The food is good. I get the lo mein and sesame chicken all the time. I also like the beef and broccoli.

Usually pick up the Chicken with pineapple and ham fried rice. The food isn’t amazing and the rice seems undercooked and hard but I still come back.

They gave me a peice of paper clip in my noodles and there was hair in each one of my orders I didn’t even eat any of the food so that was 56 $ to waste. I even took the food back and nope it was against there policy… don’t eat there.

Nasty frozen re-heated tasteless food and unfriendly staff. Never again.

If you believe that quantity has a quality all of its own, this is the place for you. It’s one of the least expensive restaurants I’ve been to in a long time when you factor in the amount of food you get per dollar spent. That being said, the food is «okay». It is basically on par with any other Chinese takeout joint. Service is what should be expected at a restaurant like this, could be better and have had worse. The food is sometimes inconsistent, They have made me some really good Szechuan pork and some mediocre Szechuan pork. But if you are really hungry and the stars all lineup for a better than average dish, you came to the right place.

Try the beef and mushroom or the yang chow fried rice. The pot stickers are really good too. The service is usually quick, but I agree that sometimes the counter service can be a bit brusque. Most recently I tried the sweet and sour pork. It was crispy, hot and flavorful. All in all a good little neighborhood place.

Friendly staff… pricing isn’t too bad and the portions are huge… 3 stars because food could use a little bit more flavor… I’d pay more anywhere for quality not quantity… Pot stickers are 5 stars!!!

The reason I am giving this place three stars is because the guy who takes the orders always seems annoyed that I am placing an order, they don’t have pictures of their menu items, and the food is OK. I am giving them three stars as well though because you get a lot of food for the price. It’s just not good food, but definitely a three star restaurant, not a one or two star restaurant.

The food is okay for Chinese takeout. But the service is terrible. One time I was told that I had to pay for a packet of hot mustard. Another time I ordered the twice cooked pork and it was way over cooked. When I complained about it, I was told that it is supposed to be like that and that I shouldn’t order that again. No apology for the over cooked food. I have had that before and it was never like that. I hope they improve on there service!

I’m surprised at the Mediocre reviews that this place is received. While it’s not the Ritz of Chinese food, it certainly does it’s job. Better than half decent Chinese takeout is hard-to-find, and Golden pearl fits the bill. Definitely try the twice cooked pork, sweet-and-sour chicken, and the panfried house noodles. Soup eggrolls are not their forte, but these plates are. Half decent food, great price. What more do you want from Chinese takeout?

Great food! Seriously, one dinner can feed three guys. Agree with scott, my sweet and sour chicken was fried chicken with sauce on side but was still delicious. Not much dinning space… but they were extremely fast in getting our order. Nice girl running the cashier. Not open on Sundays.

I’ve been here only a couple of times. It’s nothing special. I’ve been to my share of bad chinese places and a decent one always stands out. This place is just that… decent. For me, the deal breaker is always the lo mien and it is ok here. I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way for it. It seems clean and the staff is friendly enough. The few times I’ve been there, the place was empty and whenever I drive by there isn’t too much visible activity. It’s not a bad place to go when you want to change it up a bit.

I go to this place fairly regularly since it’s like 3 minutes away from me. The kung pao chicken is really good… pretty spicy with tasty veggies(and plenty of water chestnuts… I love me some water chestnuts). Some of their dishes are kind of weird(eg the lemon chicken… It was just fried chicken with a side of overly-sweet lemon glaze), but their hot and sour soup is fantastic, their potstickers are delicious, and they give you a damn load of food for not much money. I always end up eating the remaining food for days… Seriously, days. This is pretty much a take-out only place. I’ve never eaten my food there, nor have I ever seen anybody eating in their paltry dining/waiting room. If you want tasty chinese food to go on the cheap(and you’re in rose park), this is the place for you.

I go to this place quite a bit because it’s one of the few things by my office that isn’t some chain fast food restaurant. The food can be hit or miss(Hunan beef: awesome. Egg rolls: very good. Singapore rice noodles: pretty good. Pot stickers: okay. Wonton soup: not good.) The food is very inexpensive, and the portions are huge. Be prepared to get two meals out of a lunch portion or three meals out of a dinner portion. I’ve never eaten inside, but they’re always prompt when I get an order to pick up. So check it out if you work by the airport and are really, really sick of Subway.
