I think I just have bad luck with this place so take this for what that’s worth. The first time I went, they were closed during regular business hours. I later learned it was because they had done an all-night thing the night before. A sign on the door saying so would have been nice. The second time things went well, had a coffee and a pastry and hung out for a bit. Tabletop gaming isn’t my thing but it was a nice place. The third time, I walked in, stood in front of the counter for a few minutes, didn’t get any acknowledgement from the person working, so I left. At least give me an «I’m busy, I’ll be with you in a moment,» so I know I’m not being ignored. While my experiences weren’t the best, I’m in the minority. Best of luck to them.

Closes early I guess if nobody’s there. Super bummed, I rushed over here on my lunch to buy !!!10!!! Noob decks for a bunch of coworkers that wanted to learn to play and it was closed and locked us at 8:45 :( 2 star just because the shop looked like a cool place through the window.

This place is a lot of fun, laid-back, friendly and most of all WELLDONE. I was happy to see a variety of games being sold not just Magic the Gathering and D&D items. It’s clean, well lit, comfortable and I look forward to supporting it for years to come. The BBQ plate I had today as their special was a great value and the coffee looked fantastic. Please give this place a shot if you love coffee, gaming and being in a nice place with friends. I want to see them thrive for years to come.

Tasty coffee and a selection of sodas and energy drinks for the non-coffee drinker. They also have a variety of flavors to add to your coffee if you prefer. Its an awesome set ups with board games available on the shelf and tables to play. They also sell some games including Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering Cards and Settlers Of Catan. The owners are friendly and host a huge variety of themed nights like Dungeons and Dragons and Friday Night Magic. They add any new events to their Facebook page and have been great so far at keeping it up to date. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to get a sandwich or snack and enjoy games of all varieties in a chill environment.

Coffee, Cards, and Games come together in a veritable mix of awesome at this great little gaming café. On a recent trip to visit friends in San Antonio they mentioned the Magic Bean and of course I said we had to go! Went in that day got a great cup of coffee and met the owner, who is an awesome person. The whole idea for the store/café is centered around freshly ground coffee, card and Board Games as well as game nights for various favorites like Magic the Gathering, Pathfinder Society and D&D 5th edition as well as many more. Magic Beans has a coffee bar and serves food as well. They have a small selection of sandwiches, including things like pastries, chips and other snacks. Outside food is not allowed at this time. Comfortable seating in a well lit environment adds to the welcoming vibe. They also have wifi available for the PC gaming crowd. There is a decent amount of parking I will be going back again when I’m in San Antonio and looking forward to some great gaming with friends.
