The first time I visited, it wasn’t obvious that it was a seat yourself kind of place, but we figured it out. It was definitely busy, not a lot of room to move around but I took it as a sign that the food must be great. I was not disappointed, definitely looking forward to going back soon!

Not a breakfast guy. Everywhere I eat breakfast, I get the same thing. Denver omelette with no cheese. And this place does it amazing. I didn’t think I was gonna like it by looking at it but everything was perfectly cooked and blended well together. I usually like oily and very crispy hash brown but I found myself eating alot of theirs for some reason. Soft, but pretty good! This place is definitely not friendly for large groups so plan on being split up or waiting a while for tables to become available. It’s a busy place but there’s pretty much no wait to sit. It’s a seat yourself joint.

This is another place I’ve eaten at literally dozens of times. It meets expectations for a diner style restaurant. The breakfast is solid and usually done well. The best thing about OTC is the service and that for years they only took cash. I loved that because it means«hey, we know we are cool and you’ll still eat here». You always get fast and friendly service.

Very solid breakfast. Good quality food without a lot of grease. I was very impressed with their breakfast burrito which was not oversized but excellent. Their breakfast. Potatoes were just ok but they were not swimming in oil like most great breakfast potatoes. The table service was excellent and very cheerful. I saw a parade of really tasty looking items while I was enjoying my meal. I will be back… Yes I will be back.

After arguing with my spouse for a half hour about where to eat, we drove past OTC Café and decided to just take a chance on this little diner inside of a strip mall. It was around noon and thankfully, it wasn’t too busy because you seat yourself. A waitress came by and greeted us pretty quickly. And it didn’t take me long to pick the #4, steak and eggs, and my husband to order the Trainwreck. It was maybe five minutes and we got our meals. Crazy speedy Okay, so what was weird about our food was that it tasted delicious but it bordered on lukewarm-cold except for the eggs. The eggs were hot. We still haven’t figured out how that happened but we were ravenous and so we just ate it anyway. Also, we never really got our drinks refilled but they had a drink station set up so we figured it was self-serve. After getting a gentle chide from another server about it actually not being self serve, we just waited with empty drinks. It seemed like all the servers shared work so it could be a little confusing at times but it worked out sort of! In the end, it was great and I’d love to come again because their coffee was on point, and their eggs were perfect, also they butter their toast like they’ve never heard of restraint or calories before which is a truly glorious thing.

If Park Café is a cool hipster, OTC is like its edgy, rough-around-the-edges brother. Different vibe but both have stellar breakfasts. This place has no frills or fancy art. But you’ve got the hardworking short-order cooks behind the counter and lots of good hearty breakfast food. We all loved it. Our server was fun and honest and confessed a hangover but we didn’t notice it — she was still prompt and friendly with everything. Good, solid service. No wait on a Saturday at 10am and tons of tables — the restaurant actually spans two storefronts so is much bigger than it looks from outside — huge bonus points in my book since the other more popular brunch spots guarantee a wait.(When we left an hour later there were about 5 parties waiting.) No fancy details like self-serve coffee while you’re waiting — here you have to stand in the cramped space right between the door and the counter until a table or stool frees up(which thankfully doesn’t take long), but you’re here for the food, people. I got the #2 combo(2 eggs, home fries, English muffin, 3 slices of bacon) and it was delicious. I wasn’t picky about the crispyness of the potatoes or the bacon like some reviewers said so I enjoyed it — it was all tasty and filling. And $ 6.29? Can’t beat it. My husband got the breakfast burritos(2 flour tortillas, 3 eggs scrambled with spicy ground beef, cheese, topped with homemade salsa, sour cream & home fries, $ 9.45) and said they were killer. Looked a bit sloppy on the plate but they tasted amazing. Our toddler’s kid meal(1 egg, 1 bacon, home fries and piece of toast, $ 3.99) was enormous and my husband was happy to eat the leftovers. I think our friends got an omelet and the French toast and they loved it. Good coffee. Prompt refills. Quick check but didn’t feel rushed out despite the line. We left happy and looking forward to our return.

Great environment, delicious food, reasonable price, it’s just a little greasy and unhealthy but it’s a diner so what can you expect? Their scones are absolutely amazing, I definitely recommend ordering one.

I sat at the bar, waited for probably 7 minutes while waitresses walked by me ten times and then I left. Did they think I was there for something else?

I was reviewing Feildmans Deli and somehow switched to this restaurant. Oops. I have never been here but now I feel the need to try it!

