Great little hip area of Salt Lake, shopping, gelato, Indian, Thai, American, fresh artisan restaurants!

Incredibly unique area. There is, first of all, an area that appears to be an amalgamation of gravel and, unless I miss my guess, tar that is slightly hardened and has this sort of glowy yellow paint on it. If you stand in the middle and face due any of the major directions and I’m talking the frozen North, the sweltering South, the winding up West and the rising East here, you can look up and see there, against the sky overhead, a traffic light or two. In any direction! Nowhere else in the city does this occur. It’s a novelty and truly a sight to behold and often I will lie down in the middle, between them all, let the congealed surface warm and soothe me and dream of who first thought up such a thing. Truly a marvel among marvels! There is the usual other stuff around, grass, trees, air, electricity and stuff and I think there are places you can buy stuff. Sometimes some are open, sometimes others are open, but I don’t think all of them are ever open all the time. I saw a couple different colored areas that were maybe gravel and white tar? Not sure. Someday I’ll take a hammer and an electron microscope, if I can find an open place and talk them into letting me borrow some power and break off a few chunks and see if I can find the difference. It should be exciting! On these lighter patches, sometimes people park gigantic trucks and open the sides and then sell stuff out of them. I see people putting the objects to their mouths, so I’m assuming it’s food? Maybe? I dunno. Maybe I can put my trust hammer and electron microscope to the test and find out! And then I will update this review! And let you know!

9th and 9th is truly a landmark area for shopping and walking and enjoying the hip-ness of Salt Lake City that very few other areas possess. It is not quite walking distance for me, I have to take my car, because riding my bicycle down the hill means that I can’t get back up the hill after I am done with my shopping, eating, enjoying this very cool area. A first-rate yoga studio, the best gelato in all of Salt Lake City, Mazza Middle Eastern cuisine restaurant. It’s just THE address in this area of our city. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, or if you are new to the city, get down there and have yourself a tasty gelato. You will probably see me there.
