This place is seriously one of my favorite coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The drinks are awesome, the atmosphere is very mellow, and the people that work there are super friendly and know their stuff. Having just moved from the east coast where most of my options include Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and more Dunkin Donuts, it’s great to have a new *local* favorite. Thanks guys.

This is one of those coffee shops you’ll definitely want to make a regular stop at. Sometimes hole in the wall coffee shops have the best feel, but the coffee is only OK. That is NOT this place. Their coffee is ridiculously good and the baristas are friendly and knowledgable about the drinks. I got their cereal milk latte, which I actually heard about in another Unilocal review. It was AMAZING! They said they soak it in the milk for 14 hours. Today was fruity pebbles. I am a huge fan!

Good for what it is. We don’t have a ton of Indy coffee places on this side of town, so it’s great in that respect. I would love it if they added more to their food selection.

Nice décor and workers. 12oz single size coffee for $ 3+tax is too high. No prices or descriptions on menu.

Walking into Indy Coffee is a lot like walking into your best friends living room post-party. The environment is small enough to feel intimate and cozy, but large enough to provide room to study/hang-out. There are various antique memorabilia places around the shop, as well as plenty of chairs and even a few couches for those looking to sit in. The place is usually packed, especially with UTSA students because of its proximity to the UTSA Main Campus. The employees themselves are super friendly and very knowledgeable on their offerings. The coffee itself was very good, and I very much enjoyed the customization options they provided, from sugar and milk to the much coveted sweet«cereal milk.» The prices were on-par with Starbucks, but very much worth it if you consider the local variety and their other offerings. One of my favorite aspects about Indy Coffee is how quick it is to receive an order here, they have a electronic system that does most of the credit-card prompts automatically while they go about making your drink, this means you can legitimately be in and out in under two minutes. I’ll definitely be coming back! (P.S. The Spurs often drop by, especially Patty Mills. :P)

One of my favorite coffeeshops in SA hands down. I’ve been to pretty much every single shop in SA and this ranks in my top — a different décor from most and a more chill vibe I would say. It’s located near UTSA so you’ll see a lot of UTSA students coming in and out. OUTLETS/TABLES: All of this is super important to me since every time I get to a coffeeshop, I’m there to study! It’s a rare day(never) when I’m not studying haha. So this place has about 4 – 5 tables with plenty of outlets next to each table. Each table holds 4 stools and then there’s a nice couch seating area in the back as well! There’s also plenty of outside seating if the weather is nice. The music is low key and the whole atmosphere is perfect for getting stuff done! WiFi connection is always strong. COFFEE/FOOD: So I am in love with the lattes here. They are quite different from most coffeeshops because they have a secret menu which is available on certain days and runs out pretty fast as the day goes on so get there early to grab a cup of it! Their specials can be seen on their instagram and they’re usually — cereal milk, maple syrup, cinnamon toast crunch, fruit loop, fruity pebbles — really unique stuff they’re doing with the coffee. I’ve only had their CEREALMILKLATTE and it’s divine! Also if you’re a sucker for green tea, the GREENTEALATTE is fantastic here — one of the best I’ve had. As for FOOD, they have an assortment of donuts and I heard their breakfast tacos are pretty good but they run out early in the morning so you’ll have to get there early to try it. PARKING: Plenty of street parking around the shop and also apparently the parking garage behind the shop is free(which I didn’t know!) HOURS: And unlike a lot of shops in SA, this one is actually OPENLATE! Woo! Great for students. CONS: I think the secret menu of different coffee flavors is a genius idea but I do wish all the options for the day were on a chalkboard near the actual menu. I think it would be great for them to have a daily menu and then just cross out what flavors have already run out. Because now, you just have to ask the front what their specials are for the day. Can’t wait to come back again and try their other flavors and food!

