This place was a very delicious. The came for brunch and loved everything. The biscuits and gravy so good. The French toast was amazing. Homemade jelly was super good. I loved everything we got here. The restaurant was cute and the staff was nice.

We had a group of 6 people, arrived as early as 9 am on a Saturday and get table after just 5 minutes wait. Good start. Since we were waiting for others to come, our waitress served us free biscuits and jam. Awesome, waiting with free food equals no waiting. We sat outside since it was beautifully sunny. It was a bit cold but they have outdoors heaters so it wasn’t bothering at all. I’d recommend to sit outside if the weather allows. I had eggs benedict with hash browns. I learned that crab cake eggs benedict is off the menu so I settled with canadian style bacon. There are two things about this dish: one is it has exceptionally good hash browns. Another thing is I shared with a friend so I didn’t have to take leftovers, which I’m sure it will never be as good as first day. Three not so good about this dish: it’s a mediocre eggs benedict, the plate is not well — decorated and, this might sound funny, they brought me a wrong plate. I ordered canadian style bacon but it came with a huge piece of ham, which was confusing. The plate doesn’t have good presentation, I was purely getting just food, not pretty food. The poached eggs were not bad, neither was the hollandaise sauce, but the combination of it is not quite there yet. I’m a big fan of eggs benedict and have ordered it every time I go to a well-rated place and truly believe this place doesn’t have a memorable eggs benedict. Probably you should just order hash browns for the whole meal — this is indeed so good I wouldn’t stop if I have bigger portion. Afterall, despite all the things mentioned above, I still think you would have a great experience here with service staff and outdoor seating. P/S: order hash browns.

Biscuits are OK, not as good as I was hoping. The food was not worth the hour and a half we waited. Some of the rudest customers I’ve ever seen though, that has nothing to do with the food, but a four warning if you’re gonna stand around waiting for ever. Staff was nice

This is another triple D place we got to try in our stay at Salt Lake City. We had brunch on a Sunday here with family from the area and the place gets packed. Wait time for indoor seating took about 20 minutes even though they told us 30. So it was a plus we got seated earlier than later. Wait time for the patio was an hour. Even though the wait time is long, you at least get to walk around a cool area because the restaurant is at the base of a canyon and by a creek/stream. You at least get scenery. Foodwise, this place offers your classic diner fare. I’ve been to a lot of diners and this place makes their food with love. They offer free biscuits for appetizers and not only do they taste homemade, they are as large as softballs. They also offer homemade jam and it is delicious with the biscuits. *drool*

Ruth’s Diner is fantastic! I do prefer their breakfast/lunch menu to their dinner menu, but both are good. They have the BEST biscuits and jam. A couple of weeks ago a friend and I went for lunch & was seated within 10 minutes on the patio on a Saturday afternoon. We both ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Benedict and it was amazing. We each did half fresh fruit and half hashbrowns. The next week I went to Ruth’s for a first date. We wanted to sit on the patio, but there was a 45 minute wait for the patio or no wait for inside, so we opted for inside. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and my date ordered the guac burger. Both were very good. We shared a blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Very good. I love Ruth’s and will be back for sure!

Beautiful location, sprawling patio with plenty of shade, and a solid menu. Biggest downside is the popularity of this place, meaning long waits much of the time. I’ve been here three times, twice for breakfast and once for lunch. Portions are big and the food was executed well. Price is a bit high, but not bad considering the location and food quality. Mile High biscuits are not very good IMO, very dry, but they’re free so who cares. Had a great burger here. Service is hit or miss in terms of speed and attentiveness, but they are usually very friendly. Outstanding place if you can manage a weekday during an off time. Otherwise expect to wait 30 minutes or more. Still, the gorgeous canyon environs and creek will make your wait more bearable.

Big deck with lots of shade and lots of seating — which is good to accommodate the hordes. We got there at 10:30 am on a Sunday — 40 minute wait, which I guess is to be expected. Not much sun back there, so go on a warm day. Average diner food and cocktails — definitely all white processed grains used, although a lot of veggies on the menu too. Delightful live music. Yore going for the ambiance.

Finally got to try the highly raved Ruth’s Diner and the infamous mile high biscuits before our trip to the zoo. We opted to sit outside and sure glad we did — beautiful scenery to enjoy with your breakfast. Food — the biscuits and jam were just as good as Unilocal had braced me for. Fluffy and perfect with the tangy jam. We got the croissant sandwich and the spinach omelet and both were fairly good. The coffee was also strong and decent for diner coffee. Service — was one of the best I’ve received. Our server, Meghan was phenomenal and went out of her way ensuring our toddler had everything to keep her entertained and wiped down the highchair for us. Biscuits, service and patio — all 5 stars!

Doesn’t get any better than this place… the patio is amazing as is the food. Salmon burger, pasta, you name it this food is great. I haven’t been to one of their summer BBQs yet but I can’t wait to go. Oh and the live music many nights… what more can you ask for? Yes there is pretty consistently a wait, but, it’s worth it and you can wait in the patio bar and listen to the band. It will be worth your time.

Meh… Wait time was ridiculous Hosts were very pleasant No waiting space for those who have to wait. At least have a waiting area inside. especially if it’s super windy Could we at least get complimentary coffee or tea while we wait. The food was. Well it was. Let’s leave it there. Service was pretty decent. I asked for Limes for my Mexican centered Meal and this man gave me 1. 1 dehydrated Lime wedge. I’m like what in the hell is this? I asked for napkins for a full table. He gave me 2. I was like I’m done. Coffee was good.

