I walked past this café everyday on my way to work and never knew this was there. I went for lunch during restaurant week and my roast beef sandwich exceeded my expectations. I wasn’t expecting much from a museum café but they took their time on presentation and even added a side salad. I like the outdoor seating during warmer months so I can bring my dog, but when restaurant week ended i forgot this place existed. They grow their own vegetables right outside!

This does have solid potential, as Nikki mentioned, but it seems unlikely to reach it, honestly. I like that they have libations there. That’s a handy touch for museums, but this is not quite good enough to be a hang out at the patio and swill beer deal. Ambiance is off for that and the music… eh. It’s a museum café(which almost always means afterthought), so yep, it’s going to be slow. It will also(and does) have a limited menu, mostly sandwiches and salads. It’s not a regular restaurant and it’s not realistic to expect much from it. The double chocolate cookies were excellent, sugar cookies ok, ultimate grilled cheese a bit underdone, but mostly ok and the cheese plate, while overpriced, was also ok. It’s hard for me to think of a reason to go here, though, given the proximity to several other restaurants. It’s probably better than it needs to be, but not more than just ok.

Perfect location if you are visiting the Leo. This is a nice bright modern space. You place your order at the cash register, and the people working there were really very friendly. Ordered the grilled cheese with salad(with Krispy kale). And a large bottle of beer. Although the place was not busy(nearly 2 pm), the food seemed to come really slow. The beer had been dispensed into glasses, which disappointed my eating companion(the bottle didn’t make it to the table). A bit picky, but so it goes. The Krispy kale was a fail, mine was a sodden clump that was distasteful. But underneath was a very delicious mixed green salad. The sandwich was good. Pesto and tomato and a medley of cheese — so how could it go wrong? I think this is an ok spot, but i wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Real potential here for a GREAT Bistro. Location is fun being inside the Leonardo and the name is catchy. Food was basic sandwiches, salads and teas. Meh! Want to see this place become phenomenal with some amazing fresh dishes… yes they could do a lot better than what I saw. Good luck guys, I will check in now and again. If you can add Gluten-Free options there is a following.
