I really, really wanted to like this place because it’s right down the street from me. But did not have a great experience. They do acrylic and gels, which I don’t want to breathe. I went in at a time when I was the only person there. The door was shut and there is no airflow, which just seems so toxic and unhealthy. I like nail salons that offer you water and magazines, but they do not. The tech barely spoke to me. She did a fine job, but my toes look exactly like they look when I do an at home pedicure. Just missing that extra sparkle from a really great salon pedicure that makes it worth the price. Because of the toxic fumes I would go down the street to harmony in the future. This place charges $ 25 plus $ 2 to pay by credit card. Harmony is $ 30 but uses all organic products and it doesn’t smell.

Used to love this place but after coming in with some girlfriends and getting 2AWFUL gels and a crooked acrylic application… I think I’d better spend my money somewhere else where they actually take their time and don’t rush customers. The owner is great but she has women working for her that just aren’t skilled

every time I get my nails done here, they are flawless — I’m amazed every time. Michelle just did my nails on Friday & they are perfect.

Used to come here a few years ago, but just took my daughter in for a mani-pedi… they cut her nails WAY too short(I’m afraid she’ll get an ingrown nail) and the polish was old, so the inexperienced manicurist laid it on thick– so thick that it bubbled up. There were streaks and obvious mistakes and smudges. She forgot to put on top coat. The place looks not very sanitary– it looked as if they didn’t clean the instruments between customers, which is not only scary, but against health code. There are better, cleaner and more proficient nail salons on the avenue… don’t waste your money — - they charge an extra $ 2 for each service to use a debit card, also.

I love Glamorous Nails. Victoria and Wa are both friendly and attentive and do a great job on both mani’s and pedi’s. Glamorous Nails has been recently upgraded and the the new chairs and décor are wonderful.

I used to recommend this place to everyone I knew, even though the service isn’t great as the ladies are more eager to talk amongst themselves than to pay attention to their customers. I started to get the gell nails, that they recommended, I loved it at the beginning but was concerned about my nails getting messed up. They told me that it wouldn’t happen. Of course it did! So I decided to let them grow and when I went to get my pedicure I asked them to take the gell off and they charged me $ 10! Unbelievable! The lady had told me that when I was ready she would take it off. I won’t be recommending this place any time soon.

True, it may not be the cleanest salon around, but the service here is friendly and with quality. If you want a spotless salon, go to the Bay Club and pay $ 50 for a pedi. I got a mani pedi gift certificate for my birthday, and walked in on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment. They were gracious and seated me in less than 15. The ladies were kind and laughed a lot, and really took their time massaging my feet and hands. Glad to see employees offer their services with integrity even though they’ve been pre-paid. Definitely coming back.

Went for the first time for an easy lower leg wax last week. I was trying to relax but the wax was pretty hot, I mentioned it to the person waxing me. She said that it feels hot when the weather is hot outside. Then, she would pull the strips and the skin would hurt because she probably applied too much wax. After all, I was happy to have my legs hairless, however, when I looked at some areas, it looked as my skin was peeling, the skin seemed to be burned. I mentioned it and she said that she didn’t burn me… OK, I paid my $ 30 for only lower legs, a little expensive. An hour later, my legs had red areas and the skin was definitely peeling, they were burned. I went away for the weekend and my legs looked pretty bad. Today I went back to the«Glamorous» nails to talk to the person that wax me and showed her my legs, and asked her to please return my money. She said, «I’m sorry, your skin might be too sensitive»…Let’s just say that I’m pretty brown(latina) and wax every month, so my skin is NOT sensitive. I repeated in a very nice way that I wanted my money back and she said: «I didn’t do anything wrong, you can go to the doctor to help you heal» Yes, that’s what she said, can you believe it? I asked for the owner, and here’s the worst part, SHEISTHEOWNER! so she went to answer the phone and left me there standing at the front of her business, I walked in took their business card to make sure I can let you know how bad my experience was. The BAD waxing experience can happen to anybody, but the way she handled my complaint was the WORST!!!

I will NOT go to this salon again as the new owner is unethical — she sold her salon nearby and took(stole) all her customers which should have been part of the sale. The new owner is struggling and SHE does a very good job! Go to Redhill Nails & see Quinn instead 457‑6333.

My question is: why hasn’t a health department checked this place out? It is not only filthy, but the food smell is nauseating. I tried three times for a manicure, I could not wait to get out. The manicure was so so. The dust around the chairs including old nail clippings were quite obvious. I even noticed the hand phone, almost black with filth. I will not be going to this establishment in the future.

I came in for a mani. $ 13, reasonable price. My cuticle area is quite sensitive, and I’m glad that here they didn’t make it bleed, because at other salons sometimes they take off too much skin and the experience goes from relaxing to painful. On a different note, the interior isn’t too great. Old-looking yellow walls, not much decoration, visible, giant AC tubes… but at least it’s clean. Anyway, my friend and I made reservations but came early, so they just took one of us(but I had to wait a bit). The mani itself was painfree and the lady did a pretty good job. Since the color was sheer she did 3 coats instead of 2, which I appreciated. With the little english that she knew, we were able to make some sort of small talk. All in all, I was satisfied but not impressed, hence the 3 stars.

A bit on the pricey side, at $ 35, but I’m used to the $ 25 mani/pedi in my old SF neighborhood. They just painted so it’s a bit more cheery and they have big windows to people-watch. Mani/pedis last a good 2 – 3 weeks. Great foot and hand massage!

Small affordable nail salon right on the main«boutique row» in San Anselmo. I was happy with my mani-pedi last time I went in. The service is a little bit lackluster though. I felt the staff were intent on continuing their conversations no matter what was going on.
