Nice place. Food was good. Chef was great. Service was a little slow even though we got there before they got busy. We had ordered a few extras from the waitress but never received them but we weren’t changed at the end so I guess all ok there.

I thought that food was decent(not the best hibachi grill but decent). I don’t have issues with the food as much as I do with the experience, I feel if you go to a place like this the entertainment should be a big part of it, last night I was a little disappointed I thought the cook: chef would have been more engaging with our party(I had also observed other tables and felt the same way). However I thought the wait staff was kind and on point(meaning they always took care of our needs) the chef was well trained at what he did. This place can be more fun if you go in with the right attitude and everyone is as equal as you are employees or not. I will come back again only if I can’t find a more engaging type atmosphere

Went to Tepanyaki(ps. this is hard to find on Unilocal since it should be spelled teppanyaki) for a work party of my spouse and was very happy with my visit. We had a LARGE party of 48 and took up 5 grill tables, but im telling ya, these guys are efficient and we were all seated within a few minutes of our actual reservation time, and service was prompt as if we had just been separate groups. This is a very nice establishment, really clean and updated inside, very nice uniforms and the staff is beyond friendly. Our cook had apparently been there for at least 3 years as a few people at the table had been lucky enough to get him in past years work parties. He was very funny really friendly and though he didn’t do as many«tricks» as I would have personally liked to see, he did do some cool stuff, especially in comparison to the way Benihana does it these days. This comes in as a very close second to Bonsai in Sandy as my favorite Teppanyaki restaurant, I think that the food is just slightly less tasty and quality than Benihana, but again im not a huge fan of Benihana due to the fact that they are not as animated and fun. And again, Bonsai being my favorite has the best food and experience of the 3 in my opinion. The onion soup here was really good, and though they didn’t add as much veggies, butter or seasoning to the fried rice as the others it actually came out on par as far as taste as the other two. Our server was also very fast and attentive, many people had special requests and asked for extra things right as he was serving things(extra dressing, extra plates etc) and they were all filled quickly and courteously. I also observed the cooks at other friends tables and they were all really good, the one just across from us was very friendly and funny but not as animated with his cooking, and the one behind us was very animated and skilled with his spatulas and such, but not as talkative and friendly so they all have their skills and strengths, and I think ours who’s name was Alex was a good mix of it all, we were cracking up the whole meal! I would likely go to this location again because it is closer to my house than Bonsai, and id rather pass by Benihana(I live in NSL) to come here.

I love this place. The food is fantastic, and the sushi is pretty good too. They have a great lunch deal during the week — no hibachi(in that they don’t make the food in front of you), but it’s the same delicious food and at an amazing price.

Food was delicious. Had chicken and shrimp. Husband had steak and shrimp. Our chef was very entertaining and kept us laughing. Food was expensive but great for a date night.

Tepanyaki is a cool place. I really like the interior design of this restaurant. Service is good as well but a little slow. Food is about average to me. I loved the sushi here.

Had a really great time with my wife here. The food was good the performance was as well. We order a sushi roll before or meals which uh we didn’t need. The sushi was pretty good too. I would definitely come back to this place.

I think Tepanyaki is a delicious place. I am a shrimp and new york steak kind of guy and I definitely get noodles over rice but even the rice is great. My only recommendation is that they train there grill guys to be a little more outgoing and friendly. It’s probably a job that can get pretty mundane.

We’ve tried this location a couple of times and have been disappointed every time. The food is ok but the service is definitely lacking. We’ll drive to West Jordan before going to this location.

Always a good experience when we come here. The chefs have fun and try to involve the customers. The food is always good and of course, fresh! Only negative I can see is occasionally you get a shrimp in the eye when the chef has you try to catch one in your mouth. :)

Do you want to try a place where you get a show and dinner? Try out Tepanyaki’s then. Entertaining chefs that will wow you with every spin of the egg. The food is alright nothing super awesome. But it is always entertaining for sure. Try it sometime with a group of your friends.

Everything was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly! We had Lou as our chef and he was awesome! He had lots of jokes and of course the standard ‘egg roll’ and shrimp toss. I had the chicken and filet, which was cooked perfect. Sometimes hibachi places use too much oil or butter but this place didn’t! I was still very full at the end but didn’t regret a pound of butter, like they use at Benihana.

amazing filet mignon!!! every time i crave good beef, i crave tepanyaki. i love how tender and juicy the meat tastes! the salad dressing is also addicting, and i love the veggies! i’ve never tried the sushi here. the service is hit and miss. it depends on who your chef is. the show is always the same. i don’t love shrimp flying at me, but they never will let me try it without throwing the little piece towards my face.(i ask every time!) its expensive, but like i said, best filet mignon ever! treat yourself for birthdays, anniversaries, or a girl’s night out.

