NOSHRIMP??? How does a stir fry restaurant during the lunch hour NOT have shrimp? So unreliable. I came here a few years back and they disappointed. I thought I’d give them another try… another disappointment. Bummer… oh well, guess the place around the corner gets my business today. Good thing I wasn’t ordering for the entire office today!

It’s basically a mall food court generic Chinese place, but not in a mall. Patrons get a ton of mediocre food for not much money, so that’s a plus. They have a rotating lunch special menu that’s like six bucks for an entrée, rice choice, egg roll, and a pop. None of the options are especially tasty, and I’m pretty sure most of the food comes from a warming tray rather than straight from a wok, but you’re probably in a hurry and won’t mind. So if you’re really hungry and are kindof light in the wallet that day, you could make worse choices.

Huebner location. Customer service was okay. But food was atrocious. Everything bad. I ordered build your own stirfry with tofu and brown rice, seems simple enough. I was told to pick out my own vegetables most of which looked old or they were empty I got the last two green beans and someone beat me to the black beans. I also ordered hot and sour soup for my appetizer the girl behind the counter did not tell me that the hot and sour soup was full of seafood even though I ordered a tofu item clearly suggesting that I did not want to eat meat. My soup and food came out at same time. Forcing me to choose one of them to get cold while I ate the other. I decided to dig into the soup first bad decision. My first spoonful seemed normal until I put it in my mouth chewy chewy chewy what could this be spit out what was in my mouth to discover that I had been chewing on squid. I was needless to say appalled. I decided to try out my stirfry before going to complain about my soup. What can I say very bland rice was undercooked tofu was OK but not great. After moment I went up to the front to inquire about the soup. The manager who was a boy that looked just old enough to drive asked if he could help me and when I explained to him that I did not know there was meat in the soup he offered me something else. I accepted the offer of spring rolls instead and went back outside to my table of food to wait for them. After what seemed like an incredibly long time for spring rolls the manager brought them out to me. They were not very good. Much too much breading not enough vegetables. I just got up and left more than half of my food. I think my favorite thing that I had at fire wok today was my water with lemon. I wouldn’t eat here again for $ 100. I feel sick and will be needing tums as soon as I get home.

I have been here previously, and it hasn’t been as bad as it was today. The tables and seats were dirty, fountain drink machine didn’t have they syrups calibrated. Wonton soup was bad, and egg flower soup was salty. Food was ok, but you can definitely get better stuff at other places. Place has gone down. Doesn’t feel like they are keeping it up.

Tastes like the chinese food you get in the frozen food section at HEB. Not bad. Just not good.

Plus a half a star. This place is really good for the price and portion size. I have had several different dishes and all have been pretty good. Nothing amazing but compared to some of the other Chinese food chains in the area this is the cream of the crop. Normally I just get teriyaki chicken which is my fav. Simple and tasty. Tried other options today and all were okay. The rating is based off the restaurant. Sad to say it seems a little dirty inside. Maybe it’s just me but it seems that way. Just needs a good cleaning I think. And the salad bar deal is just a waste of food to me. I can’t see anyone eat what’s in those containers. It would easily be a 4+ star place if it didn’t seem so dirty.

After reading previous reviews Fire Wok is definitely on a decline. Never ate here before so first time trying it and for sure deserves a 1 star if even. Ordered sesame chicken and was so disappointed, this is far from being any kind of Asian food, even in America. I asked for a refund(my dish was so bad I didn’t even want to try anything else) but they«no longer offered refunds». I figured after over hearing an employee explain to a man on the phone how another San Antonio Fire Wok location had closed. I ended up exchanging for Pad Thai and flavoring it up myself at home, since I didn’t want to be «credited for later»(not going back). Panda Express across the street is SO much better(because they actually have real flavor in their food)

Don’t don’t order the beef here. Its chewy like eating rubber and tasted like it too. Yea the tables are dirty and disgusting too! Yea they let me swap it out for something else but no other comp. I mean how long do they think a lunch is? Oh i got my money back but I got no other option for anything else. This place is nad really bad had to send the second order back. Really shitty!

Pretty gross. Most tables were dirty long after people left. The lemon chicken special was downright disgusting — skin and burned lemon sauce glaze … ¾ of my plate of white undercooked rice. Tge egg roll was nasty. The pad thai … why bother. You get it … don’t eat here.

I had the Kung pao chicken lunch special, which comes with your choice of brown, white, or fried rice and an egg roll. I had the brown rice and added the crab and cream cheese fried won ton(4) all for just under $ 10! This was a great deal for lunch with quick service and decent food. I will definitely be back to try some of the other options. Not much room for large groups of people. We had 6 people but luckily it was somewhat slow at the time we had gone. Highly recommend and will be back!!!

