurants that didn’t make the list that I would switch out with this place. Everything about this place is pretty, from the lighting down to the menu yet the food and drinks are a bust.

Really filling and yummy food choices for brunch, and I’m not a big fan of breakfast foods. However I would not recommend getting the salad unless you know you like the salad dressing that they use. It’s really strong and aromatic kind of like alcohol. I think it’s an apple cider dressing of some time. Other than that I loved it! Service was wonder and food came out fairly quick! Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

We had an amazing meal here tonight! Loved the small plate Greek options. Everything was so fresh and the combined spices over the whole meal was heavenly. It was a delight to the palate! Textures were also amazing! Our waiter, Austin, was extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. The entire dining experience was what you would hope for on a date night!

It’s a super cute place. The bar was cool and the whole restaurant was spaced out nicely. It didn’t feel too crammed. We all started off with a bowl of Krytharaki. It’s basically a Greek mac and cheese. It was rich, cheesy, and just absolutely delicious. Next we had the Htapodi. It is octopus over a warm bean salad. The octopus was perfectly cooked, not to charred and it wasn’t chewy at all. The bean salad was fine but the octopus is the star of the dish after all. Then we had the Branzino. This came out without the head unlike most places which was perfectly fine because we usually don’t eat it. Branzino is one of those things that you can’t really mess up. The fish is mild and clean tasting. And when cooked correctly, it has a nice buttery flavor. This lived up to everything that we love about Branzino. Last, Greek donuts with a honey syrup and sesame seeds. These were good. My husband wants to come back just for these.

Great atmosphere and décor. Service and starter plates good– we then ordered two of the fish special — way too salty! Told the waitress, rather than redo she took $ 15 off the bill. I ate mine as I was starving. Other one not touched much by group. Would have preferred a larger wine list — sort of one of this or that. Attentive service, but would have preferred the choice of different entrée.

Manoli’s restaurant is named after its energetic, youthful«hands-on» owner Manoli Katsanevas. He has created a great venue with a high quality Greek inspired cuisine. Last night, after making a reservation(highly recommended), our party of four was seated in the sleek, modern facility. Our attentive server was always attentive and gave a good summary of the options including the chicken wild mushroom pita which was a special item on the menu. We ordered that and additionally two other«mezze» starters, grilled octopus over delicious white beans and sea scallops over a parsnip purée. After our server attentively filled our wine glasses, we ordered our main courses. I had a New York steak, ordered rare which was probably served medium rare. My wife, who happens to be Greek and therefore a good judge of the cuisine, shared four other mezze and salad dishes with a family member which included a mixed green salad, beets over a skorthalia(a delicious Greek sauce of bread, garlic and vinegar) and an orzo/minesta dish. All were given their enthusiastic seal of approval. Another family member ordered the fillet of Bronzino fish meal and to be honest. It stole the show. It was juicy, flaked away from the skin. It was a great size for this type of fish and he had plenty for all to take a taste. It was savory and buttery. I’ve had Bronzino at another downtown restaurant and it was dried out and not up to the quality that Manoli’s offers. We all left fully satisfied and throughly enjoyed our dinner at Manoli’s.

Wow, this is a great new addition to the Salt Lake scene. It is a very chef driven menu with that Greek flare you can’t just find anywhere. I had the Octopus to start and it did not disappoint. The presentation was spot on and the lemon and spices were well balanced. Our service was very good and on point every step of the way. This place was packed and it felt busy but they were handling it like pros. I recommend a reservation. You have to try this place!!!

Great food with reasonable drink prices. Seriously a fantastic new addition to Salt Lake City. I hope they don’t jack up prices. Update — been here a couple more times. Has not let me down. Wish they served lunch.

We picked this place by just picking a random restaurant on Unilocal, and WOW were we pleasantly surprised. We came on New Year’s Eve and they had a fixed menu. Appetizer was scallops, best I’ve ever had and we’ve had them all over the world. No joke. Next was a beet salad with the fried cheese. Again something I would not have order but my husband also agreed it was just phenomenal. Entrée was braid pork and I got a butternut pasta. Both were full of so many great things. They planned each thing in the entrée perfectly to pair it with each ingredient. Superb. The dessert was a pana cotta, again so amazing. This was the best food we’ve had in salt lake and made us really break out of our safe food bubble. I could now write a whole review on the service. I wish they had more than 5 stars to rate this. Best service I’ve ever received at any high end restaurant. Our waiter was Austin, so nice and helpful. Came to our table to bring water and make sure everything was just perfect. So great. After the meal the chef and I’m assuming owner came to our table and made sure we loved it as well. They were so happy we came. We are recommending it to everyone we know!!! LOVE!

It’s my pleasure to give one of my rare 5 stare reviews to Manoli’s. First of all, the location is awesome! It’s close to downtown but just on the outskirts of the high traffic areas, it’s got a great outdoor patio I’m excited to try in the summer, & the menu is unique! I can’t wait to dine here again! P. S. If you are looking for vegetarian options at Greek restaurants, they are usually hard to come by but I had plenty of options here.

