Do not get serviced by this girl with red period blood hair cause she gets mad over 8 dollar tabs if you don’t tip her on her mess ups lol, I actually did tip her on the order I made on 3 purple gechkos by she forgot my beers and had to run my card again and i didn’t tip her because of it, 2 beers came out to 8 dollars and she got mad saying I «STIFFED HER» and she proceeded to tell managers to kick me out but I was actually there for a good 15 more minutes, than we called her out on her mistakes and made fit about how I didn’t tip her on her Mess up charging my tab twice. I’d advise everyone who gets services by this crazy lady to bring change cause she needs the money, and I literally mean CHANGE$ like pennies and dimes cause that’s what’s she worth

Tonight’s service sucked ass! Bartender (some new asian girl) over charged for our drinks and it was not what I wanted at all. Plus there was no specials I’ve been coming for the past few years and tonight was awful! Where are my regular bartenders that know what they’re doing!!! Talk about a disappointment.

2.50 Jack and coke :) had a good time, the White Russians were eh but the vaper shots were cool, staff was nice, bathrooms were incredibly clean.

I don’t use Unilocal at all like my girlfriend but felt compelled to create an account after my experience here last month:
I arrived at 10:45 and didn’t get a drink for over a half hour of actively trying to flag down a bartender (they kept serving the same people). Both female bartenders saw me as I made eye contacted multiple times with them and finally got service which was two beers (not a hard order) The taller gentleman was nice but unfortunately was just helping with the dishes and not the drinks (which making drinks isn’t his job) No smiling from the female bartenders so I think you both should find another industry if you hate your job.
The mistake I made was opening a tab for the first round. I tried to get another round of beers but that would never come. After about 12:45, I was tired of waiting so I went to close my tab which took another 15 minutes. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH BAD SERVICE ANYWHERE IN MY LIFE! One round in two hours, wow!
No matter how bad service I have received in my life I have always tipped. That streak had ended, and I will never go back in my life! Forced to give one star here…

Awesome neighborhood/​dive bar… Dive bars are the best… Friendly staff… Which is always a plus!!! One of my favorite bars in the Medical Center area… No matter what day it is, or if it’s packed or not, I always have a great time here… They always make awesome drinks… N even randomly give free shots… So glad this bar is in my neck of the woods!

This is a great dive bar. The only problem is this annoying guy goes there named Abe. He is always telling stupid stories or begging for quarters so he can play raining men on the juke box. One time I walked in the the bathroom and he was giving two dudes handjobs. One more suggestion, if the bartenders went topless they would get better tips. Just saying.

Baker is the diviest of divy dive bars and that’s why they get this rating. They excel at their craft! Sometimes my friends and I make a mistake of trying to go to a popular ice house a mile down the road only to find we should have teleported because parking is so awful. It never fails that the first place suggested is Baker. And for good reason! Good drinks, heavy pours, and fun music.
The ambiance is what you would imagine, the crowd trends a little on the young side so things always get loud and crazy by the end of the night. This usually isn’t an issue with us, only because we love people watching. This bar has definitely seen better days, but that just adds to the charm. I’ve never had an issue with service here, the bartenders are very aware of their clients and try their best to be quick and pleasant.
I really enjoy Baker for all the negatives I and others have listed. I like my bars with character and substance. I don’t need a $ 15 martini to be happy, all I want is a good strong whiskey at dive bar prices.

Clark Bars are all dives, which sometimes is good. However, the management staff and employees are incompetent. They clean glasses like they probably wipe themselves. It is a reflection of the dirtiness that each bar embraces. Not to mention the regulars that go to these places and are usually over served and start trouble. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of trash bars and look for real dives… good luck…

Baker Street Pub is a Medical Center trade mark. There’s always something happening here. There’s always a single dude who will come sit next to you if you’re a single girl, he’ll probably strike out too, and that’s OK. Everything goes here.
There’s been times when the smell has been too unbearable to stay longer than a drink and sometimes you’ll be too inebriated to notice.
The added patio with picnic benches is an added plus. Thanks, smoking ban 2011!
I’m not sure if it’s me, or if it’s Jon Taffer’s fault, but every place I saw as a dive bar now, can be seen as a potential Bar Rescue including this place with all it’s dust on the glasses and objects hanging from the bar area. Yummy!

