Small, «hole in the wall» that people think about when they want good Mexican food. Been coming here for years off and on. Chips and salsa when you sit down, salsa is warm and tasty, but there is a little container of hot green salsa on the table tastes like puréed jalapeños. The breakfast tacos are huge, so I ordered two. Bacon and egg, and lengua. The waitress said the barbacoa was only on weekends, and she asked me if I wanted the lengua instead. I’ve always put off trying lengua, but I figured it was good if Garibaldis had it on the menu. Since I am a gringo, she asked if I want flour tortillas, because corn is the most authentic. The lengua taco tasted like barbacoa, it had the consistency of brisket. Price was extra affordable, I spent under $ 5 for so much food, I didn’t finished the chips.

The little neighborhood café is a real jewel… if you are looking for a genuine Tex/Mex experience and OUTSTANDING food. It is small so you may have a wait. Like most family owned Mexican restaurants they’re only open 6AM to 2PM. Everything I have eaten has been very good BUT the Star of the place is their Tortillas. The flour tortillas are 5Star and the Corn tortillas are off the chart!!! Easily the best in town. Try this place for breakfast or lunch. You’ll be glad you did!!!