I left disappointed and a little hungry after my first visit. Two friends and I visited Manoli’s the week after it opened. We were excited to try this modern Greek restaurant located in the quiet liberty park neighborhood. The interior is spacious and modern but smelled distinctly like fresh paint the entire meal; not the most appealing. We arrived a little after 5PM on Wednesday and were the only group there for most of an hour. The wine menu was a little pricy for the area and the beer menu was very limited. Our server, Austin, was very attentive and helpful with personal recommendations. We started off with the Htapodi [octopus] but were very disappointed that a $ 17 small plate contained very chewy and tough tentacles; the warm bean salad was good but nothing special. The Arni Psito [lamb belly sliders] were great with quality meat but skimped on toppings and we wish there was one more slider. The Yemista [stuffed peppers] were fantastic; the smoked feta was delicious and I only wished the peppers were firmer. The Tyropitakia [cheese pies] were all three of our favorites; well cooked with interesting flavors. The Krytharaki [orzo and cheese] was hyped up as a hybrid between mac n’ cheese and risotto but I was disappointed as a big fan of both dishes; it was bland but mildly sweet. The Htenia [scallops] were cooked well but the yellow split pea purée was starchy and difficult to finish; the presentation was pretty but that was the only plate we did not completely finish. The Loukoumathes [Greek donuts] were good but nothing special; well fried and the syrup was good. The Pagoto [ice cream] was delicious; honey and anise flavored house-made ice cream that was very sweet and should be shared with others. Although our bills were large, our stomachs were not full after our meal. The service provided by Austin was on point and I have no complaints about him. We were just disappointed that our meal was not as good as we were hoping. Maybe it was attributed to the newness of the restaurant and kinks still need to be worked out. I’m interested in coming back after a while to see if the food quality improves.

I am a human being that is overly fond of small plates, so when I heard this place was opening right by Southeast Market, I knew I had to check it out. My husband and I finally made it over for a late dinner a couple of nights ago. Despite this place only being open for a little over a week, it was still pretty packed. We ended up with a total of five plates: grilled octopus, piquillo peppers with feta, lamb belly sliders, beef croquettes, and the meatballs. All were excellent, fresh and flavorful. I found the croquettes to be especially creative. We ended with the goat cheesecake, which was just killer(and not too big!) Service was great, and the atmosphere was clean and modern. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying some more things on the menu. We’re adding it to our regular small plates rotation.

New modern Greek restaurant just hit this town few days ago. My friends and I were pretty stoked to try modern greek dishes. It is only the 2nd night since they opened and they are pretty full which it is a good sign! Their interior design is modern and sleek with an open kitchen. We looks like bunch of asian tourists with our heads moving up and down and moving our lips with«ohhh…» and«ahhh…» while examining the restaurant. Also you can see the owner of the restaurant in black was busy cooking with cooks. Basically, my friend and I ordered about 14 dishes. Overall, Manoli’s definitely knows how to grill their meat perfectly! We constantly complimented how the meat is juicy and tender. The only problem is lacking on flavor! The Lamb Slider, Arni Psito, one of the dishes that I really enjoyed. The lamb belly meat had perfect combination of fat and meat. The smokey feta spread had good saltily and tangy taste but I didn’t taste any smokiness. The coffee bean BBQ sauce added a good sweetness to the slider but I could not taste any coffee. Also I really hates pickles but their pickles was refreshing with hint of sourness. The steak was grilled excellent with a good texture but I almost going to ask for steak sauce because the lack of flavor. The lamb burger’s sauce was too neutral that we cannot taste much flavor. The Roka salad was actually pretty good and it almost reminded me of Medtrina’s granny smith. I cannot say much about the meatballs, Keftethes. It is a cold dish but we all prefer our balls to be warm(that’s what she said or he said). It is a personal preference so it is just a note for people who never had this dish. The homemade ice cream of honey and anise is definitely a dessert to try! The rest of dishes didn’t leave much impression on me. I have no complaints on the service. The server handled it well when they are are busy. Monali’s is a new restaurant and they are still tweaking their dishes. I will give them a week or a month to establish their dishes. :)

My husband and I went on opening night. It was a great experience. We ordered a bottle of the Spanish Cabernet, and it was delicious. I wish there was a little more variety of wines, but the bottle we got was really good and went nicely with the small plates we ordered. There are no Napa red wines which I am particularly a fan of. For our meal, we did only the small plates. We started out with the scallops which did not disappoint. Then, we tried the lamb and beef meatballs and their orzo mac and cheese which both were good. I feel like the mac and cheese could have had a little more salt and flavor, but overall… delicious. Then we had their red peppers and lamb sliders. The lamb sliders were something I will definitely not forget! It’s not a cheap place to dine, but it’s a good place to be. It will be on our list of places to enjoy.