I love sitting at the counter at the OTC. It’s like going to a dinner and a show but it’s breakfast time and people watching. They are usually quite fast and have an extremely friendly staff. The food is good also. I love the OTC skillet and they make really good strawberry pancakes. They also put up with me customizing my order a bit which is always nice!

I’ve heard good things about OTC so I finally decided to give it a try while in the area. The neighborhood is cute-Millcreek has a good vibe. The location is quaint and cute. The restaurant was busy but there wasn’t a wait. I like the transparency, you can see the grill from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant. The server was super helpful and patient, she was willing to go over the menu and make suggestions. I asked for my eggs soft scrambled and my potatoes crispy – neither one was done. Granted, asking for special requests at a diner like this may have been my own mistake. This place is good, the food was ok. It’s a take it for what it is kind of place. I think it’s probably a good place to cure a hangover.

Greasy spoon with a unique open and central cooking/griddle area. Generous portions cooked pretty well. Some of the bacon was a little overcooked. Would eat here again!

On first glance this is your standard diner type atmosphere. I love that it is seat yourself and all staff cover all areas so you are not waiting for«the assigned staff». Menu is pretty standard with breakfast and lunch offerings. The hubby had the breakfast burritos, which he said«had his number». He swears the salsa was home made. I had the pancake sandwhich. It was nothing spectacular, but good ol’ comfort food. For being a Sunday brunch, it was busy– but we never had to wait for anything. When we go back, I am going to try the French toast– it was flying out of the kitchen, it seemed like everyone was ordering it. It’s a standard diner vibe and food. We definitely will be back. Rated four stars for price and standard fare.

After experiencing an early morning weekend in salt lake with no good places open to eat at 6am, we stumbled across this place opening at 630 am, making it the earliest spot available(skipping all the breakfast chains). Salt Lake please open earlier! The hollandaise sauce was a no go, the coffee is decent, the Lb was good and the atmosphere is hip. Wu tang

I usually don’t leave reviews but, this place is stellar! The food is fantastic. Service was great. For a mom and pop kind of place it was VERY clean! The staff was VERY friendly! I definitely will come back!

Very good food, but it’s the neighborhood feel that I love about this place the most. I lived around the corner from this place for a year and a half and never visited it. So then I moved and decided that was the perfect time to visit, And I’m glad I finally did. Giving this place 5 stars considering some of my favorite breakfast places in town(heck, within a quarter mile of this place) might seem like a bit of a stretch, because the food is not the absolute best, but I really like the environment of this place, and the food is certainly very good. When you walk into OTC, the kitchen area is right there in front of you. They’re cooking out in the open, for all to see. There’s seemingly always a nice, big pile of potatoes going on the grill. The seating is all a little close together, but it works. The service is very friendly and attentive. At one point, I think I counted 4 different servers who had approached our table to fill up our water glasses. That’s pretty good service. Food-wise, I’m a fan. I had the breakfast sammy off of the specials menu. I got two over medium eggs with sausage and cheddar cheese on multi-grain toast, and it was delicious. The eggs were perfectly runny, just like they should be on a good breakfast sandwich. The sausage and cheese complimented the eggs perfectly. Really good stuff. And the potatoes are pretty tasty, too, but I think I’ll have them cooked a bit more next time for some extra crunchiness. This is the kind of place where I feel like everybody should know my name and say hi to me whenever I visit. That’s what I like the most about this place. It just helps that the food is really good, too. Price-wise, this place is as good as you’ll get for breakfast. And there is a very extensive menu, including specials and regular items. I’ll have to return many times to even make a dent in the menu – or just be really hungry a few times. Don’t overlook this place in your search for breakfast in the SLC area!

Our server was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food. My french toast with fresh strawberries and real whipped cream was so delicious!

Ordered a Denver omelette. It came to the table with the incorrect, raw vegetables. Watery and flavorless and not even fully cooked. Hash browns are also underseasoned and undercooked. English muffins were not cooked and came to the table with a pool of butter in the center. Not sure how the butter was so runny considering that the muffin was not cooked? Extra Eggs are stored next to the toilets.

The spot for brunch! If you’re around the east side you’d definitely want to stop by. Hours are from 6:30 am to 2 pm everyday. Café is the cutest and people are always so friendly there.

THEE breakfast spot on the Eastside. I’ve tried some of the others, yes… They are nice too, no disrespect. For the price and the quality(omg and the BACON), Over the Counter is the best bet. Seating is first come first serve, it’s pretty busy throughout breakfast. Generally, I’ll get a #2 or #3, but during this last visit I had the French Toast combo. Perfect food, great price, and the service ain’t bad either. It’s a weekend/eastside/brunch must!
