Not bad. Nice atmosphere, decent food. I had the steak salad… it was ok but nothing special. The portion was a decent size though. The waitress was a little too friendly… almost creepy. Not sure I’d be back.

We’ve been here a few times and love everything we’ve ever eaten from here. My only complaint is that it’s far from home, but that’s a personal problem; this place is just amazing in terms of food and ambiance!

I feel like, based on the other reviews at least, that I may have to come back here and give this place another go. I made reservations to come here with my parents for brunch before they headed out of town. They asked what kind of food it would be and I explained that I had never been here before, but being that it looks pretty trendy and hip, that I’m positive most of the items will say either«farm fresh» or «farm to table» on the, and you’ll have an option of at least 3 beat dishes to choose from. Boy did I nail that one. I wasn’t SUPER impressed by the grilled beet appetizer. I did however enjoy my Mary’s Buttermilk Fried Chicken. It was succulent and the fried batter was just perfect. I didn’t even feel that the fried egg on top was necessary honestly. I pushed it off to the side, but I guess that’s what makes it a breakfast menu. My mother’s tune melt was also pretty good. My wife and my father got the Eggs Benedict and the Huevos Rancheros were both fine. Nothing was bad, but considering nobody at the table had any drinks, and we all shared one appetizer, and the bill for four came to 89 bucks, I was a little turned off. Just seems like a lot for a brunch consisting of no alcohol. In any case, you can check the prices and see if they’re right for you, but for me personally, the brunch at least wasn’t worth the price tag. That being stated, I probably need to try their lunch and dinner items to get them a more fair shot. In any case, I left a lot more hip than when I entered and my beard was way more styled. So it all worked out in the end.

This is a cute restaurant with great food. Came here with a dozen others and they had everything set up for us(we made a reservation). The hostess, servers and the other staff was wonderful. We were here for brunch on a Saturday and they had lots of delicous items to choose from. I had the trout and grits with bacon, a fried egg on top with some hollandaise. It was amazing!!! I highly recommend this place.

Every meal I’ve had here has been so gorgeous. My favorite dish was a romanesco salad which I was not expecting to love as much as I did. The presentation is clean and elegant without feeling pretentious. And they have a nice selection of wines. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, but can feel just a teensy bit too industrial/rustic for my taste(dark color pallet, polished concrete, reclaimed wood, etc.). But that is really a non issue compared to everything else that is perfect about this place. And although I’ve never sat on the patio, it seems very nice. The service is the cherry on top for me. I don’t think there are many restaurants in Salt Lake that can hold a candle to some of the servers I’ve had here. They are kind, knowledgeable, down to earth, and just overall completely lovely. I can’t wait to come back soon!

So… you are sitting at home and thinking to yourself, «Geez, I could really go for some rich Lamb Gnocchi or some BBQ Beets right about now.» If you are then go to Pago right now! It’s the only place I know of that has both of those delicious items… and booze!

Pago is one of my favorite restaurants in SLC as of now. I recently went for dinner and breakfast and the food and experience is phenomenal. I’ll admit that it is pricy, but the dinner was my favorite. We sat at the bar and watching the food being prepared and everything coming out was very entertaining. We got the duck and a steak that was cooked to perfection and the accompanying food was amazing. Their was a sweet potato purée with the duck that was well matched. Pago had some great wine selections that rival anything in the state. Pago is keeping it up and I look forward to going back.

I’m all over the place on this but I have to update my review again. The GM at Pago did reach out to me this week with so much graciousness, that I’m a fan again. I look forward to returning to a place that cares about their customers.

I had walked by this restaurant many times and thought that one day I may go and try it, but tonight(1÷23÷2016 around 6:00pm) I was out with a friend and as we were walking by, she mentioned wanting to try their food, so we decided to walk in and see if they had any room for us. We weren’t exactly up to dress code, but they had room and it seemed we weren’t so dressed down that they wouldn’t take our money. The ambiance of the restaurant is a more ‘modern-rustic’ feel that works really well with the ‘farm to table’ theme they have going on. The music was at a nice level and the little oil ‘candles’ on the tables were a nice touch. The table set up is uncluttered and clean. All the cutlery was spotless. It’s kind of annoying to go to a restaurant that’s trying to be upscale only to get cutlery with spots on it. The same with all the glasses, even the water glasses. It was really appreciated. Our server, Taylor, was extremely professional in the way he worked and presented himself. He was friendly, but not overly friendly and invasive. He was also knowledgeable about the food and beverages being served. I could also see he was very attentive and aware of his other tables. My dining companion and I decided that we would share the Artisan Cheese platter and also the burger. Both were absolutely delicious. The cheeses went wonderfully with the fruits and honey as well as the bread(which is apparently from a local bakery – the Pierre bakery on 3300 south). The meat on the burger was delicious. The fries were okay, but were pretty over done. Wine was good. I ordered the Giustiana and my dining companion ordered the Unlitro. Both were wonderful wines. We also tried the Hanky Panky, which was well made and sophisticated, but I don’t think I’d order it again due to my own personal taste preference. Mostly my experience was glowing. My only comments otherwise would be that the wall along the bathroom was in disrepair and could use a little fixing up. The seats were worn and ripped, but that didn’t seem as obvious and out of place as the disrepair on the wall. The other off putting thing was when a girl came to our table to refill our water glasses and we both moved our glasses toward her, but she only filled my dining companion’s glass. It was kind of a weird and awkward moment. Overall, my experience was a four star one. I like the concept and the food and drink was delicious. I would definitely like to return again in the future.