When I’m in S/​A (and I’m there alot) I always stop in at least once. Why? 1). You can smoke inside; 2). The staff is cool; 3). Even if you are an «out of towner», you feel welcome and 4). the beers are cheap.
Only drawback for me is as another reviewer wrote, «you feel like you need a tetanus shot after using the restroom». That said, most guys will piss anywhere. When you gotta go, you gotta go!

My favorite hole in the wall. I come here often. Maybe too often. I’ve memorized the drink specials for every day of the week and I’m there almost every Wednesday for $ 2.50 Maker’s Night. The bartenders are all cool. They make some pretty stiff drinks. Wednesday night is also Karaōke Night. Mixing Karaōke and $ 2.50 makers is the best/​worst idea. If I had a dollar for every fat girl who thinks she’s Adele.
They don’t have a patio so you’ll have to finish or hide your drink before you smoke. The leaking hole in the ceiling only adds to the atmosphere.
Baker doesn’t serve food the bathrooms are faithfully dirty and are rarely stocked with toilet paper so bring cocktail napkins :).

I notice this place gets mixed reviews but I don’t understand how. I have been here a few times over the years and it never gets any better. It’s impossible to get served and when you do the drinks are watery. The low ceiling makes it unbearably smokey (and I smoke). Then there is the men’s room. I feel like I need a tetanus shot (and every other vaccination I can think of) after walking into that filth. It reminds me of a scene in ‘Trainspotting’ where Ewan McGreggor goes into that pub in search of a toilet and they flash, «The worst toilet in Scotland» across the screen. This has to be the worst I have ever seen.
Overall, I suggest you avoid this place. Go to one of the countless other bars in this neighborhood.

I went in on 1÷19÷11 and couldn’t stay more than thirty seconds. When you walk in you instantly get hit with a cloud of smoke and the worst smell in your life. If you’re a smoker then you will love this place. The bar atmosphere looked like it was for 30’s and young 40’s. This place is for sure a Dive Bar, but I think other bars in the area are a better place to spend your night. Too much smoke, and everything looked gross, not dive bar cool.

I agree for the most part with the other reviews, this is probably one of the better dive bars in San Antonio… it’s not too classy but not too trashy. No need to get dressed up to go here, in fact you are encouraged to wear the clothes you just painted your house in… nobody gives a shit how pretty you think you look.
Bartenders are pretty good and have been there for more than a day… so they know who tips and who skips for the most part & they know how to sling drinks. The men’s bathroom looks like it could be in one of the SAW movies, but it’s a bar… a dive bar for that matter.

Bakers has an owner that hires really well for wait staff. All the girls are quite hot. Good internet jukebox that offers all the songs from the album plus 18 songs for $ 5. Wednesday night gets crazy with the karaōke scene almost resembling a Fellini movie with the debauchery I’ve seen there. Crazy stuff.

Pretty nice dive bar. Juke box, dusty walls and posters, friendly people, and reasonable prices. Situated in the bad side of wurzbach where people with neck tattoos walk their offspring. Plenty of taco salesmen, though.

One of the more decent hole-​in-​the-​wall bars around San Antonio. Okay drink specials and a good bar staff.
Not in the safest part of the USAA area, but at fault of the adjacent bars and not because of this bar’s clientele.
Darts, 2 cramped pool tables, internet jukebox, a few tv’s, a stage, and a chill zone. Not the cleanest bathrooms [just being honest].
You feel like you’re at a friends bar when you’re there and a great place to unwind with a few buddies. Not classy at all, kinda grimy [in a good way]. It’s really a place for people who can make their own good time, and not for those who expect an epic night at each visit. Recommended for mid-20-year-old’s still in or just out of college.
