Rachel was very friendly and easy to communicate with in setting up service. I cancelled on her once and then re-set service for the following day with great ease. I really appreciated her last-minute help. I wanted a monthly service so I could use my weekends off to be with my kids, instead of being elbow deep in cleaning tubs and floors. I was super excited after speaking to her and getting it all set up. I had high expectations, especially since she laughed when I told her how OCD I was. So, today was our first cleaning by Elbow Grease. It wasn’t at all what I expected from her. My husband came home to an unlocked front door, which surprised us since I had gone over instructions to our tricky front door lock with her several times. My husband immediately texted me that house was left open and it looked like nobody had been in our home to clean. I contacted Rachel about the door and the cleaning(lack of appearance of), only to be told she is certain she locked the door, and that she supervised the entire cleaning. The ceiling fans are coated in dust, the baseboards have spiderwebs and dirt on them, the guest bath toilet was untouched, our master bath mirror uncleaned, the entire master closet and dining room did not get vacuumed, master bedroom blinds didn’t get dusted. All of these are checked off on her list, but not done. I texted her immediately about all this. To be fair, she did offer to come back and correct the items they missed, which I appreciate, but maintained the entire time that they HAD cleaned EVERYTHING. I declined. The job was THAT bad, and it really bothers me that she says she was there supervising, and so much just isn’t done. Shortly after discussing with Rachel, I got a text notification that my check to her had cleared the bank. I sent her text photos of items that were still filthy in the home, but had been marked off on the checklist she left at our house. Also, there was also a note on the checklist they left that they had found our back door unlocked, but left it that way. I appreciate the note, but maybe a quick text or call would have been great to let us know it’s open. It would have taken maybe 5 seconds. Through the entire process, Rachel was very patient and sweet, but wouldn’t admit that their was a lack of quality of service. That to me says a lot about a person and their business. I’m glad she got what I promised in the deal — $ 25 an hour… to the tune of $ 125 total. I got maybe an hour’s worth of cleaning out of the deal, and have to do it all again MYSELF this weekend instead of hanging out with my family. Maybe it was just an off day for Elbow Grease, but I just can’t be convinced that, with her there supervising, THAT much could have been just«overlooked».
