Bagels are good and they have a great selection of bagels and schmears. But order slowly and loudly, or there’s a good chance they’ll get your order wrong.

This place was awful. Why do they only put smear on one half of the bagel? Also, the cucumber I added was browned in the middle. I tossed the whole thing. Would not go back. Just gross. LIfe is too short for wasted calories

This is hands down the best bagel place that we have EVER been to(east coast included). We drove from Petaluma this morning just to have breakfast here. The staff is very friendly, coffee is hot and you can’t beat the prices.

I love this place. The bagels are the very best I’ve had in California and the people working behind the counter are super friendly. I feel so lucky to have this in the neighborhood!

Great bagels! Very fresh. I had cream cheese on the side and it didn’t taste like a gourmet cream cheese but one I could buy in Safeway. Great bagels though and friendly people!

Decent bagels, nice people. Would give 3.5 stars. Only bagel shop I’ve ever been that sells a non bakers dozen… Ok whatever. Good to have in the neighborhood, but not worthy of a road trip.

This has become my favorite lunch and breakfast place over the past few years. The staff is very accommodating and efficient in their execution. I haven’t witnessed any poor customer service since that one day a few years ago, so I can chalk that up to an element of customer service loved by us all: you can’t please everyone. Barton’s, you’re the best!

These are awesome bagels — made like bagels should be with a slight crunch on the outside and a pleasant chew to them — and so soft and fresh. I took 2 dozen to work the other day and all my friends raved about them — said they were the best bagels they have ever head on the west coast. My friends from New York loved them. Barton’s Bagels rocks!

Are you kidding me? These doughy pillows are NOTHING like New York bagels, and should not even be called the same. Real bagels should have an exterior with a mild crunch and be the color of new shellac.

Best bagels I have ever had… EVER! I was dubious entering the store, just a rack of bagels and a self of day old options, I didn’t even notice if they had drinks or other food — I just needed a bagel fix and for $ 9 a dozen vs $ 0.90 a bagel it seemed like the best thing to do was buy a bunch… And I couldn’t be sadder that I only got one dozen! The chick who helped us behind the counter didn’t seem to understand my order so I had to point what out what I wanted and even then she mixed up the number of bagels but honestly– they were so good she couldn’t do any wrong in my eyes. These are the chewiest and most flavorful bagels and wow– instead of a hard crust like most bagels have these were still soft– almost as if they were barely baked so the boiled softness was absolute perfection. The salt bagel was incredible — it burst in my mouth(and I’m not normally a salty anything fan)! The cranberry was bright and only the berries had bursts of sweetness but the dough was complimentary — not overly savory. The wheat raisin was very hearty and while not MY personal favorite the kids were crazy about it. The pumpkin had hint of spice– also a kid favorite. The chocolate chip was amazing– instead of using the same basic dough for everything the sweetened hint of dough was perfection with chocolate chips! I ate soooo much more bagel than I meant too but it was worth it.

The bagels here are good, but the sandwiches are lacking. My breakfast sandwich consisted of microwaved eggs, deli ham, and pre sliced cheese and was pretty lackluster. Barton’s should either stick to just bagels or invest in better ingredients for the sandwiches.

I was living in San Anselmo when Barton first opened this shop. I moved away in 2007 and today I came back for a bagel dog. I was so disappointed. This was not a bagel dog. This was a hot dog on a soft roll. What happened to the bagel in the bagel dog?

The best bagels. Period. We make special trips to San Anselmo, just to pick up Barton’s bagels. Our approach: buy a dozen(or two), cut each bagel in half, put back plastic bags, and freeze them for breakfasts during the week.

Happiest place in San anselmo. Bagels are the best I’ve ever had and the employees are awesome. Been going there for 18 years now and I’ve never been dissapointed!

These bagels are the most amazing bagels you will ever eat. Favorite flavors are: jalapeño, asiago and tomato basil. Buy a dozen. You will not regret it.

I love these bagels! By far the best in Marin county! They are perfect! The outside is slightly chewy while the inside is soft. This is just how a bagel should taste. Barton’s has a wide variety of bagel options, including my favorite, the cranberry bagel. They also have mini-bagels and day-old bagel bags at a discount. But their biggest hidden gem… Challah on Fridays. After sampling many local bakeries try at challah, Barton’s is way way WAY above its competitors. The best challah, I think, in all of Northern California. I buy one every week. I really really wish they would make it available daily. I would love to be able to buy it several times a week instead of once a week(hint hint Barton’s). I have been coming here for years and don’t plan on going anywhere else.

Best bagels in Marin! Made fresh daily, many varieties, and a yummy selection of spreads to accompany them. They also do great lattes and coffee.

The best in every way! My son who lives in NY but grew up here is convinced Barton’s Bagels are better than NY bagels. Everything they make is great, super fresh and they have a wonderful chocolate bagel. Barton has managed to keep the same team for a few years now too, and they’re all lovely. It’s always a great experience going in here.

Visiting from San Jose and we don’t have Lox bagels this tasty anywhere in our town! And I go around for a lotta Lox. They are time efficient even if there is a line. Plain and simple bagel place.

Barton’s Bagels has lots of options including chocolate. eats: garlic and onion bagel(.95) –lots of flavor even untoasted. –tasted too doughy before and after being toasted. –not as crispy as my favorite bagels. crumbs: –fast, courteous service –in & out fast –maybe chocolate, blueberry better choices here.
