I enjoy everything about Scallywags! I feel like it’s a «cheers» style bar! Everyone knows my name … Awesome drink prices and very friendly staff!

Hmm… this place was empty on a Friday night at 1030 and I have to wonder why if the huka and drinks are so cheap. They have karaōke which isn’t my thing(gasp! An Asian that doesn’t like to sing) but I guess when you’re drunk you drown out the noise of whoever is up there. The staff was super friendly and there isn’t a cover charge so… Why was it so dead? The place didn’t seem as rundown on the inside as it did outside so maybe people drive by it hesitant to check it out? I would come here again bc the staff was awesome to me and the huka comes out very quick and everything is inexpensive. I hope to see this place fill up next time.

Hey there’s hookah and weirdos at the bar. What more could you ask for? And the bartender Ryan, is a hottie. He’s a tall drink of water. My husband and I fight over him. You should leave him really big tips. And not just the tip, but seriously, this is a great dive bar with events and games. Including 2 pool tables, darts and shuffle board. Good place to hang out and get drunk at id say. Go on Wednesday nights those are the best.

$ 5 for a stein of cutthroat $ 5 for a shot of makers(1oz pour) and $ 5 for a hookah(I think hookahs might be more expensive on other days). So with a $ 20 bill I killed an hour and had a good time. Kind of slow but I did go on a Monday night so that may have skewed things. Pool was free but the felt was terrible so I wouldn’t make it a billiards destination. The bartendress/hookah girl was pleasant efficient and on top of things. I will be going back.

This place is such an awesome place to stumble upon. One of the only places you can still get REAL hookah in Utah. Reasonable drinks and dance floor with a pole upstairs. They have«torioke» every Friday night and the host Tori is a super fun chick who can sing amazing and make you sound even better than you actually are. Cant wait to go back again !

My friends and I finally made it to Scallywags on Friday night, and it is now our favorite pirate bar! While the décor is very fun and in keeping with the theme, there was nary a seafaring swashbuckler in sight. We were slightly disappointed, but didn’t let it stop us from having a great time! Lots of good things about Scallywags! There’s karaōke on the first floor, and the second floor is a bar and hookah lounge. Things were slow when we got there slightly after 10, but by the time we left at midnight it was hopping, and the crowd was diverse and interesting! We made a lot of nice, non-scary, acquaintances, and enjoyed people watching. I loved the balcony on the second floor and look forward to hanging out out there when things warm up a little. Finally, the beer was CHEAP. $ 2.50 for a pint of Shock Top meant that we drank a LOT of Shock Top. Shots were fairly reasonable as well. Barbary Coast is next up on Pirate Bar Tour de SLC2013, but we will be back to Scallywags! It’s a very cool place!

Who doesn’t want to go to a bar named for rapists, looters and thieves? Huka? Sure why not? Smell of mold upon entering a dark main level and heading up a depressingly musty stair case to a moderately empty bar area? What the hell. I’m not really sure what this place is going for honestly. I sat there for about 20 minutes before I realized I had been here once already when it was previously called Saints and Sinners. The huka aspect definitely ads an allure to this place that I would never mention otherwise. If it wasn’t for that I probably would have left. I don’t even know what possessed me to go in here to begin with. I mean it looks like you’ll get AIDS, or stabbed. But it was late and I wanted to kick it somewhere before heading home. I don’t know if I’ll be back, but it’s an… average experience.