We have talked up the Burger at Pago for the better part of a year since the last time we had it… So we finally went to have it again with some friends that had never been to Pago before… all the while talking up what we had said was one of the best burgers in town… Well…NOPE…it was not… This time the server greeted our table by saying«well nothing really special tonight» which wasn’t that big of a deal because we were all getting burgers… Let me tell you… they were dry and overcooked… a real disappointment not to mention the Truffle Fries all though looked good… were cold… if we had a server that seemed like she gave a hoot we would have said something… Instead we made good with the conversation and ambiance. We still had a nice eve… just a crummy burger…

An unforgettable chef’s tasting that is more than just a meal, it’s an experience. I have had the pleasure of doing two separate tastings at Pago and both times I was surprised and delighted by the meal and wine paring we received. The quality of food and skill used to create the dishes are top notch. One of the courses was a carrot tasting. I admit I was a bit skeptical, thinking how interesting could this be? Well the chefs skillfully transformed this humble ingredient into something magical and delicious. Course after course was another delightful journey. The meal was both surprising and delightful while still maintaining respect for the ingredients. Service was perfect. Attentive with out being overly invasive. Our drinks never ran too low but we could have great conversation without feeling like we were being interrupted too often. Our servers were knowledgable about each course and pairing. The wines selected were fantastic. It was a treat to be able to taste wines from around the world, wonderful ciders, and even one vintage that is not sold at all in the US but part of the chefs personal collection brought in from Spain. All this in a gorgeous restaurant with a sophisticated but unpretentious atmosphere makes Pago a real gem in Salt Lake City.

Nicest, nicest staff. Hosts, servers, everyone. We were able to sit right down at 11:30 on Sunday, though I imagine it can get rather busy too. I had the Pago breakfast and grapefruit mimosa. Fairly small portions, but tasty nonetheless. Wishing I had gotten the Croque Madame, which my friend ordered and said was ah-mazing. Really pleasant space in one of the most charming Salt Lake communities. Yay yay yay.

Came here for brunch. Service was great. We got the $ 3 mimosas(with either orange juice or grapefruit juice), scones(chocolate chip and dried cranberries), Croque Madame and the dutch pancake. Dutch pancake — tasted a lot more eggy and much fluffier than typical pancakes. It was good. Scones — not bad but also not amazing. Just regular scones. Croque Madame — a bit greasy but pretty delicious. They drenched it in lots of sauce. Mimosas — good.

Pago is one of my top 3 choices in Utah. Upon entry, you’re greeted with the receptionist & kitchen staff. My meal started with a freshly prepared warm apple cider. The Idaho caviar was placed beautiful on the plate and blended in my mouth. Never would I have thought that I would enjoy a variety of carrots cooked in different ways. The surprise risotto dish was quite a treat but filling. My main entrée — steak was filled with surprising flavors from the acidic mushroom to well-sautéed greens. The second surprise dish for the evening was quite a treat with the warm melted cheese, slices of fresh apples and freshly fried chips. My dinner ended well with the small but perfect portion of dessert containing hazelnut croutons with caramel sauce & diced pears. I was incredibly well attended by my server I’d work on the cleanliness of the plate and utensils.

This review is solely on Pago’s customer service, err, lack of– My husband and I were visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday and were thrilled to visit one of the best-acclaimed restaurants in Salt Lake. We made our reservation via Open Table two months prior to our visit for Wednesday. A week before our trip my husband received a voicemail, ‘This is Pago calling. We’re calling to let you know we’re closed on Wednesday and we’re cancelling your reservation. Bye.‘ We were put off by the abrupt call-No alternate day/time offered, no call-back number provided… so, so disappointed.

