Great place to eat after a long ride. The wife and I always eat here after we ride the mission ride. Food is always great and staff is very friendly. Nice place to sit outside and enjoy the weather.

After a long delightful walk on the River Walk, I found myself and my dog wandering into the Blue Star Megaplex(that’s not the actual name but close enough.) What a cute area! It’s fantastic! We ordered the pickled veggies as a appetizer, which was small but delicious. I love a vinegar taste. Based on the appetizer size, I assumed my salad(the quinoa chicken) would be petite, but actually it was giant in size. It was dry considering the size and two extra sides of dressing later, I had the perfect balance. We were sitting outside and it was particularly sunny, but they were happy to grab us an umbrella for shade. The service was delightful and the food delicious. Win win. Check it out. Hipster gentrification tastic, but I loved it.

We’ve been sitting here over an hour waiting for our food. We asked how much longer only to be told the waitress forgot to put our order in. On top of that she has not been by our table in over 30 minutes to check on us. Never coming here again.

Mediocre food at best. Tried the blue plate special which today was a salmon burger with fries. By far the most bland salmon patty I’ve ever tasted and the fries were extremely cold. Maybe this place should just stick to selling craft beer and appetizers, instead of overpriced food items.

Food was decent. Waitress was absolutely horrible. Came to our table once. Spent more time at the bar with the manager. Won’t be going back.

Good food but really terrible service. I’ve gone several time just to see if they got any better but it doesn’t get better.

Went there Saturday around 1 for the first time. Parking lot was packed, but wasn’t too crowded inside bc a lot of people were sitting outside. We sat at the bar. Bartender Chrissy(name on receipt at least) was very unfriendly and not helpful. She never smiled or asked us if we wanted anything. Never asked if we wanted water, food menu, another beer nada. Took forever to get my first water, and then when I asked for refill, she said okay but never refilled it. I asked for beer description menu and she handed me one with old sticky beer on it instead of cleaning it first. We ordered texican lager which was nice and light. flying pig was decent. didn’t eat their food. Bartender had no sense of urgency or good costumer service. One girl there was nice and smiley when she dropped off cups. maybe she needs to tend the bar instead

Great beer. I had the Texiana(sp?)– which was refreshing. The fish tacos were dry, I wouldn’t order them again. The brisket jalapeños were tasty, and I’ll be ordering them next time I’m there. Service was okay, but we got there right before the kitchen was closing so they were probably cleaning up. I’ll be back.

This little gem is big enough to be comfortable without being overwhelming. The tea is delicious though it comes in a smaller traditional teacup. The beers are slightly«hipster» but still delicious. The band was good, and friendly and there were a few short breaks that the band used as a beer break that made good stops for conversation. An overall great experience. We showed up a bit late so we didn’t get a table but the waitress was very attentive and got us chairs to set along the back that ended up being very cozy. We hope to come back. Great for a casual date if you have been in a relationship for a while and both appreciate jazz.

I love samples, tastings, appetizers, and flights. You could say I love small bites. Order the beer flight at Blue Star Brewing, and you’re in for a lot more than you probably thought. They have 11 beers in the flight and all 3 ounces. They have a good variety of beers, so you’re sure to find something for everyone in your party. As long as it took me to finish my flight, I had to order an appetizer. Jalapeño Brisket Poppers. Oh. My. Goodness. Be warned, they are fried and they have a thick batter coating. Second warning, the jalapenos are pretty spicy, but a good spicy if you’re into that sort of thing. The brisket wasn’t an after thought in these poppers, it’s definitely the star. Tender, smoky, chopped brisket is the perfect salty compliment to the rich cream cheese, and spicy acidic jalapeño.

My wife and I have been coming to this place for years. When we first started dating we used to come here. The oatmeal stout is fantastic, but I wish they would bring back their golden ale. Great place to relax especially after 1st friday. Ask for Johnny. Tell him Mike H sent ya!

Back in town, and I have to say that I’m still very fond of Blue Star Brewing Co. Tonight I really enjoyed their version of Octoberfest… the Männerchor Märzēn, absolutely delicious. Tonight I also had their beer cheese and pretzels… oh hell yeah!!! Talk about yum! Also tonight there is live music… love the sounds that a saxophone makes! Unfortunately I didn’t realize in time to get a seat in the room with the music… from what I heard when the door opened made me jealous of those who got seats. Then to appeal to my masculine side, the bartender is a very cute girl who is wearing a tight short skirt that had my mind wondering about the delights she had beneath it… WEG!

This place is not good. Cute, charming, generally ok, but the food is average at best and the beer is bad. I had the Southtown Sour which was served at room temperature and tasted like Tecate. My boyfriend had the Flying Pig which was just ok. I switched to a Texican after seeing a guy order a few with salt-rimmed glasses and lime. I figure no matter what those flavors can help boost a plain beer. Unfortunately when I got MY Texican it was in a plain glass with no frills and tasted like watered down Lone Star, the difference being it cost me $ 6. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich was«meh» but I was starving so I ate it. Boyfriend had the brisket sandwich was awful — soggy, flavorless, dry meat. The pickles are sweet and DONOT compliment buffalo chicken or brisket. We sat at the bar and the staff was so insanely busy they couldn’t even clear old glasses away. I got to rub shoulders with dirty glasses from the folks before me for the entire duration of our stay.

The Blue Star Brewery in San Antonio was exactly as I’d hope to experience in a brewery. They had eight beers on tap and I tried them all: Texican Lager, marzen, Flying Pig Extra Pale Ale, Pale Ale, Spire Stout, King William Ale MMXIV, Barnstormer Series Raspberry Geyser, and Barnstormer Close Encounter. The brewery was in a cool art area with biking and outdoor activities. They served a big brunch but I opted for a delicious bison burger and fries. The brewery also features a massive big screen television so it’s the perfect place to watch the big game. Why go to a bar when you can go to a brewery to try beer that you can only get there? Meet up as SFLHops to the next beer event at

Bartender was fantastic, she let me do a flight of all their beers(12ish) and she graced me with a sample of a random concoction requested by another patron(was delicious by the way). On top of that the servers checked up on my frequently even though I was at the bar and not generally dealing with a server.
