Every time I come here there’s a dead roach on the floor. The least they can do is sweep it up and throw it away but they seem not to care about there customers I gave this place another try even after seeing the roach and they failed. Never came back again(dirty place) the only reason they get a lot of business is because it’s in the medical center area and they don’t have a lot of Mexican restaurants around there.

This place is pretty good. The menudo is very good as they put lots of stuff in it. Not just the juice. The breakfast tacos are small but again they are FULL of stuff. They are a really good price too. This place definitely doesn’t gouge you on the prices for food, leaving room for a drink with your meal and you will still stay under $ 10. Not bad at all. I noticed on the page it states they are closed on SUNDAY. THEYAREOPENSUNDAYS… Just FYI.

My go-to place for breakfast tacos and Horchata! Their tortillas are very delicious. The prices are great and service is always quick.

For a Jalisco, they weren’t bad at all. Good flour tortillas and good beef enchiladas verde. Good lunch prices, but watch out for the iced tea at a whopping $ 2.25. This is pretty high considering your entrée only averages about $ 6.99!

I have gone here on more than one occassion. The coffee use to be great. I think they’ve either changed the coffee brand, or how it’s made… also I once ordered their orange juice from their menu, and it was an orange drink, not juice as listed… and, Is it just me or has anyone else noticed weird stems, and brush bristle looking objects in their salsa??? I still go to El Gallito, only for breakfast… but only for certain items, checking them carefully first. My last visit there I found a long thick curly black hair in my food.

Awesome breakfast tacos! On the smaller side, but the taste is there and the cost is cheap!

My gf and I just got lunch there. The fajita meat is incredible for the price, and I really wonder what they do to make it so good. They must marinade it overnight in brine or something. I think they put roofies in the flautas too because we were both knocked the f out for about an hour and a half after we wolfed it all down and just woke up.

Very great find on our part. My mother in law who is going through chemo desperately wanted Mexican food. We stopped here because it was the closest one we found. It was a little«seedy» in a good way, we sat, ordered and LOVED it. The waitress and other staff were very inviting and friendly. My mother in law ordered Migas and said they were very good. It was mildly spicy. She likes spicy and we will probably request spicier next time However the salsa they give you with the chips and salsa were spicy! I myself just ordered a cheese quesadilla and you may think you can’t mess that up but trust me, some places do. This one was great and perfect comfort food. We both took home enough for 2 more meals and took a nap! We will definitely be coming back here.

I have never been here. I was going to try it out but then I saw a list of the most demerited restaurants in SA and this one topped the list!!! I just really don’t want a hair in my food :/A shame bc I could walk to this place and I love a good mexican meal!

Great tasting burrito, the meat is juicy and very flavorful. And they open really late. So great place to grab something to eat after a night of drinking.

Up until yesterday this place was probably one of my favorite mexican restaurants here in San Antonio, I ordered my usual egg, sausage, bean and potato taco. While in class I decided to open my taco to pour my salsa in and to my surprise a BLACKBUG abut half in inch was in my taco! I texted my friend who also ordered tacos the same morning to tell her to beware and when she opened her tacos there were another 2BLACKBUGS fried in her taco!! happy to say I will NEVER eat here again. Told my family and friends and they have definitely lost regular customers… Very disappointed, and am now tainted from eating tacos;(lesson learned always open up your taco!!!

Ok, so if you don’t mind eating in a restaurant that reminds you of a Mexican grandmothers house, you’re good to go! You will see mismatched furniture fixtures and shrines dedicated to Jesus and Valentine’s day bears oh and hey, charming hand written signs… but the food is what you came here for, isn’t it? Well if so, you’ll see that it’s pretty legit and there was not one complaint from all 4 of my coworkers who joined me for lunch. $ 5.99 for your choice of 2 lunch specials, which includes tea. Cheap cheap cheap! The beef quesadilla was the hit of the table, 3 of us ordered that. The rice and beans on the side were tasty, the rice had little pieces of corn. That’s different but it was good! Their mole was«not what i expected» says my other half, since it was basically 2 pieces of white meat chicken smothered in their yummy mole sauce. But he did have fun poking all of the chicken off from the bones and smothering it in their delicious sauce. It wasn’t too sweet at all. Their chalupas were also top-notch and stayed intact throughout my whole feasting on it, unlike other chalupas that fall apart on the first bite. They have this radio-active green guacamole, which I think they may mix with some sort of crema. It was good but had the consistency of baby food, or so I’ve been goo-goo ga-ga’d before. Service was also excellent and extremely attentive. I love how they serve you the big«you shouldn’t need a refill» cup of tea. It needs just the right amount of sugar to taste good. I may be back to try breakfast, or maybe after a trip to Irish Pub since they do close at Midnight. We ordered and within 10 minutes both our drinks and food items were placed on the table, amazing!

