First time there. Solid place. Had the Parillada, Skirt steak with grillled onions peppers and tomato. Delish. Reasonable pricing. Would have gotten a five star but service was not up to par. Took 20 minutes for server to ask for apps or drinks. After that little blunder everything else went smoothly. We’ll be back again.

Their new location, El Mirasol at Alon(NW Military & Wurzbach Pkwy), is just as fabulous as their popular location on Blanco Rd but with better parking and a shorter wait for a table… Order a Chispa, you’ll be glad you did!

Last night, we attended the soft opening of El Mirasol at its newest location in Alon market. The food was great, bar was well stocked and the variety of salsas were delicious. The best feature was the service. Our waiter was so attentive as were other servers which one of the reasons we go to El Mirasol on a weekly basis. They have the best wait staff in San Antonio and they treat us like family. We loved it.

The food here is awesome! We’ve been twice and both times were great. They have a good varied menu that provides something for everyone. My family loves the queso and chips. Yum!

It’s pretty rare that I give a perfect score. The pork butt tacos here are AMAZING. I’m here on business and telling everybody to come check out this place

This is a super cute restaurant. There is a patio but we haven’t eaten there due to the smokers side. I had the cheese enchiladas with queso on top in stead of the regular sauce. Very delicious. The beef was very tender. Shrimp Mirasol was very good as well. No wait to sit down and our waiter was very attentive. The refills of chips and sodas kept coming Delicious queso and guacamole.

I’m so glad I found this place. I’ve been three times now(first two times were a week apart) and every time the food has been spot on and the margaritas have been smooth and strong. Last night, I took my parents here. My mom is a little more picky with food and they were very accommodating with letting her get pico for her salmon instead of one of the cream sauces listed. My dad got the beef fajitas and the portion was huge, we have a box with leftovers to enjoy another day. My, now favorite, meal is the lobster quesadilla. I was afraid to order it thinking there wouldnt be much lobster. Man was I wrong. There was a ton of lobster and the guacamole that comes with it is delicious also. The size is a bit small but the perfect amount for me to call a meal. This would also be a great appetizer if you wanted a bigger entrée. This isn’t your average cheap tex-mex option so expect to pay a higher amount. The extra money is worth the quality of food they give you.

My absolute favorite Mexican food in SA! Not tex-mex, just perfect authentic dishes. I’ve been too many times to count and have yet to have a bad meal. Everything is always super fresh and delicious. Service is usually very good but can be a little slow depending on how crowded they get. Highly recommend this place! The chips and salsa are the best of any restaurant anywhere. I could drink the salsa.

Nice cozy restaurant and they also have lots of outside patio seating. I got the enchiladas which were ok. I was shocked that fajitas were not on the menu which was a disappointment. They had friendly service and the chips and salsa were good.

Been looking for a little Mexican spot this side of town and think I’ve found it! It was busy and the parking was tight but the food was good and the drinks were strong! Parked in the lot by the dry cleaners but was worried since they had a tow sign. The hostess said it was safe but didn’t want to risk it so moved it over when a spot opened. We had house margaritas, chicken soup, tacos norteños, and shared nachos compuestos. The soup had a good flavor and a lot of shredded chicken – had to take half of it home. The tacos were quesadilla-like and so good! The nachos were just ok. Took pics post margarita so they’ve of half eaten food but just know it’s definitely worth a try! It was so busy we only saw our waiter a couple times but felt like he kept an eye on us since we never had to ask for anything. Definitely hit the spot!

While on a trip to San Antonio I went to two different Mexican food restaurants and I just found this one mediocre I didn’t see anything special. However they do have outdoor seating which I thought was kind of nice. I got the chicken tortilla soup which was okay and we tried their chicken nachos I didn’t feel like the chickenhead bunch of flavoring so we ended up using it and the sauce that was given.

We live right at the corner and we went visited after passing by every day. It is a wonderful little restaurant. I love authentic Mexican food where as my husband’s idea of good Mexican food is Taco Bell. We were both totally empressed with everything we had. I can’t say a single bad thing about this place!

This is one of my top 5 places in San Antonio, and I’ve lived here for 17 years. The patio is beautiful, laid back, relaxing. The margaritas are strong and delicious. The food is delightfully flavorful(Pastor tacos are legit, so is the queso flamedo and tacos al carbon). The whole menu is delicious. Even on a busy night, it’s worth the wait. The wisteria draping the patio and other plants give it a secret garden feel. This is the perfect sunny afternoon, start early, relaxing, margarita spot.

This has been a interesting transformation. El Mirasol has been here since Jesus was in shorts. For years it was the go to place for the rich old white ladies with blue hair. But a while back, a transformation began to take hold. The interior has been tweaked a little as has the menu. Now it is a true, authentic Mexican cuisine kind of place… including and especially the bar. Try a Paloma. The typical Paloma is tequila, lime juice and Squirt(a grapefruit soda) but here they make it with fresh grapefruit juice. It’s delicious. All of their drinks are delicious. And the food is now killer. It’s not the usual tex-mex offering like in days of old. It is truly influenced by the different regions of Mexico. The seafood transports me to Puerto Vallarta or Veracruz. The meat dishes take me straight to Mexico City or Guadalajara. This place has morphed into one of thre top places in San Antonio

Can I give this place 8 stars? Or 10 or however high I can go. This was a random Unilocal find after playing putt putt at the nearby Monster mini golf place. This was the most authentic tasting Mexican food I have had in a while. It’s a neat little place, no pretentious frills, extremely attentive servers. The mole sauce and the chipotle sauce were incredible with our enchilada. I loved them both and couldn’t pick one of the 2 sauces. So I mixed both on my veggie enchiladas… The menu read spinach in the veggie enchiladas(which is not necessarily my favorite for the mushy texture), however these veggie enchiladas had crispy, grilled vegetables. Delicious! The meat dishes that rest of the family got were great as well from what I heard. The drinks were pretty good as well with adequate amount of alcohol in them. Overall I would give this restaurant 5+ stars. Definitely a recommend!

I’ve been to many a dinner at El mirasol, it is one of my mo s all time favorites! That and it is close to our area and while it can sometimes get a bit crowed there is never too long of a line. I have tried tons of their menu over the years and I must say I have never been disappointed. While the portions are not huge, they will fill you up and the quality of food it on par with the prices. They have very tasty margaritas(I think I have tried every one) they are a bit pricey(for my broke budget) but they are twenty thousand times better than a large majority of the margs I have had in my experience, worth the price! I am a huge fan of the little patio they have and the service has always been great! Great neighborhood place for a great meal and great drinks!

Best Mexican food in San Antonio. HANDSDOWN. Keep in mind that this place is very unique. It definitely has a different flavor & flair than the rest of the city. With that being said, their flavors suit MY palate. The lobster enchiladas, shrimp tacos, crab taquitos(can you see a trend; I love seafood & mexican). Cheese enchiladas w/beef fajita on top. The CHISPA margaritas. & the chips are good. Pretty much everything. I love perfect weather days sitting outside on the patio. Service is not so great but I care more about the food. Don’t come here if you have limited time for a lunch break. You will be late; your boss won’t like that.

I love the patio here! I just don’t love the food :( I’m inclined to try this patio again for a couple of drinks but I doubt I’ll be trying any of the food as it was just too overpriced and under seasoned.
