I grew up in So Cal and spent 2 years in AZ. I have eaten in tons of Filipino restaurants. But, I was surprised on how good the food was here. I went there yesterday. It’s hidden on the corner of the shopping plaza. Ordered a few dishes. I was getting antsy because it was taking a while for my food to come. But, boy was it worth the wait!!! It’s because they cook it fresh and just for you. You must try!

I love going to this resto! The food is always fresh and served with a smile. The food selection is huge, also cooked at the time you order making sure that it’s fresh all the time. The ambience of the resto is very welcoming and well lit, I’m definitely recommending this place to friends and family

Come with a big family or big group, the wait for the food is long but totally worth it! Owners are great people, food is incredible, and the sari-sari store is stocked up!

Food is delicious. Lumpias, Pansit and adobo chicken had great taste. Pretty clean place. FYI, don’t Kitchen fans don’t work that great, kitchen smell takes over the entire restaurant. Great service!

It’s a great place to connect with Filipinos not to mention that they served excellent foods too.

«Live, laugh and love.» It’s on the wall… all over the walls. Upon entry I was hoping for a great authentic filipino dining experience and it was, but in the wrong ways. Bummer. The place was struggling for an identity. It looked like an event space, a restaurant, kitchen, cooking school and partial grocery store. The chairs were decorated with dated unmatched covers from past weddings. The décor was confusing with quotes on the walls and potted plants littered around. The kitchen area was open to the dining area. It was messy and had random kitchen equipment in plain sight of the diners. Sisig was waaay too salty and beyond spicy! I don’t recommend it. Take it off the menu. Tosilog plate was okay. Tosino flavor tasted like it was opened and cooked from something prepackaged and bought at Tim’s Oriental Market. Was this flavored by the chef or purchased this way? BBQ meat sticks were salty and 1⁄3 of the meat was burned at the tip! It underperformed. Lechon kawali was delicious! Crunchy, flavor… give me more. Thank heavens for this dish. I’m from Los Angeles where there are tons of authentic filipino restaurants and unfortunately, this restaurant just can’t compare. I’m not sure if it’s lack of fresh ingredients and spices in San Antonio or the recipes, but it wasn’t the same. Too salty and oily. The ambience of the restaurant was a let down and seemed to perpetuate the stereotype that filipino restaurants are littered with knick-knacks and nonsense décor. It really missed the details. I’ll return to give this place another chance, maybe it was just an off day for the restaurant.

Friendly owners serving fairly authentic home-cooked food, just like home! Had oxtail kare-kare, binagoongang baboy, pancit bihon, and sago(tapioca drink). The open kitchen makes it feel like a welcoming home. Price could be a little lower, but it’s definitely still reasonable. In case you’re interested, they have kareoke on Friday nights, but it’s mostly older folks.

Exceptional Filipino taste. Very large portion sizes Service is excellent I will come back again. The prices are very cheap too. Don’t let the appearance of the outside keep you away.

My 4th time coming. Love the way they cook. It reminds me of being at moms house for Filipino food. The owners are very sweet. I’ll be back again!

YAAAASYAAAAAAAAAS this place is the bomb dot com! Let me just say God blessed the man cooking for us, everything was freshly made right before our eyes! Coming from a filipino family this gem was able to instill happiness in its most purest form. I am satisfied. Lechon kawali was crispy and hot. The sinigang OHMAAN soon guuud im crying. Mmm even their rice was heavenly so fluffy and warm with every bite I was cradled by angels.

Sad there is no oxtail in the Kari kari but simply beef chunk. The owner stated that oxtail was too expensive,…okayyyy so what’s up with that?

Was here for a late lunch today. I ordered the lechon kawali and Kare-Kare with maruya and ginataan for dessert. Food was good, but the ambience not so much, its like going to a regular carenderia in PI and you could smell that kitchen smell for oil and stuff altogether. Waited 30 minutes for the food, and I expected a lot or the lechon kawali too. I’d say that if you re craving for Filipino food you could check this place out for starters, but I’d definitely look for better Filipino restaurant around San Antonio before I dine here again. Staff are nice though…

First of all, they don’t have lunch buffet anymore. I came here for lunch, ordered Kare Kare, ox tail cooked in peanut sauce, egg plant, okra and string beans. It came out in about 10 mins with a bowl of steamed rice. The ox tail is good, but the peanut sauce is not flavorful, eggplant/okra /string beans are ok. Overall, it is OK, I would come back for lunch if I’m in the neighborhood, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

The food here honestly is not THAT bad… I mean it’s no San Francisco, but sheesh… at least the food has some decent-ish flavor. It’s a bit on the greasy side, but at least it’s nice to watch the game at… LOL I used to eat here bout 4 – 5 years ago and I can say this place is really not too bad… but then again all the Unilocal reviews recently has told me otherwise… I’ll still give this place a fair rating from my own experience… However, if I’m back in San Antonio. I’ll be back to judge again!

Just found this place, decided to try it out today — glad I did! Very comfortable, and like the other reviewers it reminded me of home! The owners are very polite and personable. Food is GOOD. Kitchen is open, kind of old school filipino — paper plates, plastic cups and silverware, and I like it. I don’t care, the food is good and you feel good eating there! I went during the lunch buffet, so I didn’t check out or order from the menu. The food on the line all looked good. Sinigang was right on, adobo was good, rice sticky, and the desserts deserve a visit on their own. Did I mention it was affordable? I’m definitely going to help these folks stay in business. :)

Yes you eat on paper plates and plastic utensils(previous review complaint). this place is Old School for real. and for 5.99 for lunch buffet AND a drink. How can you beat that? I didn’t save room for dessert. :(but I will go back. Food was good. 1 lady in the kitchen cooking on a gas top stove like mom and bringing the food out as it’s done. There was only one other gentleman there(son?) so clean up after yourselves. If you want to feel like your eating at someone’s house. this is the spot. Looking for fancy over priced food and a pretty dining room? go somewhere else.