Okay I am not from SLC and this place seemed to be in the middle of no where lol The restaurant itself is small and very busy. As we walked in, we were kindly greeted and put our name on the waiting list which the hostess said would be 20 – 30 minutes. We even got a buzzer as we waited. I loved that the inside of the restaurant was shaped as an old train car. Our buzzer rang after 20 minutes and we were seated. When we got to the table it already had two glasses of water and two huge dinner rolls which tasted good. Our waiter was friendly and explained the dinner specials. As we looked over the menu, I opted to try the fried mac and cheese. I thought it tasted great with the marinara sauce. For entrees I ordered the pot roast which came with mash potatoes and vegetables and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak that also came with mash potatoes and vegetables. I greatly enjoyed the pot roast. Meat was tender and tasted great. Our entrees also came with a house salad. Overall, I really liked this place. Great home cooking from a really unique kind of restaurant with great customer service(we never had to asked for a refill).

I’ve only been here for brunch, so I can’t speak to their dinner selections, although I have heard mixed reviews about it. Nestled up emigration canyon, it’s a beautiful drive to get there and if the weather is warm enough, sit outside on the patio to continue to take it all in. Every breakfast/brunch entrée is served with their famous mile-high biscuits and jams. A wide variety of breakfast items, surely there is something for everyone. Expect a wait, especially on a Saturday morning, but it’s worth it!

I had been told here numerous times in my visits to SLC. Finally got to go & of course there was a wait on a Sunday. If it’s nice out def choose to sit outside. Inside runs a bit warm IMO. To start you are brought home made bread that you could make a sammich out of. I chose to order the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich(boneless chicken breast dipped in buttermilk breadcrumbs, deep fried and tossed with Ruth’s honey sauce on a toasted ciabatta roll with bleu cheese coleslaw). I asked which sammich the waiter preferred the Fried Chicken or the Pulled Pork & he selected the Fried Chicken. Surprisingly this was a very tasty sammich w/a tanginess kick to it. I opted for the regular fries which were shoestring fries. Great sammich. Now I gotta checkout the pulled pork to see if it was the better sammich of the two. Take the drive to check this place out as they have some tasty food.

I finally get to have there biscuits and gravy after many attempts to get in. The lines are always long on the weekend. They are still pretty consistent on those delicious biscuits. Will go again with the bf.

My favorite thing to eat here are the biscuits and jam. I love a lot of items on the menu, but those are amazing. I rtecently had a salad there that was not up to par, not sure if it was the day, or if you should stick to breakfast food, so stay tuned for an updated review. They have a good system for seting, especially when it gets busy. If you are a coffee drinker and go on the weekend, you’ll appreciate the complimentary coffee around the side of the building while you wait. It is a nice touch for a busy place.

Love this place! The outdoor seating is awesome. I have loved everything I have ordered there, but my very favorite are the biscuits they bring out right at the beginning. They have this amazing homemade raspberry jam that I dream about. Perfect location for a weekend brunch in the mountains!

Ruth’s Diner isn’t too long of a drive from downtown Salt Lake City, and the lovely fall foliage makes the drive even better. We were seated promptly for breakfast on a Tuesday. I had the crab cake Benedict which was forgettable, but I loved the chicken fried steak entrée my boyfriend had. The gravy was so good, but there wasn’t quite enough of it so we ordered extra. Dip your free biscuits into that yummy goodness, and you won’t regret it. I’d definitely go back for the biscuits and gravy alone.

So many things to love about Ruth’s, where do I begin? I guess I’ll start with the location. Ruth’s is a little bit of a drive outside of Salt Lake, but close enough to still be able to access easily and quickly. It’s surrounded by trees and a large amount of seating is available on the back porch behind the building. It’s truly a beautiful and peaceful place to have brunch. As far as the food goes, it’s in general pretty good. Except for the biscuits. They are incredible. Honestly, I’m from Arizona and this past weekend was my second time at Ruth’s(the first being last summer), and the reason we came back is because I requested it. Because. Of. The. Biscuits. We’ve affectionally given them a name that Unilocal may not approve of so I’ll have to leave out. But basically, they’re that good. The biscuits and gravy are great because they use those biscuits in them. I had the country hash(?) the second time I went here and that was tasty too. They accommodated the changes I asked them to make, nbd, so that’s awesome as well.

We waited about 20 minutes to get our table for Saturday dinner, which is not bad at all. There waiting on our table were warm dinner rolls with butter, which was a welcome sight. We were hungry and let’s face it, this place isn’t actually next door. The place was understaffed so we got our main dishes before our soup and salads. Oh well. Didn’t i tell you we were hungry? I had Fresh Asparagus & Farfalle Pasta. It was very flavorful. I like how the sun dried tomatoes complementing the pasta and feta cheese taste. Very nice combination. Edwin had Chicken Fried Steak, which he liked too. I took a bite, and while it was good, it tasted the same as anywhere else. For appetizer, we had Baked Fontina. It was a soft crispy pastry filled with melted fontina cheese. It tasted so much better with marinara sauce. Overall, still a pleasant experience. The only drawback is how far this place is from Draper where we live. We will come back for sure, probably in summer when they have live music outside.
