Great food at a great price! The service and the setting was also great. I suggest getting the Aloha latte.

Very yummy. Great food and drinks. Hard to find cause I guess they changed name to Checo’s. Wish I lived here to eat here more often!

So good! We were here on business and just wanted a decent sandwich between the office and the airport this was perfect, local and family owned. Would definitely recommend to others coming to this office from our company.

A small and great little place for some tasty creative crepes. One sweet and talented man and his small little cooker to make amazing flavored crepes for breakfast and/or lunch. Absolute friendly service and what a great combination of flavors for the Oak crêpe — A generous serving of salami and pepperoni filled with cooked mushrooms and topped with their homemade pesto and haus sauce. Their dessert crêpe with mango, strawberries, bananas and Nutella was absolutely amazing served with smooth and sweet vanilla ice cream. The place is very clean, but I only wish they had more options on their menu is I would trust they would be absolutely delicious!

My daughter and I decided to try a new taste treat, on this, the last day of 2015. Crepes! It’s definitely not an every day thing for us. I chose the Maverick which consisted of peach, caramel, peanut butter and small scoop of vanilla ice cream. The peaches worked well with the crunchy peanut butter they use. It’s not a thick smear of peanut butter, but enough to let you know what you’ve got in there. It’s kind of like a PB&J with peaches instead of jelly. My daughter chose the Spring, which has Nutella!(yes!), along with fresh cut strawberries and banana. That’s a winning combination no matter how it’s packaged! Did I mention the Nutella! Sorry, I have to do that every time I use that word. It was a great flavor combination and, as my daughter put it, the perfect introduction to crepes.

What a neat place! Great atmosphere, fresh and healthy food; not to mention, DELICIOUS! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Alberto Murillo, who was not only exceptionally accommodating, but also, very helpful with my menu choices! I will be returning tomorrow night also!!!

Sunday morning 1030am We came by after church to get a little work done before our mall foray. The place was quiet, even with the chef working up front where we can ogle, the overhead music playing crowd pleasers like Coldplay, and other patrons having conversations. + Free wifi + Free water + Make sure to check in for 20% off your first crêpe + Military discount! + Not very loud, I was surprised — Service might be a little slow because there’s one chef and one cashier/drinks person + Plentiful parking + Charlie Brown($ 7.19) with turkey, mushroom, mozzarella, onions, haus sauce. This savory crêpe is fantastic with just so much cheese! After a while the saltiness just sneaks up on you, so if you are thirsty you know why. — Noble($ 7.29) with scrambled eggs, spinach tomatoes, pepper jack and haus sauce. Not my favorite cause there ain’t enough cheese, but the haus sauce is great like a creamy alfredo. + Banana peach pineapple smoothie($ 4.99 for 20oz) is thick. I was hoping it would be more watery(coz that Charlie Brown crêpe) but luckily water is available on the counter. + Poblano and cheese Tamale($ 4.48). The green sauce is spicy central but oh so good! It kind of balances out the rest of the tamale which is kind of on the salty side. The place gets really busy so if you are in a rush, this may not be the fastest. The most people I’ve seen in line is at noon with 7 people. Anyway, there is a reason this place has lots of business. I recommend!

I’ve visited this café twice now and have been impressed both times. It’s hard to spot from the road, but it is next to the Sherlock’s and John the Greek. The atmosphere is relaxed with leather chairs and tables. Some magazines and books are available, but you can relax and bring your own. Water and coffee are set out for refills, so you can easily spend an afternoon here. My first visit was prompted by a Groupon. I tried a sweet crêpe that included ice cream, fruit, and Nutella. It was a big serving so perfect for two or a person who is looking for a very filling afternoon snack. The crêpe is not as traditionally thin as others, but it is still very good. The food takes about 15 minutes or so since it is made to order. My second visit was for the savory crêpe, filled with scallions, ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, and basil. Very delicious and filling. The pepperoni made it a bit overly salty, but I liked the blend of flavor and presentation. The staff is very friendly and I recommend this for a girl’s day out or even some quiet reading location.

Way to go Unilocalers! Unpretentious café with high quality food. The tamales are lard free and come with various combinations of veggie and cheese, closest taste to Mexico City I have found anywhere in San Antonio! The crepes are delicious. I was surprised to learn they have been here 2 years. Definitely will be back!

Came here for breakfast. Around 7:15 — 7:20. 1 person at the register. Not set up and not serving. Not sure why opening hours are 7. Can’t comment on the food or anything else, total bummer. That’s all :/guess I won’t be trying this place out.

The Poblano cheese tamale is excellent. Really enjoyed the Elle crêpe with turkey. Five stars would be if this place had some other organic/eclectic snacks and sweets and cold drinks in the cooler. Something like coconut water and vegan/organic cupcakes or pastries would be perfect!

