Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Break/lunch only but the best old fashioned American food ever!

4.0 Stars Location Overview: Roxie’s Diner is on S Bryant and S Jackson next to Club Amnesia. This is a very small location. Roxie’s has that old school diner feel. The capacity unfortunately is not fit for large families. Wait time is another down fall on this place. There is no actual waiting are, because this establishment is very small you are standing at the front door waiting to be seated. The décor in the restaurant is very nice, there are old posters and comics posted everywhere. There is a small breakfast bar to sit at if you are a couple or loner coming to eat. Customer Service: The staff are absolutely amazing. Hands down the best homey feeling you can imagine. The ladies serving us are very pleasant, do not rush you to order and make great suggestions if you do not know what to get or have never tried their food before. I do have to make a side not that one cook has been spotted numerous times for eating while cooking, to me personally it is a little unprofessional. However, the staff are great. Quantity/Quality: The quantity of the food is about your average portion that you would get from any brunch restaurant. Compared to IHOP, the quality of Roxie’s pancake/waffles are very fluffy, not premade and very sweet. The biscuits and sausage gravy is also good — fluffy soft huge biscuits and warm breakfast sausage gravy that is thick(non-runny). I will put the quality of the food at a 5.0 Stars. Side Notes: NOT recommended for large parties(no more than 4 people). Very homey feeling kind of place. The egg omelets are huge! Expect to leave full and ready for a luncheon nap.

A sub-par diner in West Texas. We stopped here on a road trip and the first thing we noticed was how busy it was inside, so it must be a great place, no? Getting a table was chaotic. First the hostess said it would be 10 minutes, then it was pointed out that a table was open, so we were seated. The menu was fairly basic and I was disappointed to see no fruit or veggie items. No fresh fruit or anything for breakfast? I settled for hash browns and they weren’t too good. Half burnt and entirely flavorless. My friend didn’t finish his meal either. The inside décor was cheesy flare from the 1950s. Retro, yes, but that was about the only«charm» we could find. Service was okay and I suppose it could have been worse given how crowded the place was. 2-stars for the effort, but no more given the lackluster food and underwhelming experience overall.

Really disappointing. Corned beef hash was canned, hash-browns were frozen and over cooked, they only had grape jelly. The toast and eggs were okay but not remarkable in any way. The pancakes were thick, but they had not fruit for them, even though it was offered on the menu. Will not be back.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s a great indicator of how the rest of your day is going to go. When you start your day out with Breakfast at Roxie’s, you’re setting yourself up for success. Today is my day off, and needed something to fuel me before I head out sheep hunting around San Angelo. I ordered the two egg plate, which came with hashbrowns and toast. The scrambled eggs were fantastic and the toast crispy but not burned. A lot of places will burn hashbrowns to where it’s like eating potato chips, but Roxie’s kept my potatoes nice and soft. But my favorite part of this dining experience… Was the service. The staff was super friendly, cognizant of my coffee levels and incredibly courteous. As a new resident of San Angelo, I am glad I found Roxie’s. Easy to get to from Goodfellow, they offer military discount, and not too far from downtown. Next time, I’m bringing friends.

Roxie’s Diner is EXACTLY what I was looking for when seeking a delicious breakfast in a quaint diner. First off the service was fast and friendly. The coffee might be the worlds best! I loved it! It has that diner feel, a very mom and pop type of place. Loved it! The food was reasonably priced and very good.

Ate here once and it will be the last time. It’s just plain food. I enjoy the diner atmosphere, but, the food was not notable in any way. Nice employees. Cheap prices. Plain food.

Had breakfast here after staying at the Quality Inn and other than the lousy frozen hashbrowns it was good basic breakfast. My wife’s bacon was over done and very hard even though we ask for it not be cooked that way.

I ate breakfast here with some coworkers this morning and it was very good! One of those hidden gem diners with reasonable priced meals. Two eggs sausage, has browns english muffin 7.50. The coffee served in porcilen mugs. The pies here are homemade. I might have to come back just for pie and coffee!

They really know how to cook here. My eggs were perfectly cooked, sausage was delicious, and best of all the hash browns were not raw like they are at most places. Good service to boot. I will definitely be back.

Great food and friendly staff. Love the corned beef hash with breakfast. Usually can’t get that anywhere else around here.

Nice clean place, plenty of parking, waitress was courteous, efficient-place is steady-stream-of-people busy. Had Apple juice, 2 eggs(over medium) with toast and 3 sausage patties-FREE(Days Inn coupon) DEFINITELY will return every day of my stay. Thank you, Roxie’s!

This place was a much better find than I would have believed from previous reviews. I had the Grilled Chicken sandwich which was good, but just a bit over mayo’d. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the accompanying onion rings were really tasty. The restaurant is best in the pie department, we split a coconut Crème pie that made me think of diner in the 60’s &70’s. Well done. I tasted the burger also which was very good. The interior is vividly painted, and completely unlike the exterior. Lot’s of 50’s décor almost over the top, but stopped just short. Service was friendly, and maybe even family powered. Singing waitress was fun to hear.

Hmmm… torn between 2 – 3 stars The breakfast selection in San Angelo is unfortunately limited, I may adjust the rating to stars depending on further experiences in the area. Roxie’s is a standard 50’s styled diner, and I like the vibrant color and design. However, the food is lacking in quality(and yes I know it’s supposed to be a diner styled breakfast place). I usually judge breakfasts on IF I could make it better at home, and in this case, I could. I went with 5 friends, and we had a very diverse selection from the menu(French toast, Migas, Huevos Rancheros, a waffle and an omlette). Nothing really jumped out as amazing from what we ordered, but it was good enough The things I really disliked was the San Angelo water tasting coffee. Blech. It also took 10+ minutes standing in line to pay our checks(there HAS to be a quicker way of doing things, c’mon Texas!

Not bad. When I first walked in to the concrete floor, metal tables, cliché 50’s crap on the walls, seedy old west-texas people, I was a little put off. I was like, I should never have come here. But it was 9:30 am on a Wednesday. The waitress immediately greeted me, and gave me a menu. Now this place is by no means gourmet, but I ordered the staple sausage and eggs plate, eggs over medium, chose a biscuit for my side item, and ordered a side of biscuit gravy to cover it. With in I sh! t you not, 90 seconds, BAM! Hash-browns and all. I love hash browns. The down side was the whole time there was a tv blaring the 700 club, and their only hot sauce was Tabasco — I am big on hot sauces. However they did have a homemade salsa that did the trick. If you want a greasy spoon type place, then this place is for you. Boo on those who gave it a bad rating. Boo I say.
