Really affordable food! I went there with my mother and we were in the mood for Mediterranean, and we googled what was nearby and this placed showed up. The restaurant décor was really cute, with images of Greece and it took us there for a bit. We ordered the soup and salad combo and all I can say is that the soup was really tasty and the house salad’s dressing was great. The lady who was our server(I believe she was the owner too) was nice that she only charged us very little for an order of chicken gyro, which was quite enough for one person. When we went, it was lunch time, so they seemed pretty busy and look understaffed… However, the service was always great wile we were having lunch there.

While the food may be acceptable it doesn’t justify for the poor customer service we experienced. Hopefully things will go better in the near future. I ordered a spanakopita which is usually a pastry that is flaky and light, when I took the first bite it was greasy and soggy. I told the only person on the job, which I believe is the owner, and she took it back. I expected to get a new pastry done right, instead she threw my soggy one on the grill and brought it back to me. I was shocked that she would bring back the same thing, just grilled. Also, when we approached the cash register, no one was there, we had to poke into the kitchen to bring out the same lady. We never got a smile or even asked if we liked the food. This restaurant isn’t going to last, there was only 3 tables(during lunch time), and one unhappy server/owner.

We were craving meat and veggies, and decided Greek food was calling our names. I called in the order, and the young lady was very pleasant. She read everything back to me, and we left immediately since living«in the sticks» takes forever to get into the city. I went in to pay, and a more mature in age woman checked me out, but was incredibly unfriendly. It was very business like… gave her my card with a smile, and she didn’t make eye contact or anything. I paid, smiled, grabbed my bag, and left. This is why I’ve given them 4 stars instead of 5. Now, for the food. We ordered the Dieter’s salads with 2 lbs. of gyro meat. The food was absolutely yummy! The salad was large and the gyro meat seasoned quite well. They have an extensive menu which is really nice, and we will likely order again.

After I go to the gym I love to sit outside on their patio! I usually enjoy a gyro and an «A”-named soup. I don’t know the name off the top of my head. But it’s delicious. I love the atmosphere. The gentleman/owner is always so gracious and hospitable. I feel so welcomed which is why I usually sit and eat– Even when I order to go. The dressing is amazing. I usually buy the jar.

I can say that my recent urge for Greek food has been satisfied with John the Greek. My husband and I dropped in one sleepy Monday afternoon. We were the only people in the entire establishment. While I can say that this was certainly not the best Greek that I’ve had, we definitely enjoyed our meal and got to have a nice little chat with who seemed to be John himself? We both ordered chicken gyros which were basic gyros. We thought that the pita was homemade, but after a chat, discovered that they brought them in from Chicago. This was a bit of disappointment, we love scratch kitchens, but we do appreciate the quality and care in picking these out. What stood out for me was the spanikopita. I’m a big fan and this one was delicious. Even my husband, who does not like stronger cheeses, liked this. The crust was tasty, and flaky and the filling was hot and tasty. Overall we would stop back in and return if we were on that side of town but would not make a special trip.

Much better than the more commercially popular Greek restaurants. Sauce is cool and refreshing and the gyro melts in your mouth. The service is fast and friendly. Even my kids enjoy trying something new here.

Three friends each had different dishes all wonderful the rotisserie chicken looked good and was said to be wonderful. We all had avgolemono soup it was real good, Greek salads also great. One friend had a gyro he said it was very good. Service was good too. Will return.

I went on a slow day with another person. There was another 2 couples and only one person came in for a pick-up order. I had half of a Greek salad for an appetizer and a gyro with fries for my meal. The onions were mostly green and the tomatoes were greenish white, but the red part was facing out as if they tried to hide the fact that they served unripened tomatoes. The lamb was dry but had an ok flavor, and the yogurt sauce was lacking flavor. My fries were limp and white, meaning they didn’t cook them all the way. That first impression was my last impression.

Love love love! It’s a small family-owned restaurant, tucked away at the corner of Thousand Oaks and 281(Mom cooks, it’s named for her son, who manages). Chunky tzaziki, zesty avgolemono soup, 12+ ways to order a gyro(lamb or chicken!), and so much more! During warmer days, their patio is a great place to sip and eat. The wait staff never leaves you wondering where they went. I’ve tried Demo’s, and this place beats it hands down, no contest.

Loved it. Traditional Athenian, as opposed to Anatolian, cuisine. I had three appetizers as my meal and was stuffed. The sweet red wine they have is like a light happy port. The atmosphere is homey and the staff friendly. Charming and delicious!

I always go for lunch. Everything from appetizers to gyros and salads to desserts are simply amazing. Traditional, authentic, consistently delicious and very reasonably priced. Always smiling faces and friendly staff, although sometimes they can seem overwhelmed during a peak lunch rush. Doesn’t make the food any less delightful!

Very friendly service and the food was delicious. We went on a Friday night and there was a belly dancer as entertainment which added a festive mood.

Went with a large group of women. The food was excellent and served quickly. The desserts melted in our mouths. I brought home lentil soup & lamb gyro which he enjoyed enough that I think we will be back to visit. Not a bad thing since we live a good 30 – 45 mins away from here.

I really like this place. Honestly i don’t know one greek place from the next. I usually get the gyro and lentil soup. Its always good. Most of all i really dig the ambiance. Its a family run place and you really get the sense your dining at some fun greek relatives house with the live greek music and belly dancing going on. Theres a flaming dish you can order when the owner brings it out he’ll let out an «Opa!» as he’s setting it down. Its a good time, good food, fair price.

Love the avgolemono soup here. The food is authentic, flavorful and at very good prices. This place never seems to be pretty busy but both service and food are very good in my opinion. They have a variety of sweets and desserts too but i have not tried them yet.