The great taste café is a little café nestled right next to Sherlock pub in the strip adjacent from wells Fargo. They serve fresh coffee, frappes, lattes, shakes, smoothies, juices, crepes, tamales, and sweets. My gf and I had the oak crêpe and the Elle with chicken, I had a coffee and she had the fit frappé espresso. Everything was wonderful and prepared very quickly and fresh right in front of you. My only complaint/request would be to cut the filings for the crepes into smaller pieces so that it’s easier to enjoy, aside from that the food was excellent and filling without being to heavy. My coffee was amazing and strong while she didn’t have anything bad to say about the frappé either. I will definitely be back for tamales and some of the sweet crepes soon!

I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking for a place that makes a good crêpe– let alone a place that makes crepes at all. As its been mentioned– this place is a little tucked in there. If you turn right onto Thousand Oaks Dr off the frontage road, it’ll be in the mini strip behind the Frost Bank(in the same strip as John the Greek which is also delicious!). The inside itself is VERY café-y. Everything looks like it was graphic’d by someone that works there(who may or may not be going to school for art related things?). I didn’t get a picture of their menu board, but it’s all hand written and very crafty looking. The place as a whole has a very casual vibe about it. They’ve got normal table and chair seating(inside and outside). But they also have a grouping of couches with little TV side tables. As I said, very casual. To the food! So, looking at the pictures on Unilocal,I thought I was still going to be hungry after one crêpe. I was greatly mistaken. The crêpe sizes are pretty large. I should have put a fork or something in my pictures(see pics!) for scale. And the sweet crepes are more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. I got the Spring Crêpe– being a fan of nutella and fruit, this was spot on. The boyfriend got the TGTC crêpe, which to me was a lot like the Spring Crêpe, but they also give you a little scoop of vanilla ice cream. I shamelessly admit I did have a bite and it was delicious. The only reason for the one star deduction was the smoothie I got. It was just… meh. It felt like something was missing. That, and I received it before the crêpe– which is fine, but I made the mistake of letting it sit until we received our crêpe order(which wasn’t fast, but wasn’t slow). By the time I took a sip of it, the consistency got a little weird… I took a picture, but I don’t feel it fully captures the gross consistency after waiting. I am curious about the Hookah portion of this place however. The only reason we fell across TGTC is because we were looking for a Hookah joint near our home, and this place pulled up. I noticed there were some Hookah accessories in some of the corners of the room, however, I didn’t see anything on the menu about it nor any signage. This place closes at 7PM from what I understand, and Hookah is normally a late night thing… so I’m not sure how that works. This place would work great for Hookah though, especially with the outdoor patio and the group of couches inside. Curious…

Great Taste Café is a sweet litle spot for breakfast or lunch– menu has coffee and smoothie drinks, crepes and tamales, and some bakery items. Service is very friendly, and the space has several chairs(indoor and outdoor) and a variety of books and magazines for those who linger. Three of their four smoothies are made with greek yogurt, the one that is all berries is my preference. Heads up that there is a slight sourness to the flavors due to the yogurt, but another option is to have it blended with a peach sorbet instead for sweeter flavors. I am not a fan of crepes, but there is a Unilocal check-in deal for a discount if you order them! The tamales here are prepared off-site(by Tamale Addiction, who also make appearances at area farmers markets) and available in vegan, vegetarian, and meat versions– the black bean and goat cheese flavor was disappointing.

Ya know when you go somewhere and your not familiar with the area and you want something good? Well, I found an incredible place! Great tastes and very nice people! I tried both the crepes and the tamales and they were wonderful. Since coffee is a very heavily pesticided crop, I greatly appreciated the organic coffee!

It’s hard to find this place using GPS! Hint: it’s in a corner near Frost Bank. I ordered the Charlie Brown crêpe and a green juice(its name escapes me). The crêpe was light but filling, flavorful, and decently-sized. The juice was. well juice, neither tasteless nor amazing. Apart from the taste, the ambience plays a big part in how I rate the experience. This place is laid back and perfect for a quick lunch or some Internet browsing, with seating either indoor in couches or tables, or their outdoor patio. The staff is friendly and quick to help and they speak Spanish, so that’s a plus for me!

How is it I’ve gone shopping to once upon a child and never knew this amazing café was in the same complex?! Probably because subconsciously I was getting in over my head. But damn was it a delicious spot to get stuck in. Specialising in crepes and organic tamales, both are done fresh in house and taste like love. Perfect little nest for lovers or anyone wanting a quiet retreat without cavernous spacing and ugly dirty furniture. To think, vegetarian tamales and I’ve passed them a dozen times over the last couple years. The addition of the new Fit Frappé is great though it only comes iced. The Zoé water is for sale here as well, something more typical of Austin than sa. Very reasonably priced I paid $ 4 for a large squirt top Sport bottle and small capped bottle. The xochitl tamale was Awesome. Period. Spice with veggies and very moist for a vegetable based tamale. I customised my sweet crêpe, getting the Autum with added strawberries. Delicioso. The crêpe says dulce de leche but the owner is from Mexico city and influenced his menu with flavours from his home town. It is actually cajeta and is very rich in flavour without just being a sugary topping most caramel and de leche flavoured items come off as.
