I absolutely love the shirts that Dos Carolinas makes, and have always envied my friends with them. After moving to the 09 after graduating from college I decided to make the decision to invest in one of these beautiful shirts. On Tuesday January 192016 I had ordered a custom Guayabera in hopes that it would be ready for Fiesta. The process was simple and the young man helping me was very detailed oriented and provided great recommendations. After designing I was told that my shirt would be ready in 6 – 8 weeks. Overall the design of my shirt took less than an hour. Up until this point I was very pleased and had no complaints. I was very excited for my shirt, but even more excited to wear it at Fiesta! On Friday March 182016 I called to check on the status of my shirt. The lady who answered told my that she would return my call the next Tuesday to inform me of the delay. This was past 8 weeks and I was still not concerned as Fiesta was still a Month away. I never received a call the next Tuesday, and I had assumed that everything was under control. Finally today I called again to inquire about my shirt. The lady who answered was extremely rude and had quickly realized that she had forgot to tell me what was holding my shirt up. The rudeness continued after I asked what the hold up was. She quickly answered«We’re out of that fabric», and didn’t make any effort to provide a solution. At this point I realized that for the past 13 weeks Dos Carolinas failed to call or realize that the fabric I had ordered for my shirt was out of stock. I respectfully cancelled my order and was quickly hung up on. Now it’s the week of fiesta and I don’t have a Guayabera. I’m most upset at the way I was treated as a customer. As a purveyor of many bespoke suits and shirts I have never encountered such terrible customer service. Most employees should have the basic competence to apologize after realizing their company made a mistake. This«not my fault» attitude should never be encountered in a setting where I am expected to pay $ 200 dollars for a casual shirt.

Found out that they had UT guayaberas for men, so I decided to get one for the hubby. Even though he didn’t want one, I could tell he did by the look in his eyes. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but who wouldn’t pay to be comfortable and cool and at the same time showing your school colors. It’s a one of a kind. Guayaberas are very common in southern Mexico and I could have gotten him one from there but this one is special, is has the UT logo. I’m sure that with time, after he wears it, he will thank me for getting it. It was money well spent.

I was working with this company to get Guayaberas for my wedding in September. Natasha was so helpful thoughout the process, even when for budget reasons we had to go another route. I am sad because I know these shirts would have been beautiful. Either way Natasha had great customer service and didn’t make me feel awful when I had to change my order. I highly recommend this company!

Guayaberas are a staple for the men in my family. They make great gifts, and I’m pretty sure my dad has acquired enough over the years of gifting to have a closet-full. Most recently, I was on a quest for a Father’s Day gift at the last minute, naturally. They still had enough of a selection for me to have a hard time making a decision between a few styles. From linen to nylon to seersucker, with embellishments or just plain, it’s the place to get a well-made long lasting comfortable shirt for anytime of year. My dad’s favorite part is that they can be dressed up or down, for any occasion. My brothers even all wore them in a wedding as groomsmen! I have to say, the lady who helped me was so sweet and patient, and let me take all the time I needed to come to a decision. They can keep measurements on file, so anytime you need something custom, they can make it happen. For Spring and Summer in San Antonio, guayaberas are a must-have!

Fiesta time = Guayaberas! If you want to skip the beer soaked t-shirt look of fiesta and graduate to a more elegant, yet laid back look, get a custom made guayabera. They locally make these shirts out of traditional or unusual(camouflage!) fabrics. For ladies, they can even make a dress inspired by this style of shirt(I was quoted an estimate of $ 200 – 225). If you do not have time for a custom order, they do offer a number of «off-the-rack» shirts. Call ahead to see what they have in your size. Follow them on Facebook to find out about their sales. Yes, the shirts are pricey, but it is great to know that they are being made right here in San Antonio and the quality and workmanship are outstanding.

How do I love the let me count the Guayaberas. Custom made that is! That’s right custom made guayaberas! You pick the fabric and she has lots to choose from. Whether you want irish linen, broadcloth, pinpoint oxford she’s got it. Then you got to pick your color, white, blue, red, striped, camoflage, or anything else and she’s got it. Next is shirt sleeve or long sleeves, pleats, pockets, no pleats, stitching the choices are endless. This place is fantastic and Caroline will take excellent care of you. So for that special person in your life head on down and get them a new Guayabera but hurry up or she won’t have time to make it before Christmas
