Always excellent service and food. It is our place of choice for celebratory dinners. Vegetarian options are excellent by getting a selection of small plates, tapas style instead of an entrée.

I’ll admit, I don’t eat out often so I’m no connoisseur. However, the ambiance here was very comfortable and I was beyond comfortable with the waiter we had. It was a Saturday evening and they said it’d be a 20 minute wait. However, we only had to wait for maybe 5 minutes max! Not to mention, people waiting have their own little cushioned seating area with tables! It was just me and my buddy on a casual outing, and our(hunky bearded) waiter seemed to adapt to that by toning down himself without being OVERLY casual – still very professional. He didn’t bother us much at all(which I think he did intentionally, and it was appreciated) but still checked on us to see if things were good; a perfect balance. He refilled our waters multiple times(without being asked) and cleared our table as soon as we were ready for the next course or our bills. He was very cool and very friendly. And confident! The food was excellent. Our waiter recommended the fries as an appetizer. Fries doesn’t sound too special, but they were incredible… but the sauce is what really makes it! It had a beautiful blend of spices; my favorite fries I’ve ever had in the US. My friend and I could not stop devouring them until they were gone. Everything afterwards was beautifully moist. I got a Lamb Dolaa(waiter’s recommendation). The meat was tender and easily broken. The rice was perfectly cooked and they had a savory sauce to top it all off with, which came in a separate sauce bowl. Each of us at the table got our own sort of fluffy flatbread(unsure of its actual name). This was a perfect addition to the meal and it was nice to be able to scoop my lamb and rice on top of it to make a sort of sandwich. A very smooth experience, logistics-wise, and a very delicious one, in terms of the food. So perfect! P. S. The interior is beautiful!

This is more of a 3.5 star review since Middle Eastern cuisine is close to my heart and we just dined at a wonderful Levantine restaurant in Nashville. The food at Mazza was good, but not very good or great. The kibbeh was a bit mushy and did not have the crispness I enjoy. The rice dishes were extremely bland, and did not have the explosion of flavor expected. Mazza may be Salt Lake City’s best Middle Eastern restaurant(s). However, my Syrian friend’s food and restaurants in other cities have spoiled me.

This place never disappoints, in terms of both food and service. I try to come here with friends as often as possible. Despite the crowd, wait times are decent. The vegetarian dolmas and spinach fatayer are must-try appetizers. Falafels melt in your mouth, and the chicken and cauliflower kabseh and the maghmoor are out of the world. Excellent cocktails as well.

This is a review long due. This place some brilliant middle eastern cuisine. Unfortunately we had a bitter experience with the wait time here. We were a group close to 10 and we waited for more than an hour to get a table. There were multiple tables vacant which they could have pulled together to seat us all. But they refused to do that writing some weird policy.

All around good food. The location is great and the inside has a good atmosphere. The drinks were delicious. I had a white whiskey and it was well worth it.

The food is very authentic and delicious. Quality really shows in their food and service; in the way they really take care of their customers and extremely hospitable. I’m Lebanese and this is where I go for good Lebanese food. Oh and wonderful atmosphere. I’m in love

I’m a touch torn on this review. There were a lot of really great things about this place, and then there were some things that were not so great. We came on a busy Friday night and the wait ended up being around 30ish minutes. The owner/manager(not sure which) was VERY warm and inviting. He personally asked us if we wanted a drink while we were waiting, and we did! I had a mixed drink of some manner, and our friends had a wine that they very much enjoyed. My mixed drink was Ok, albeit a little syrup like in taste. Our server was a lot of fun and very personable, though he did tend to leave us alone for long bouts of time. Who knows, maybe he just didn’t want to interrupt our conversation. Having been a server for years myself, I understand that delicate line between attentive and buggy. He didn’t seem in a hurry though, and neither were we. That was one thing I loved about this place… Even though it was a busy night, we never felt rushed like you do at a lot of places that are trying«turn their tables» as quick as possible. The ambiance is also lovely. A little dark and cozy, yet still clean and modern. So here is where it gets a little complicated for me. I had a chance to try almost every dish on the table. We ordered a smattering of things including 2 entrees and a myriad of appetizers and 2 desserts. What was so strange to me was how quickly the dishes could go from great to «meh». For example, the lamb shank… ermahgerd…SOOOOO good. But the vegetarian grape leaves had an almost chemical taste to them. The babaganoush, AMAZING! The couscous almost inedible, and that’s not just me talking, everyone on the table tried it and had the same reaction. The Lamb and Rice Dolaa vs The Lamb Shank is not even a contest. The shank is tender, juicy, fatty, flavorful and comes in a delicious sauce. The Dolaa was a pile of sauces-less meat atop a giant pile of rice. For only $ 2 dollars more… Go for the lamb shank. Overall I really like Mazza, and we really did have a wonderful time. I just think that for what you are paying, I would like to see some more consistency throughout their menu. Also, be aware that portions on some things tend to be on the smaller side, so its best to ask your sever before ordering.

