Aqua-Tots

Positive — brand new location. I really liked how it’s set up. Plenty of changing rooms, nice play area for little swimmers while they wait for the classes to start, very clean, nice wait area for parents to observe the little swimmers. So here is an extra star for all these things. Positive experience ends here.
Negatives — we were doing the trial Baby and Me class. It was a Saturday class at 9:30 AM. There were 3 other parents with their kids in the same class. They block off this tiny area of the pool for the baby and me classes, so it felt like a bunch of sardines packed in a can. I tripped over another parent once and felt like I had to keep my elbows in while clutching onto my daughter so that I didn’t bump into other parents. I asked the teacher if they ever open up a bigger space (I mean it was as easy as unhooking one of the lines) and she said no, this is what they allocate for baby and me. I did mention this during the check out, and was told they can open the area bigger — I guess they need to educate their instructors to do this in the future!
The teacher herself was very hard to hear. She had about as much enthusiasm about the class, as somebody who is asleep. It sounded like she was whispering the songs. The instructions weren’t clear and I was having a hard time keeping my daughter interested in it.
Needless to say, we won’t be returning. We had a wonderful swim experience in a Swim School in Phoenix, and unfortunately haven’t found one in San Antonio that comes even close. Still looking!

I was hesitant to commit to Aqua Tots because of the cost, but we took the risk and began at the Rim location as soon as it opened. I have been very pleased. The facility is phenomenal. The waiting area is GREAT for siblings and parents. There are reasonably priced snacks, comfortable chairs, a kids play area and a movie is always on.
The pool is perfect for swim lessons. We have had two different swim instructors (because we came for a make-​up day before a vacation) and both have been great. Twice my youngest has panicked and had to be carried in to the pool area crying & twice the staff expertly calmed her down and had her happily participating within minutes.
In just a few short weeks of once a week lessons I have seen both kids make great progress. I’m happy to recommend Aqua-​Tots to friends and family.

Great place to teach the kids to swim, instructors patient, nice viewing area, staff is very tidy and keep locker bathrooms and dressing area clean. They have a small playing area for kids and TV while you wait for class or siblings wait.
