My favorite store in SLC, I love the selection and you can’t beat their prices. I have bought all my Christmas gifts there for the last 3 years. People love opening their meticulously wrapped gifts, and finding the treasures inside. You must go visit this store now!!!

A great place to burn a lot of money on a lot of nothing. Over priced shaving, bath, stationary products. Stuffy staff. $ 10 minimum on credit card purchases (single cards are the only things that suffer from this, and none of them are interesting, witty, or well designed anyway). You can kill time walking though, but not worth a trip here unless you’re shopping for the really pretentious type.

Walk into Tabula Rasa and you will feel as though you’ve entered the past. Quality, detail and elegance are not spared here. It is so easy to lose track of time in this delightful shop as you peruse its unique and enticing treasures. The staff will make you feel at home, yet treat you like royalty. If you are looking to surprise and enrapture, Tabula Rasa is your place.

Old world fun, quality, collectables, papers, pens and collectable quality attractions for the business, home, family, loved one. This is the place to move your game up a notch or two. Every corner opened up another dimension for me to peer into. Like Disneyland for Adults.

Tabula Rasa is unique, and one of the greatest stores anywhere. I love to browse through everything — so much to see, and all so wonderful. I bought a Cross pen there many years ago and I use it every day. I was just there yesterday to buy a refill — each one lasts for months and months. And I always make sure to visit at Christmas time. Their selection of cards, both boxed and singles, is extraordinary. And many, many other special gift items. And as mentioned, the service is outstanding!

This is a great place to go if you need a special card, stationary, or gift. I think pens make nice gifts and have bought several here. Customer service is excellent. The staff are knowledgable and patient and they take the time to truly help one find the right one. They will even gift wrap it at no extra charge.

So it’s expensive here, but the stuff is great quality. I have purchased some sealing wax and some paper and a pen, and I am always happy with what I get. The stationary is lovely, and the readily available ink pots and pens are fantastic. The staff is helpful and nice, the location is lovely, and they never let me down.

The guy helping me was a jerk. He talked in a manner that was so pretentious it made me sick. I could tell he was so bothered that I was wasting his time.

This place is just wonderful. I am a big fan of snail mail, and Tabula Rasa has everything I need to make my letters lovely from wax seals, beautiful stationary, and other ephemera. They also have a wide selection of upscale and unique gifts; an added bonus is that the sales staff is more than happy to help with any questions you might have.

Don’t ask, well, you don’t have to because, the store just «tells» you something’s up. My heck, with all the pretty paper and trinkets around this place we know where all those military boys will be comfortable buying their newly liberated partners a little sometin’ sometin’ for being their beau. They can even order invitations to the ceremony they have planned the next time they’re both in Boston, NY, or even Iowa, I hear tell.
Just walking into Tabula Rasa reminds me of the home of a close friend’s uncle who had a little place in San Fran. You are quickly overwhelmed by the gleaming pens and crystal balls placed ever so suggestively around the shop. This is like a DADT-​ready spy shop with all the secrets hidden in plain sight all beautifully arranged to piqué your interests.
And for those romantic nights when the two servicemembers share a communal shave they have old-​fashioned shaving kits and accessories. And what would a night be if you didn’t have a good «art» book to peruse while you share some quiet time after dinner before heading out to the foxhole in some foreign land.
To finish things off grab a wax seal to seal the thank you notes for all those precious gifts your buds will get you to celebrate your cross-​branch union. The only problem will be trying to decide what initial to get on the thank you notes. How do you decide who gets to be the «man» if you’re both in the Marines or… the Navy.
Never you mind, because the helpful staff at Tabula Rasa will gladly pull an instrument from the case for you to massage ever so gently before deciding it’s just the right gift for your significant other.

I love Tabula Rasa! One of the most unique stores in Salt Lake City. They carry many unique products like handbags, leather journals, Crane stationery, very nice pens and paper, and other fun trinkets.
The sales staff is always accessible and very friendly, but they never hover and definitely aren’t pushy. And best of all: the understand their products and can explain them thoroughly.
If you are looking for a unique gift (for yourself or others) you have to come check out Tabula Rasa. It’s definitely a fun experience.

Tabula Rasa is a beautiful store packed with all sorts of items that I adore, some quite affordable and some not at all affordable.
They carry an extensive amount of fancy writing pens and calligraphy pens as well as accessories like ink and sealing wax.
My favorite things to look at while shopping there are all of the fancy ornamented magnifying glasses. They are downright gorgeous and I would love to have one just to sit on my desk looking cool.
Endless amounts of stationary and writing journals abound and you can even get custom cards done up for weddings, etc.
Staff is very professional here and dressed to reflect that. Men wear suit and tie always and ladies look sharp as well.
They also did a very pretty complimentary gift wrapping job.
If you like pretty, fancy things, you will definitely love this store.

Chartaphiles of the world, unite!
I may have made that word up, but I’m sticking with it. Charta, Latin for paper, and phile meaning ridiculous obsession with. Dunno if it’s real, but chartaphilia definitely has a home at Tabula Rasa in Trolley Square.
I spent waaay too much time there last Saturday, persusing the paper products on display. They’ve got an incredible line of cards for all occasions. I was first greeted by their display of Christmas and Holiday greeting cards and was drawn into the world of yesteryear when your holiday greetings needed a stamp and not a «submit» button.
The store is laid out with different «pockets» of specialization. One area for their leatherbound journals, one for their personalized stationery, one for wax seals, one for the line of Montblanc pens they carry. They also have shelves full of catalogs for custom invitations and announcements.
In addition to paper products, they sell other items to accessorize your life: jewelry, accessories, scents, and event gifts from their cabinet of curiosities.
Truly a one-​of-​a-​kind place with unique items. None of them wholly necessary, each of them pricey, all of them lovely.

This store is beautiful in every way. The salesmen wear pressed shirts and ties, and smell great (thanks to Cartier. Get up close.) You can find a gift here for just about every occasion. Gorgeous cards that will make you want to practice your penmanship. Files that will make you want to organize your office. Soaps and hand lotions. And they have a great selection of very hip reading glasses (for your mother of course). Once I bought a gift here, had it wrapped, and then left it on a table at my house. It was so beautiful, in deep chocolate wrapping paper and a perfect bow, that I never gave it to my friend. It sat for a year, then I unwrapped it and kept the soap for myself. Oh well.

Best stationery store in town. Enter and feel like you’ve gone back in time — pre-​computer, pre-​email, pre-​telephone. Imagine sitting at an antique writing desk, with your beautiful fountain pens, inks and sealing waxes near at hand, a cuppa and classical music playing in the background — ahhhhhhh. I’m convinced I was born in the wrong century. i love buying stationery, collect old fountain pens and yes, i collect and use sealing wax and seals — this is my kind of place.
TR used to reside in the downtown mall where I visited them regularly, but they moved to Trolley square and eXpanded — wheeeeee. So much room now to put out more lovely things. They stock beautiful notecards, stationery, leather bound journals, delicious wrapping papers, fancy pens, thoughtful and unusual gifts, and have engraving for individualizing your stationery selections and wedding invitations etc. The service is excellent — helpful and welcoming, but not ‘over your shoulder’. Now all we need is some complimentary tea, and I’ll never leave the shop. thank you TR!