I can’t believe this spot only has 6 reviews! Seriously, this truck has just about the best tacos I’ve ever had. 5 mini carne asada tacos with cilantro for $ 6.50?! The meat was cooked to perfection, I didn’t even need any sauces because it was that good! The corn in the cup(elotes) was delicious, but surprisingly more pricey than I’m used to. It’s obvious they use canned corn, but c’mon now – at least drain out the juice! Other than that, I’d suggest ordering to-go because we made the mistake of «dining» there and I got bit by more bugs than I can count.

This truck/trailer is actually located at the corner of huebner and Vance Jackson but it’s not showing correctly on Unilocal.I pass by it almost every day b/c it’s super close to my place but for whatever reason I never checked it out. Today I decided to come here for a quick bite on a whim and was not disappointed at all. After carefully studying the menu and reading the reviews, I decided to order the Mexican hotdog and regular pollo taco, $ 5 for both not bad. Please note they do have a $ 5 minimum requirement for using credit cards. Service was fast. It only took about 5 mins for me to get my food. Since I live close by, I took them home to eat. I have to say both the taco and Mexican hotdog were tasty. But my favorite is deff the Mexican hotdog! I had never had Mexican hotdogs before. I like hotdogs to begin with but those Mexican hotdog was intense. There was so much flavor going on with bacon bits, sour cream, onions, etc. Deff a winner! I pretty much licked my hands and I wasn’t ashamed of this not so lady like behavior. I can only image how good the food would taste at 3AM in the morning after a few drinks. And that’s how late they open on weekdays. On Friday and Saturday nights, they open until 4AM! They are closed on Sundays. Maybe next time after drinking a few fruity beer at flying saucer, I’ll come here to get a Mexican hotdog and a corn in a cup. Hmmm, sounds delicious!

I’ve been here three times now and everything I’ve gotten here has been really good. The steak in the steak fajita quesadilla is tender and seasoned very well. The charro beans are one of the best in town, especially if you don’t like pork in your beans. The chips and salsa are both homemade.

The El Gallito de Jalisco mobile taco truck is usually located at 11930 Heubner Road(between the carwash and the convenience store). ‘What is a ‘Mexican Hotdog?’ you may ask. ‘Heaven,’ I’ll reply. The El Gallito taco truck splits your average hot dog weenie down the middle and stuffs it with pico, bacon slices, cheese, mustard, mayo and ketchup, transforming it into a masterpiece. And when you’ve got that unshakeable hankering for corn-in-a-cup late at night, you’re in luck – the truck is open until 3 a.m.

Alright, I may or may not have a thing for potato and cheese tacos at random times throughout the day. This was one of those times. I Unilocal-ed and called around to find places around my apartment where I could pick up some tacos from. Most of the places had bad reviews or didn’t serve potato and cheese at the time, but… Not this place. I actually read awesome reviews for their food truck, so I called and turns out, they had m’tacooos. This may be little to most people, but I loved being asked what kind of cheese I wanted(yellow or white was what they asked), especially since no other place had ever given me an option on that. Anyway — I ordered a few tacos, and they lady proceeded to warn me of the crazy parking situation they had going on that night, as it was St. Patrick’s Day and they’re located right next to an Irish pub. And yes, it was quite the parking dilemma once we got there to pick up those tacos. They were ready by the time we reached, and the lady gave us diced onions and cilantro to go with the red and green salsas. Both were great, by the way. And so were the tacos — awesome potato and cheese tacos with onions, cilantro, green salsa and red salsa. I would come back. And I want to try the truck tacos, too. Side note: I suppose I have turned into quite the taco connoisseur since my move to San Antonio.