Okay — so I sat at the sushi bar & tried a few rolls and a little sushi and I must say… I am very impressed. It’s not the best in the state, but the place is doing much better than my previous reviews & I will go back again and again just to sit and have a quick snow roll! To add to it, they over charged me($ 170,00) went I took my team for a work party & the manager made it right for me with no issues at all! Honesty goes a long way with me and I must say they made it right!

Overall– B– As far as Tepanyaki style restaurants go, you’ll get your personal chef cooking in front of you, doing the onion volcano and spatula flipping. But compared to other restaurants of this style, there are better ones for the same price. Food– C The reason for this low grade has several reasons: All the food was very bland. Not much seasoning at all. I ordered steak and chicken. It’s pretty hard to ruin filet, and while it was cooked very well, it had little flavor. The chicken had the right amount of teriyaki sauce, however, it was cut poorly with too much fat. The scallops(which one of our party got) were not so much scallops, but rather sting-ray plugs(at least according to taste). The vegetables were lacking in flavor. I tried to make it up with the sauce, but the sauces were watered down and lacking. Service– A My water cup was never empty. I’m not hard to please as long as I have something to drink. Location– A Good location, close to the freeway, lots of parking Ambiance– A– This restaurant is all about ambiance. I’ve seen more personable chefs though. Price– B+ When it comes down to it, price is directly related to quality of food. The prices at these types of restaurants are typically higher because of the personal chef. Expect to spend at least $ 16/person or $ 22/per if you want more than one type of protein.

Went to Utah for skiing during winter vacation and had a great experience here! I have been to many Japanese places in LA but this one impressed me! Don’t think they have a really good sushi place in Utah! The FOOD: The fish was fresh, the rolls werent too much rice. love heir mussel shooter, spicy and yummy at the same time! we tried their tepanyaki too! The chefs were friendly and funny! Love their performenace! I have tried other steak house in LA but they are not as good as this one! I ordered halibut steak with noodle, the fish was fresh And flavorful! So in love with their dressing n the salad bowl! It’s unique and different w other places that I tried before. For SERVICE: the host and the servers here were nice and friendly, nothing to compalin about. STRONGLYRECOMMEND this place for everyone! Def would come here again for our next trip to Utah!

My biggest upset: they don’t have the«WHITESAUCE»! My most favorite sauce about tepanyaki is the white sauce. I’m not sure if this is a Utah thing or a western thing or specific to this restaurant, but I’m used to having three sauces at hibachi: ginger sauce, a white sauce, and the mustardy sauce. I live for the white sauce!(okay, you know what I’m about. forgive me!) Anyway, the fried rice that our cook made did not have enough flavor. I should have said something about it when he asked, but maybe it was obvious because I was adding more soy sauce and a LOT of that ginger based sauce into it… The steak was okay(missing the white sauce). They offered noodles in place of the rice; I tried my husbands and it tasted much better than the rice. However, all of this is depending on whoever is cooking, though, right? Soooo, it just depends. The restaurant is okay, not the cleanest I’ve ever been to, but it’ll do. I wouldn’t come back, mainly because they don’t have the white sauce, though.

We usually love Tepanyaki but usually go to the Layton location. This location had average customer service and the Sushi was poor. I ordered the Geisha special which I do quite often, the chef thought he was being a great guy as he shared my portions with others around the table who had only ordered Sushi. Not impressed. Will not return there.

Came here for lunch midweek when my sisters flew into town for a visit. There is no seating around the hibachi or any of the fun showmanship they are known for during the lunch menu hours. During lunch you are seated in the sushi bar area of the restaurant and are presented a very, very abbreviated lunch menu. There were about 5 options ranging in price from $ 5.95 to about $ 11. Additionally, there is also the full sushi menu available. I ordered the unagi maki roll and was shocked to find that my measly little $ 5 roll came with a salad course, miso soup, fried rice and two chicken wings. Wow! My littlest sis had the alaskan roll(fitting, since we lived in AK growing up) and a side of «fried noodle». My other sis had the teriyaki chicken and my BF had the new york steak plate which was just little cubes of meat all lonely on the plate. Very similar to what you get at dinner, just wee little portions. The sides make up for it and no one left hungry. The food is not super great. Nothing will wow you or amaze you whatsoever, but that’s not why people come to Tepanyaki in the first place. I added the 4th star because of the exceptional value of the lunch menu, and because most non-foodie types love this kind of food. Our service was also very attentive and we didn’t wait long at all and I was back at work well within my one hour lunch break time frame. Everyone at the table had a filling lunch and we ordered way too much not anticipating getting the soup & salad, rice and chicken wings with our entrees. I assumed that was just a dinner thang. I had to be rolled out to the car afterward. For a party of 4, our check was only $ 35 pre-tip. I felt like that was a really cheap, luxurious lunch and I would definitely go back for more in the future.
