Decent coffee house. Limited food menu. Nice selection of coffee. The Bull Moose Burritos was kind of dry. It would have made a much better skillet than burrito.

We got burritos and a waffle it was delicious. The orange juice tastes like freshly squeezed. The coffee was great. Good service and great food. Also fast if you’re not looking for a long sit down meal. But also a nice place to chill. It works in all situations.

I live right by Red Moose and have been going fairly regularly for two months now and I absolutely love it. I don’t know what another reviewer said about the scones because they are actually my favorite pastry there! I’ve asked if they make everything in house and they do — this definitely impressed me. From their breakfast burrito to their(heavenly) spinach feta croissant, I’m definitely a loyal fan. I wish they had punch cards!

So I found myself standing before two low-talking, twenty-something, moon-faced girls refusing to acknowledge any sentient presence on the paying side of the counter. Three or four seconds would pass, and the girl on the right, avoiding eye-contact with a noticeable determination, scurried off behind the pastry case and out of my experience altogether. This forced the girl on the left, now alone and conscious of it, to step forward and ask with a perceptible cringe, what it was that I wanted. My answer, «a double-tall americano with room», was enough to incite the response«I don’t speak Starbucks, what size do you mean»?(her tonal disgust was quite obvious). I replied that I wanted a twelve ounce and so we proceeded with the payment ritual, the americano was shot and finally ransomed from over the counter, and I exited the Red Moose for the last time. I wish to address the management of Red Moose Coffee Company; your coffee is unremarkable but your service is terminal. Salt Lake has grown up, good coffee is no longer bound to lore, but is readily available throughout the city center. Good service will, if it does not build you patronage, buy you second and perhaps even third chances to impress your clientele. Buck’s-speak aside, the local coffee house is still a minority; there are fifty Starbucks listings in Salt Lake County alone. Why would you endorse the alienation of potential regular patrons when your income and commercial well being stand threatened from every direction? Why is excellence in service not a priority to your employees?

I was underwhelmed. I ordered the TBA(Turkey Bacon Avocado) sandwich for about $ 8. It had one partial layer of thin turkey and a couple pieces of bacon. I was really expecting a bit more meat on the sandwich. The bacon was crisp and the avocado was fresh, both pluses. I also enjoyed the sun dried tomatoes on the sandwich; however, the sandwich had too much bread for the amount of fillings. My friend ordered the tuna salad sandwich which was also on the small side. Both came with the basic lays potato chips and a pickle. The coffee was decent and there was plenty of parking but inside only had a few tables.

I frequent this coffee shop quite often with my pooch. They have a small patio to the side, so that you can enjoy your food and drinks while having your dog with you. The drinks are good, and the food is pretty good. I’ve had the Belgian waffle a few times, it’s been a hit or miss. Sometimes good, sometimes not so much. Their breakfast burritos are great, but could use something on the side. The ambience of Red Moose is more or less like, well, a coffee shop. Kind of a tight squeeze on the inside considering the size of the shop, but overall has a nice vibe.

Needed a chill coffee house to work for the day. After ordering a latte and a raspberry scone(even with the icing it wasn’t overly sweet, which I like), I set up shop and stayed for about 4 hours with no problem. Free wifi, nice staff, nice natural light and the wifi worked outside too.

I love this place! The muffins and breakfast burritos are amazing. Plus they gave a damn good cup of coffee.

Having been here frequently in the intervening year since I initially wrote the review, I have nothing much to add to the previous review, other than you may need to fish around a bit here. This is not one of those places where everything is great and some things, in point of fact, border on dreadful. Most things, particularly the bakery items, are either good to very good and service is always warm and friendly. I’m still pretty fond of their breakfast burritos and consider that the best thing to get, while my wife likes the sandwiches and my kid likes to go pick out stuff in the display window. All in all, this is a very nice local spot(generally lots of people with laptops hanging out and probably studying) and we never really have any qualms about going here. If you’re in the area, you could do a lot worse than hitting this place up.

This review comes while I’m still in the Red Moose Café. What a gem! I’m such a fan of these smaller local coffee shop/cafes like Alchemy and now Red Moose. I came here yesterday to grab a scone on a friends recommendation and thought why not go back and test their menu. I got their breakfast burrito with none other than bacon as my meat choice. While it was the best burrito I’ve eaten, the prices are reasonable. Their drink selection is plentiful. And their pastries are on point. The cranberry scone is a winner. But they have some massive cinnamon rolls and muffins that I’ll be sure to try out on my future visits. That’s right. I will be frequenting this place a whole lot more. Stop by and give it go.

This is my first time visiting the red moose. I wish i had more time, or known more about the menu, but I loved everything I got. We decided to walk here one Saturday morning, and it was a great idea! By the time we got there the coffee was perfect for us to warm up and the scones were incredibly good. A slight drizzle of frosting over the top if the scones was a bit unusual compared to others, but I think it was an excellent addition! I wish that I had more time because the special of the day sounded amazing; their quiche of the day. They’ve also got breakfast burritos and things for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. I will definitely be back and I cannot wait!

Good food, I recommend the«On the Run» off of the breakfast menu, and the«Moose Mocha» latte. Good parking, chill location, kind workers

Always on the lookout for breakfast burrito options in SLC. The breakfast burrito is an art & passion better recognized in our former home of LA than SLC, but I’m always hoping for winners is this City of Salt! Red Moose definitely scores high marks on their breakfast burrito, offering a vegetarian option(for the wife) and I had the chorizo. Both had a nice amount of spice. Not extremely large burritos, but right for the price of $ 5.50. Also got an iced coffee and hot chai. Both delicious.

Red Moose was delightful! I had an iced latte and the chorizo breakfast burrito for only 8 dollars! My chorizo burrito was delicious and my friend’a yogurt parfait was simple yet also great! The food portions are not huge, but the right size for our appetites. I would recommend this cute local shop to anyone! For a nice day they also have some outside seating available!

We went here this morning and enjoyed our breakfast. The scones were heavenly light — I had a a fresh Strawberry and Peach one that was to die for and a day old blueberry scone that was good — but the Strawberry /Peach was just fab! My husband had a tomato, onion, feta quiche that was very light and fluffy. We came for tea and scones, sorry not coffee drinkers. There was both outdoor and indoor seating — lots of dogs sitting out there enjoying the sun. Great place to eat breakfast and enjoy tea or coffee in the sun with your pup!

Servers are relatively rude and food is average. They have a few good plates but not enough to satisfy.

Their coffee has really improved lately. It is very flavorful and never skunky. Their pastries are incredible and their breakfast burrito with chorizo is one of the best in SLC.

Just discovered this great breakfast/brunch stop and I love it. Tasty sandwiches, good coffee and awesome breakfast specials on Sunday. Reasonably priced and nicely off the beaten path and away from the downtown hustle. Not the fastest in filling orders, but I never mind waiting in their very clean and comfortable atmosphere.

One of my very favorite coffee shops in SLC. Local, family-owned, great atmosphere. Always very clean, great service, and a student discount if you show your ID. My only beef with Red Moose is it closes so early in the afternoon(3pm)! But I’m proud to support local. It’s never been too crowded even this close to Wesminster — plenty of seating and space(so you aren’t hearing everyone’s conversations — big plus for me). Limited parking spaces in the lot but not a big deal to grab a spot on the street(only had to do that once.) Very good coffee and chai. AMAZING, generous-sized pastries, freshly baked. Never tried the lunch food but it always looks amazing.