I listened to a podcast about the restaurant community in Salt Lake, and the guest went on and on about Pago. He said it was the first restaurant of its kind in Utah. They focus on the farm to table concept with a seasonal menu. We’ve tried a lot of great places in town, so I thought Pago would be a fun one to visit. We shared an appetizer and 2 entrees. The appetizer was called BBQ beets with smoked honey, toasted grains, yogurt, and a shaved root slaw. It was pretty fun, probably my favorite thing we got. We also had a beet salad when we went to Pallet, and both were great. So I’ve been buying beets a bit more and pleasantly surprised. I do think they need to be paired with something creamy like yogurt or goat cheese. For our entrees, Greg ordered the Pago burger with bacon, gouda, pickled onion, black garlic aioli, and truffle frites on the side. This was a great burger! They even cut in half for us since they we’d be sharing it(I always appreciate that). I was worried about the pickled onion, but it ended up being fabulous. A really nice acidic crunch with the rest of the warm, familiar flavors. It wasn’t the best burger I’ve had, but it was really great. I ordered the gnocchi with Morgan Valley Lamb Bolognese, heirloom tomato, cured egg yolk and topped with chevre. We buy gnocchi all the time at Trader Joe’s but I have never had fresh gnocchi and it was really good! Very soft, little pillowy wonders that picked up the sauce really well. I had high hopes for the bolognese because I don’t ever eat lamb and it sounded fancy. Maybe it’s because I’ve upped my red sauce game in the last few years, but I thought it tasted really similar to what I make at home. That was a bit disappointing but I still really enjoyed the dish. The service was great, but possibly too great, if that’s a thing. I like being taken care of but I don’t necessarily want the waiter to refill my water glass every time I’ve taken a sip. Of course, that’s a first world problem, but I felt like our waiter visited us SO much that it became an interruption every time. All in all, a great place to eat!

Ok so I was looking for a place for my 100th review(Yay!) and ended up in Pago for dinner. If not for Unilocal,I would never notice this place because it’s small and the main signboard is not very prominent. Parking is difficult as the street parking is always full, but there is Smith’s right by the corner if you are desperate. The place was only three quarter full on that Monday evening, so we were seated right away despite being 20 minutes earlier than our reservation. The interior is made up with wooden tables and brick walls. Ambience is classy and dimmed enough for a date night, but can be casual as well. Soft music plays in background. We were immediately given stacks of menus — the main food menu, the chef’s tasting menu(which costs like 65/person), the cocktails menu and the wine menu. Browsing through, they don’t actually have a large spread of dinner selections. Only a handful of small and large plates. We wanted to try as many things as possible, so we ended up with one large plate — The Lamb Gnocchi and two small plates — BBQ Beets and Pumpkin Risotto, which is not in the menu. When the Lamb Gnocchi(23 dollars) arrived, my first impression was the portion is small. Seriously, is this supposed to be a standalone meal? It is just minced lamb with few soft gnocchis in tomato and cured egg yolks sauce, which makes this feels expensive. I would feel better if it comes with side breads or something. The first bite is strong with lamb taste, followed by the sourness of the tomatoes, so in the taste department, this meal is not bad. It is tasty. I would prefer the gnocchi to be not as soft though. The BBQ Beets(9 dollars) is delicous and gets full mark for dish presentation. The red splash from the beets even makes this qualify as Halloween treats. It tastes wonderfully sweet and sour and the sesame sprinkle on top makes a nice addition to the overall bite texture, although those sesame does tend to get stuck in your teeth. Mind you, with only 4 beets, this dish is not going to fill you up. The Pumpkin Risotto(12 dollars) is the winner of the night. It is creamy and full with pumpkin bites. Overall, this place does have interesting dish, but small portion makes the price to be on the higher side if you need to order multiple plates to fill you up. Ambience was good and the service was spot on. I would recommend this for a special night out.

Salt Lake City, UT: I’ve been raving about how amazing this place is since my friend brought me here for dinner earlier this year. I thought it’d be fun to celebrate Father’s Day brunch with my pops. Sadly, Pago’s breakfast/brunch just doesn’t have the same magic as their dinner. First, the good: their scones deserve full marks. Don’t be deceived by how tiny the scones are — they’re dense, awfully filling, and go well with the house cultured butter and Amore jam. The meh: my parents enjoyed their Utah trout but weren’t wowed. They ultimately gave the dish a score of «7÷10.» The sad: My huevos rancheros was just a pitiful, pitiful dish. What is normally a colorful, vibrant dish with complex flavors was just mushy, sad, and certainly not worth $ 10.00. I still like Pago and will definitely be back for dinner. I won’t be back for brunch — Utah has so many better options for morning time meals.

Great new american dining. Loved. Good beer and wine list(while a bit limited) and very good and diverse menu. Service is so very warm and friendly. Start with the oysters and cauliflower. Then try the steak, pork, and whole trout(this is big enough for 2). All very good and won’t disappoint. If you’re lucky, you can also eat outside in their cool little patio.

I have been eyeing this place for quite some time and after a failed previous attempt to go for dinner on a Friday night without a reservation, I finally made it here for lunch. Make a reservation if you’re planning on dinner, or in general just to be safe, because it’s a pretty small space. I’d say 10 – 15 tables max. Their hours are limited and their menu is short, but I beg of you, DONOT let that stop you from going. I made a reservation for Saturday lunch just to guarantee that I’d be able to eat here. I went with a group of girlfriends and we all got the Pago burger and it was no joke. Dinner is more expensive, but still reasonable. Everything on the menu sounded good that I was only able to decide on something because I also decided I have no choice but to return. Please. Just go.