This was my first time dining at a Fire Wok. For my first time I was pretty impress. My food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Their menu is diverse and had a lot of good things that caught my eye for a picker eater like myself. For it to be what I would considered semi fast food, they blew my expectations right out of the water. I am definitely coming back.

It was a late night dinner run, staff was great and happy to have me even though it was near closing. The food was great like always!

The price for the food is pretty affordable in my personal opinion. However the food is just ehh, I got the miso soup which was just the saltiest thing I have ever tasted. It was also a bit sour as well? I would suggest you stay away from that dish! I also tried the fried rice which was kind of flavorless. Would I go here again? Nope!

Taylor has horrible customer service skills. I called to place an order for pick up at 9:43. She sighed and reminded me they close at 10. She then told me just hold on. I placed my order with her and she again said we close at 10 and our registers will be closed. I never said I wasn’t able to make it by 10. If you’re open until 10, you should offer your services until 10. I’ll take my business elsewhere and Taylor you need to sharpen up your customer service skills if you plan to work with the public. After all, food sales is why you receive a paycheck.

Got the sesame chicken and white rice for lunch. It was ok food. Nothing special or worth going back for again. My Co workers stated that their food tasted old as well. It just wasn’t a good experience overall.

I’m going to be really fair here mainly due to the consistent quality and service I’ve received from Fire Wok for years. The food has always been and continuous to be extremely delicious for the cost which makes going here for Chinese a no-brainier. As long as you stay away from certain dishes, you will find the flavor to be on par with Golden Wok. Some dishes to stay away from: beef and broccoli or anything with the skirt steak in it. Not that it’s bad, just not unique or great for that matter. The lemon chicken is delicious. The chow fun bowl is full of flavor… and grease so if you have a queasy stomach, skip it. My ultimate recommendation is to order one of the fried rice entrees. I’m not a vegetarian by any means however, stick with the vegetable fried rice or island fried rice. Both are superb. Lastly, my beef with Fire Wok(pun intended) is with the delivery service. For the time they have had a delivery service, it hasn’t been extremely expedient but I got my meal within 45 minutes on a consistent basis. The past two delivery orders have been terrible. The first, never arrived and after calling 3x and 1.5 hours later, had them make a fresh order which I picked up. The second time, the order was about 1.5 hours from order to deliver time and cold. Fire Wok is on the decline but still hanging by a thread in my book.

Went there for lunch today and the breading on my chicken was that of mashed potatoes. So we woked out.

The tables were dirty first off, I brushed it off. But then I found HAIR in my boyfriends food. We asked for a refund and they only refunded one of our dishes not the whole meal. Food had too much sauce not enough vegetables. Service was terrible! Everything just terrible!

Well, I did enjoy the fortune cookie. It was perfectly crunchy and sweet, so kudos to that! The meal, however, was not good. At all. We decided to get takeout on a Thursday night thinking it’d just be a normal Pei Wei-like meal. Well, we were wrong. It was way below average. The man on the phone didn’t follow the instructions, even though I made sure to emphasize, and the worst part of all — the only two ingredients I could taste was salt and oil. Another thing… The menu should probably describe the item as it really is, because I will say that the menu is very much inaccurate. So, we ordered the following: chicken pot stickers, sizzling pan fried noodles and flaming mongolian. The pot stickers were average at best, but everything else is a completely different story — I requested to receive EXTRA sauce on the side for the flaming mongolian; what I received was a sauce-less meal(and I mean all white chicken and merely sautéed vegetables) with a soy sauce-like sauce on the side. I also asked to make it extra spicy. Yeah, that also didn’t happen. I ended up having to make my own meal, and all I could taste was soy sauce. It was liquid-y and just… Bad. The aftertaste was terrible. And, same thing with the noodles — hard noodles with oil and soy sauce. I’m beginning to think they don’t really have any special sauces. So, yes. My experience with the food wasn’t swell in the least bit and I don’t think I will be returning.

I’ve been coming to Fire Wok since 2010 or so, tonight it took a wrong turn. While the service was great, the food was less than stellar. My fried rice tasted like it had been sitting out for way too long(it was pretty stale) and the lemon chicken was overcooked. I’m going to chalk it off as a bad night for them since I have never left disappointed prior to tonight. On any other day, reasons why you should come here: great stop if you’re shopping at Huebner Oaks, the food is CHEAP, the portions are HUGE, and the food comes out FAST. So if these things appeal to you then you might as well give it a try. You can’t really go wrong for 7 bucks a person.