Great vibe, awesome décor, and top notch service. The baristas here are truly skilled, work fast, but always deliver quality coffee. Price is on point, never paid more than $ 5 for any of the lattes. The menu always has a few unique options in addition to the traditional stuff, and they’re always taking the next step to create something different for their customers. I have been to Rosella, Press, halcyon, local, olmos perk, aspen, candlelight, brown coffee co and a few others in San Antonio. I can safely say I have never enjoyed any of their drinks as much as the Green tea latte and the Cereal milk latte at Indy. They’re both so unique, so delicious, and downright addicting. Keep on experimenting Indy, y’all are killing it. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of outlets, and a great wifi connection. Perfect spot to study, catch up with friends, bring a date, or even just stop by to pick up a drink to go. There’s also a lot of parking both on the side of the road and there is an entire parking garage right next to the coffee shop. I have also heard they have killer homemade spiced chicken empanadas and breakfast tacos, so I’ll definitely be coming back to try some of the food(they run out fast though).

Seeing the progression of the lovely local coffee heroes that compromise Indy Coffee Co. Grow from a creative food truck, to a full fledged coffee lounge, is certainly inspiring. Always trying to innovate with fresh coffee ideas, such as their cereal milk lattes, keeping their ingredients top notch, and aiming for a contemporary Americana vagabond aesthetic, has shown so much promise for these gents. I keep up with their instagram, and when I heard that they were coming out with new food, such as homemade spiced chicken, and potato empanadas, and sugared sesame cakes, I had to stop in to try them this morning! I heavily recommend the sesame cakes, warmed, and crispy on the outside, gives way to a delightfully buttery center, that is perfectly complimentary to a refreshing Dirty Brown, or ice coffee, with homemade vanilla syrup, and cream. I suggest Indy to any coffee lover, foodie, Indy, lounger soul that wants to experience a great local business!

Just moved to SA from NYC, this place has a very Williamsburg vibe with young hip baristas & young crowd. Tried their Dirty Brown Iced Cofee and it was ONPOINT. Come here for the cool, hip, good coffee.

This place was small and comfortable in a still developing complex of a student oriented apt complex right across from UTSA. Used the parking garage behind the place at no charge. Friendly and informative staff described the different types of tea very well, 2 non-caffeinated and one green tea. Had the green tea & toasted rice, which they served in a nice teapot and a separate mug & saucer. The teapot gave me 3 cups of the tea. Seating was backless metal stools that didn’t get uncomfortable even after a couple of hours of studying. Good study spot with medium noise level, crowd and music, that would easily match any Starbucks location. Support Local Biz!

Indy coffee is the definition of a hipster coffee joint, complete with terriums and Edison bulbs in every corner, $ 5 coffee(but no prices listed), and scruffy(and friendly) baristas punching your order into an iPad. In north Texas these coffee joints are(quite literally) on every corner, with their reclaimed wood seating and heavily tattooed employees and artisan vegan food, but I think this is the first one I’ve been to here in San Antonio. Don’t get me wrong, I like the hipster vibe! I’m just trying to describe the atmosphere and clientele you are likely to encounter. So, first off, the employees were really nice and friendly. They greeted us, engaged us in conversation, answered questions, and made excellent recommendations. The service wasn’t fast, at all, I think we waited 90 seconds for my iced green tea latte but about 6 minutes for our vanilla latte. I don’t mind but if they had called out names instead of orders it probably would have kept another customer from trying to take the drink from us. The drinks were fantastic! Absolutely no complaints, the drinks tasted very good. I wish the menu was more traditional(why are standard coffee drinks renamed?), and I would like to see maybe a specialty drink too. I also tried a cinnamon crumble donut which was extremely tasty!(Side note, you guys should get in on that ‘specialty donut’ craze, you’d make a killing) All in all my visit was a very pleasant experience and I look forward to coming back.

The vanilla latte is my daughter’s go-to drink. The espresso is made manually by their barista and you can see that their beans are freshly ground and packed right in front of you. The result is a rich and boldly flavored espresso drink with fruity and deep notes, indicating the quality behind Indy’s product. The vanilla syrup is also hand made, you can see the vanilla beans floating in the bottle. At Indy, they take coffee making as an art and science.

Very nice little coffee shop. Reminds me of Browns coffee. Got the iced coffee dirty style. Drank it way to fast and at $ 5 bucks I can’t go back for more.

Love Indy coffee so much! The staff is so friendly and the coffee is delicious. The only downside is the location. They moved from a food truck to a store front at UTSA. so you have to fight the college crowd traffic if you want a cup of this coffee in the morning.