Mazza is a lovely restaurant. The wait staff were all friendly and helpful and the owner even came and asked how our meal was. And the food… my heavens the food. The Potatoes«Harra» are a must try. The spices were so delicious and they were perfect with some rice. I would literally come back here just for the potatoes and rice. The hummus was superb as well. One of my new favorite restaurants in SLC.

Going back today for the first time in years I found the atmosphere to be very nice, with white linens with paper over the table top and paper napkins. Not sure if that is the lunch thing or it is the same for dinner. The service was a little slow, however, the food was very good. I had the lamb kebab over rice. The lamb was well cooked and seasoned. The yogurt sauce was a little thin and had big cucumber chunks. I wish the rice had a little more flavor but all in all, a very good dish. We ordered an appetizer and had the stuffed grape leaves which were excellent. Again, the yogurt sauce was a little thin. I would definitely get those again.

Even though it is not the best Middle Eastern food that I had, it is still good for what is available in Utah. As a person who likes dining out a lot, I find Maza to be a place I enjoy going to for a decent meal. The service there has always been great and the atmosphere is very good. The House Salad with Kafta is one of my all time favorite meals and it’s one that I order pretty often. The Chicken Kabab sandwich is also pretty good. I recommend this place and will continue ur to dine here.

Bad service. Made us wait for more than 30 minutes before listening to creative ideas to seat us. Reminds me of big companies that don’t care about customers. More than 45 min of a wait after ordering food :( So far, no reason to return to this place

Overall my experience at Mazza was very positive. Our server was extremely attentive and provided excellent service — I tipped him on top of the added on gratuity and felt well taken care of. The menu has a lot of great variety that will appeal to different palates and budgets. I ordered a soda($ 3, which is stupidly high, and I probably should have skipped it), a falafel sandwich($ 8 and a great value), and the baklava square($ 4.50, which was a pretty average price). The falafel sandwich was pretty tasty, but I do wish I’d ordered it over rice instead(an additional $ 3, which makes me wonder what’s so special about their rice). It was very filling and an excellent portion size for the cost. The baklava was beautiful but far too dry for my personal preference. What little orange blossom honey was on it was delicious, but there were about ten layers of dry, crispy phyllo dough that left me wanting. Overall I’d return to Mazza and recommend it to people wanting Middle Eastern cuisine!

Well, not sure what to say. Nice looking restaurant with great ambiance and very open, but that’s kind of where it stops! I ordered the chicken kabob and added a beef skewer to the order over rice. The rice was amateur. No flavor and just boiled. Really??? The«skewers» were funny. Tiny amount of meat and the beef one was chewy and lacking flavor. No pita bread either. I’m sure it would have been extra if I asked. They threw in what looked like a southwestern style ranch dipping sauce! WTH! Oh, and a tiny tiny cup of their version of cucumber sauce. Looking across the room I see people have shawarmas in front of them, and they look decent. In the Middle East shawarma is considered to be street food. Excellent, but street food. A restaurant with this kind of pricing and stature needs to be outstanding in everything, especially kabobs! Enough said.

Had dinner here with friends the other night. I’ve been here twice now during visits to SLC and had great meals both times. I have been getting the trio of appetizers so I can sample multiple dishes, and Iove that they have gluten-free options so you can use lettuce leaves instead of pita to scoop up the savory dips and dishes. On this latest visit I had the loobia(stewed green beans), the muhamara(walnut and red pepper dip) and the ful mudammas(fava beans and chick peas). All 3 were unique and delicious. Service and atmosphere are also great, from our friendly and knowledgable server Meg to the lovely outdoor seating. I only wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often!

Cutting carbs? This could be your place! I ordered lamb, beef, and chicken kebabs for pick up order around 1:30 today. They were tender, full of flacour, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. $ 25 This is a beautiful restaurant, and looked perfect for a date night, as well as some nice outside seating. Happy eating!

I’ve spent plenty of time in the Middle East eating Lebanese food, and Mazza’s got some good eats. You can stuff your entire entrée in your face and not feel dirty after you ate rice, tomatoes, parsley, and the like. I had the kofta kabob on rice with a lil cup of hummus, which doesn’t come with pita. My amigo had the chicken schawarma plate and enjoyed it as well. The price is a little high when analyzing cost/value and cuisine technical difficulty, but their rent is $$$ I bet! :p(Also, perhaps I’m also too used to «AYCE fresh pita» in the UAE.) ;) Anyway, they pimp the place out really nicely with white linen and nice lighting. Tasty and fresh, but I probably wouldn’t make it a habit of enjoying Middle Eastern food in a fine dining atmosphere since it pushes the price up a lot… That’s just me though… I prefer to get down and dirty with my schawarma and mezze!
