I’m not one to review chains(especially coffee shops), but I felt inclined to review this particular Peet’s location because they’re so pet-friendly. I had a coffee mtg. here the other day, and the good folks at Peet’s put out a large water bowl for my pooch. Now that I’m a dog owner, I’m surprised to discover the number of businesses who refuse to cater to their clientele’s furry companions. After all, dog owners make up like 75% of the Marin population! So props to to you, Peet’s, for going above and beyond to make me and my pooch feel welcome. All that aside, this San Anselmo Peet’s should be commended for consistently serving strong coffee with a smile. I will continue to come here for my caffeine fix. Keep up the good work, guys. And thanks for treating my little Cosmo like a prince. You get two paws up from us!

Worst latte I have ever had. McDonald’s would make a better one!!! Very slow service. Will never go back to this location

The baristas were friendly, and I enjoyed my salted caramel macchiato. I think this is a great place to relax a while and have a chat. However, don’t stay too long, because when this place is crowded, other customers might get mad at you for hogging the space.(based on an event where a man lectured two girls about turning the coffee shop into a study hall which happened this morning)

This is the best Peet’s location I have ever been in — and yes, I have been to about 10 of them. The staff is pretty on top of things — of course it gets crowded every once in a while, but an ounce of patience is usually sufficient. Great coffee — best French Roast I have ever had.

I don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews. I think a lot of it is coming from people who have never worked a customer service job and don’t understand what its like. Anyway, I go to this Peets more time a week than I am willing to admit. The staff are always VERY friendly and very competent. Both the espresso drinks and the brewed coffee are excellent!

Shitty place. Horrible people, horrible wait, horrible wifi. The coffee isn’t bad, but just avoid this place all together.

The fly situation is better. If their wifi was consistent I’d bump up the rating even more. I was able to use their wifi last time for about 30 minutes with no problems, which is the longest so far. I always bring my own internet connection to this place and always have to use it if I don’t want to spend 10 minutes waiting for a page to come up. Three stars for the workers there being really nice.

Servers here are very friendly, and actually really with it. I regularly walk out of Peets thinking the people are either«stoned» or drank way too much coffee. The lines rarely are efficient. This location is very functional, I almost wonder if it is really a Peets. But like all Peets, they have great product.

Not the friendliest. And what’s with asking me if I want 2% milk, and then when I say give me the fattest thing you have, you say whole milk? There was no response when I suggested whipped cream twice, either from the woman at the counter or the guy who made my drink. I ordered a maple latte and it was cloyingly sweet, so instead of having it for the drive home, I had to wait and doctor it(with half and half, thank you very much), turning it into a maple-y café au lait. I would have given it two stars, but since this was my first(though likely last) visit, I realize this could have been a busy Saturday morning fluke. Also, my daughter enjoyed her berry peach scone, as well as observing a bird in its nest just outside.

It really isn’t that hard to make a good iced vanilla latte, but this Peet’s location always manages to mess it up. They often don’t put vanilla in, put wayy to much in, don’t use the correct kind of milk etc. etc. Today I was sitting by the barista and watched her use the wrong kind of milk. She also used old steamed milk/foam in the latte, too lazy to just take 10 seconds and do it properly. The spoonful of foam in an iced latte is supposed to be freshly made — not sitting out on the counter all afternoon FYI Peet’s. She was talking to her manager or coworker the whole time, and was apparently too busy to do her job correctly. Starbucks was closed, and I didn’t want to drive all the way out to Whole foods to get an iced latte. But this will be the last time I ever go to this Peet’s Coffee — just an absolute waste of money and horrible service.

Preordered coffee to go for a big event. Came by to get it and they hadn’t even started. Took them forever 30 min plus to to get it. When I asked for a discount or something to compensate it not being ready I was offered a free drink? Seriously? I just spent $ 70!

Best lattes & best service! The staff is always extremely attentive and friendly, greeting everyone with a smile. And when it’s early, and I haven’t had my morning coffee yet and am beyond grumpy – I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that! Perfect spot to meet up with friends or to get a bit of work done on Wifi. And doggies are always welcome in the front seating area.

Good coffee, friendly and pleasant staff. A little expensive on the crafted coffees(mochas, hot choc etc.) Peet’s has a nice atmosphere and it’s a lovely place to chill with a coffee while I work on my laptop. The free wifi is great! On one occasion a musician ordered a coffee, grabbed a seat, took out his guitar and played a few tunes and it was lovely! Thoroughly enjoyable.

Having spent time in Southern Italy, I can say that Peet stands alone in creating pipping hot espresso, that is not burnt, but strongt here in California and other places I have visited in the USA. I know several Italians who travel to the US who feel the same way… and the San Anselmo Peet’s stands head and shoulders above the rest in friendliness and ambiance. Thank you Daniel, Keith, Chris, Jeb and the whole gang.

There’s one guy who works there who’s Über-good at his job. He’s the guy with curly, dark-blond hair. He’s really in the flow; it’s sort of like an extremely pleasant dance he’s got going with everyone he waits on. I love being helped by him.

TTR! Easy to spot in the Red Hill Shopping Center( ), it’s a perfect rest stop on the way from the Golden Gate Bridge to West Marin. Pretty much the midpoint between the GGB and the Point Reyes-Tomales Bay area. The roads getting here are also more straight, the«scenery» ever-changing, unlike the windy and static view from taking Hwy 1. Brightly lit( ) with typical embroidered tapestry( ). Liked the place enough to stop by again on the way back from Tomales Bay Oyster Farm, to rest and sit outside( ) enjoying the warm sunshine before facing the City fog. Be aware that there are two ordering registers to speed things along. However, with a products display and a support beam blocking the registers, it was difficult to know where any line begins or ends.

The line is usually not long, everyone is friendly, and I had the best organic ginger cookie of my life. It was huge and according to Peet’s online nutrition facts, not as guilty of a treat as I’d imagined… On certain days, you just need something a little stronger than your usual Starbucks…

A-ha, I found one of the only two plugs for a laptop in Marin! Lost one star for the grating violin music