This is the brick and mortar location of the people formerly in a food truck and what a nice iteration it is. A beautiful long wood bar greets you when you walk into the store with the bar crowned by a they espresso machine. The entire vibe pays homage to minimalism with whimsical touches like a coffee altar that reminds one of the little altars to saints in old mexican restaurants. A bookshelf with books and games finishes off the décor. The coffee is of course excellent. Well pulled espressos, nicely constructed macchiatos and cortados are a lovely treat. Combine this will owner/baristas who can discuss the coffee, origins and flavor profiles, and you have fandom.

AHH! SO glad that Indy was finally able to open up their B&M location after so many delays from the apartment developer. Indy has a great Texan ambiance with natural colors and light making the space feel very welcoming, warm, and easy to stay in. There is ample couch space for hanging out, as well as wood tables with metal chairs for those that need to study(and power outlets to boot!). There is also a short bar area that the staff crafted, stained, and installed themselves. Basically everything at Indy was done by hand by the staff, from installing the bar counter to putting up the lights to decorating the space. It’s got a really cool vibe! As far as the drinks go, Indy is definitely on par with some Austin establishments like Figure 8 and Vintage Heart. They source their beans from Flat Track and have pulled some of the baristas from Local Coffee to hang out at Indy. Their menu is simple with no prices(one of the small detractors for me, but I get the marketing) and some standard drinks have been renamed. Gibraltar is a cortado, and Eagle Scout is an Americano! they also have off-menu drinks, so be sure to ask about it before you order. LOVE the coffee and environment here. Definitely stop by if you’re in the UTSA area. Also, there’s a parking garage BEHIND Indy that’s free! Go park there instead of on the street. There is totally free wifi too, so stay a while! :)

I’m happy to report that the brick and mortar Indy Coffee doesn’t disappoint! I had visited Indy once back when it was a truck out at the Rim’s farmer’s market. I tried the Olé Prospector, which was perfect for a summer’s day. They used local Fredericksburg peaches to make a syrup, and although mine was missing the fresh peach garnish, it was still topped with the delicious cinnamon and sugar dusting. It was a treat. I had some time before work one morning, so I thought I’d check out the new location on UTSA. It was a little tricky to park, as it’s included in an apartment type building with no front lot. Once inside, I was impressed with the décor. It’s true to the Indy Coffee«branding» that they’ve created, and although it may not be the most welcoming place to chill out for days on end, it’s put together flawlessly. I was greeted quickly and with a smile. I asked about the«off menu» drinks I had heard so much about, but the cereal milk lattes were not available.(I usually get almond or soy in my drinks, though, so I’m not sure if their cereal milk lattes are even available with something other than cow milk. Worth asking if you’re worried about it.) The barista told me about their Coco Loco which includes coconut oil, and it sounded delicious! I asked for an extra shot, and the barista said that the oil«brings out the caffeine» in the coffee(or something) and that I wouldn’t necessarily need it.(I went for the extra shot anyway.) This was some seriously good coffee, y’all. The flavors were intense and beautiful and everything I wanted in a morning cup. I was definitely pleased with my purchase, and I didn’t regret the extra shot. The only downside is it’s a bit pricey. I ended up paying about twice the price as I would at the ‘Bucks, but I will also say the quality was on par with what I paid(and I feel much much better drinking local). Definitely not something I could afford on the daily, but a wonderfully delicious treat!

I absolutely love this place. I am here almost everyday to fulfill my never ending need for coffee. The owners and all of the staff are as nice as can be, and always bring my coffee out to wherever I am sitting, even when it’s really busy! I highly recommend getting the cereal milk latte, or the Sean Pecan-ery if they are currently making them that day! Definitely a different take on a latte, which I love! And if you are a fan of iced cold brew coffee, get the dirty brown. It is always my go to drink if I am not sure what I want, AND it has their homemade vanilla in it too! I am VERY happy that I have found my go-to coffee shop in San Antonio. Finally a coffee shop that is not located in the downtown area!

