The tap room has a great scotch and whiskey list. The prices are fair, especially for Utah. Personally I’m a big fan of Laura and Garrett, but all the bartenders here do a pretty great job. The simplest way to say it would be fair prices, good booze, and great staff.

Greeted by an instantly rude bartender with zero people skills. Half of our party left immediately. Decided to stick around and play some pool but the drinks were overpriced and the crowd was old and crotchety. I don’t know why anyone would choose to come here over the many other great bars in sugarhouse. I would avoid this place if you are in the area.

A friend and I had really poor service from a bartender. Ruined the experience for me. Save yourself some grief and go to a good bar in Sugarhouse — there are plenty nearby that are far better.

This little bar has 2 rooms: 1 bar area and game room. The game room consists of 1 pool table ($ 1.00/game) a pinball machine ($ 0.50/game or $ 2.00 for 5 games) and 2 dart boards. The music is so low that you can barely hear it. The noise is from other people’s weird conversations. Plenty of places to sit and pretty spacious. Servers are friendly and come by to take our drink orders pretty frequently. Drinks are fairly cheap too! Finding the place is a little tricky but it is on the south side of the building of Even Stevens.

I like this place as it has a very local vibe with quite a few «regulars» and it is very toned down. They have a good sized bar with a row of 4 tv’s over it, as well as some pool tables and another tv in the larger room. Even on a «busy» night at Tap Room, it still doesn’t feel that crowded compared to many of the other bars around.
They do breaking bingo (Monday) and geeks who drink trivia (Wednesday), and those are both fun nights to go and relax and chat with friends and the friendly people who come here. It is mostly an older crowd, but not exclusively, which is just the kind of vibe I enjoy.
The service has always been good here, and again, it’s a small bar so you aren’t really ever waiting for anything.
Everyone has their own personal preferences for what a bar should be of course. Some like it wild, loud and crazy, but I prefer the Tap Room.

I have been a patron of the tap room since I turned twenty-​one. That little shack in Sugarhouse was the first bar I was considered a «regular» at (meaning they stopped ID’ing me when I came in for a beer.
Fast forward years later .
The new Tap Room sucks. Older crowd for sure. I was hit in the face by a girl and then kicked out aggressively by the bartender (playing bouncer/​security) and assaulted by regular «Zeus» for, as far as I can tell, looking gay.
Oh did I mention the boyfriend of the gal who hit me tattled to the bartender that I had «inappropriately touched» his girl. Guess what? Can’t press charges on the bar but I can press charges on the young girl. Where is the responsibility?
If you have ever been assaulted at a bar I recommend you avoid this bar. If you haven’t it might be a good place to learn some life lessons. #dharmalab

Decent beer selection, friendly service, solid dive bar. It wouldn’t be my go-​to place (the regulars are a little too… regulary?), but it’s fine for a drink or two.

Great Little Neighborhood Bar. they recently opened up another side to this bar with a pool table. they have an outside patio that is great during the summer to get out of the heat and cool off in the shade. the drinks are reasonable and they have GUINNESS on TAP ya i’m happy with that. «Just ED» and «Tiff» are great Bartenders. this place has kind of an older crowd that comes here regularly but those old kids are pretty entertaining. if you’re looking for a good quality bar and great staff this is your place :)

This was one of the first bars I ever went to when I first moved here. It was in that little crowded shack next to fats so it’s fitting to be my 100th review. I’ve seen the sign for the new location and decided to finally check it out.
The staff is still friendly as ever and I must admit the patrons kick ass as well. Everyone there was great, the random conversations were fun and the regular drunkards were professionals. By that I mean they were happy and friendly, no BS just good olé happy drunks like myself. So yeah a great crowd that genuinely loves this place. One of the longtime patrons that I was speaking with genuinely felt sad that since the move the crowd has tapered off, and when the patrons have love — you’re doing something right. So if any other locals want to get together for a beer, hit me up.
Lastly, decent rum selection (always could be better) and cheap pints.

I hate to even review this place, for fear it may get crowded. But I’ll take a chance on the cat getting out of the bag, and sing the Tap Room’s praises. This bar is in an unlikely location… the old Este pizza place. As a result the crowd is pretty small and pretty chill. I prefer small crowds, but even with a few more folks this bar is great. Its a little divey, but nice enough to please your more demanding friends. The service is friendly, the drinks are cheep, and the patio is AWESOME. I am a sucker for a good patio and the Tap Room totally succeeds in creating a fun outdoor atmosphere. Skip the more crowded campfire lounge, or strange layout of sugarhouse pub and give the tap room a try. It seems to have the right balance of a nice but divey laid back bar.

I love the new location if the Tap Room it is better than the old one. The patio area is very nice! I am glad that they are putting in a full kitchen. They also have good priced beers and liquor. I look forward to going here again!

Being new to Salt Lake City, I was unfamiliar with the old location for this fine little pub. I see it while driving all the time, and have wanted to see the inside. Today was that day.
I sat down at the bar and found the people who frequent the place to be very friendly and very welcoming. My type of place. Not the biggest bar in the world, but what it lacks in size it makes up for inexpensive liquor and friendly customers. I’m sure I will be back. It’s very close to our house.
And it’s one of the few places that actually has Bulleit, my favorite bourbon. Both kinds. The Bourbon aka Frontier Whiskey… and their rye whiskey which is quite tasty as well. I think the outdoor seating area is quaint. It might be a good place to go on a cool summer night. Well done.

So I wasn’t sure about these guys relocating to another spot in Sugarhouse? Because I loved the feel of the basement bar of the old spot. But after stopping by again and trying it out. I was very happy they kept the same feel to the place. Same prices and as an added bonus a better patio in my opinion. As always the staff is friendly and fast at getting your drinks to you.