So I don’t know how limited Indy’s menu actually is. I think they are actually making a lot of other drinks and keeping them on the down low. I hear about the fruity pebbles infused cappuccino and the coco loco. Today I ordered a pecan pie latte which was just as delicious as all the other drinks I’ve tried. None of these drinks are on their standard menu. I can’t handle this secret menu stuff! They seem to offer a lot of drinks here, I just wish they were more obvious about that. I think it would be cool if they at least had a chalkboard with new drinks they are concocting or drink specials/suggestions with these drinks that aren’t up on the standard menu so people know about them. I guess for now I’ll just have to ask if they have a drink like so and so.

Pros: –great location, less than a mile from UTSA; plenty of parking –nice space to study, cool artwork; overall it’s very student friendly and chill –the menu is simple and not overdone; I sense pride in their selection and how their coffee is made. There is a lactose-free whole milk option, which does not ruin the integrity of the coffee as opposed to soy milk. –I really liked my Coco Loco latte! I never was a big fan of coconut, but I think that’s changed now. Delicious! –super friendly staff Cons: –most places to sit are high bar stools with no backs to hang your backpack or purse. A good addition to their tables would be some purse hooks underneath. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in town again!

As a student from UT Austin, I’ve been waiting for my chance to try Indy coffee for a long long time… And let me tell ya, it did not disappoint. Love that you can park in a parking garage – some people may not like walking(it’s still close, just across the street), but I love the upside of getting free covered parking. The interior has great vibes. It’s clean, inviting, and cool. My favorite part is definitely the great woodwork at the counter, but the Texas art and cute succulents are a close second. There’s also a lot of great natural light in the shop, which makes it ideal for studying, having a meeting, or just hanging out. Staff is super friendly and are very willing to help you choose a drink. Some drink names aren’t standard, but they’ll break any drink down for you. It was also cool to see how they appreciated old customers and got to know new customers who wanted to chat. FINALLY, the coffee. I was recommended the coco loco(coconut coffee), and I loved it. The coffee was smooth, the foam was thick, and the flavor was great. Tldr; 10⁄10 would come again, even if it’s an hour and a half drive away.

The brick and mortar location is finally open!!! Located in the closest proximity to UTSA/house, I find myself frequently this place… how many times? …2many2count!1!111 It can be kind of hard to find parking though because the whole complex is still being furnished. Indy is clean, hip, modern, bright, chill, busy, etc etc etc. I love that there’s outlets next to every table. The seats are stools without backs though… so I can’t study here long. There is one cozy couch in the back, but always seems to be taken up by someone. Coffee still tastes like heaven/perfection in a cup. The baristas are SO nice and really care about their customers. There’s also a selection of pastries, but I haven’t gotten the chance to try them. New things I’ve tried are the dirty brown(ice coffee concentration with other goodies) and the cereal milk cappuccino(they use milk which has been soaked with fruity pebbles for 12 hours… WHAT!). Everytime I’m here, I leave really happily :)

Their new brick and mortar space is dope. The coffee is even better than what they used to serve in the truck. It’s out of the way for most folks but it’s definitely worth the trip. Local kinda fell off when they started using their in-house roasted beans so this place is the best bet right now. They brew Parlor. It’s a very well renowned coffee shop /roastery from NY. 1) It’s hard to find. It’s in a newly built off-campus student housing complex on UTSA blvd. It’s on the bottom floor of a building that’s trying to be a work(or study)-live-play complex. You need to park in the apartment’s building’s parking garage and walk over. 2) Pastries are ok. Sorry I didn’t try them but they are from La Panaderia, not Lorraine. It’s just the matter of personal preference 3) Non-stardard drink names. They list Cortado as Gibraltar. I’ve seen this overseas but not much in the US. If you are looking for flavored drinks ala PSL, this is probably not the best place. A gibraltar with double shot runs 3.75. 4) This place is NOT hipster. It’s an authentic coffee shop that shows dedication to serving good coffee. Why does everyone in this town call everything new and quality hipster? C’mon, this is 2015. Probably better than Figure 8. Fairly comparable to Flat Track. Five stars in comparison to other shops in town. Def. one step down from spots like Heart, Sightglass, and Verve.
