Papa Jim’s Botanica

I adore this store! Been going for years. All sorts of candles, books, sages, etc. etc. I wish I didn’t live so far. Every time I go and restock my home feels brands new and alive again. They definitely have a great thing going. Can’t wait to go back again. :)

There are some very interesting items in here for someone who is not interested in performing any «spiritual work» of the metaphysical type! My fiancé was looking for his saint charm, so we stopped in so he could show me a south side staple. I had been to the pet store next door many times since I keep reptiles (tortoises), but the Botanica was a new experience for me. Interesting to see at least once!

have been using papa jim products for 25 years since the 1990’s and this is a bad review spent thousands in the store hundred dollar orders at a time papa jim passed away is no longer with us was a great man and his products were good however the new owners are terrible and rude over priced shipping prices that are outrageous and handling fees on each and every item sometimes, just a rip off. they mailed me an E-​Lexus candle that is their most expensive candle it $ 29.97 they charged me $ 31.97 including another $ 11.90 mind you this is for ONE candle, due to the heat it came melted, it was after hours called the next day to resolve the issue, excuses customer service is closed, called for 4 days until I got someone who bashed me over the phone and blamed me for the problem, refused to resolve the issue and make refund or put in a claim with the post office and said it was my problem. there are better places on line much better now than them since papa jim is no longer with us do not use their product plus the E-​Lexus no longer works and is not prepared the same. they are over priced and now a rip off. after 25 years of being a customer one problem and they refused to fix it. the girl claiming to be the owners daughter just a hater needs to feel important. it was a simple problem which all she did was fight with me over the phone and was just an angry woman. they think they are it but not once ordered the $ 100 kit thought it was the real deal put together like idiots and did not work, it no longer the real deal, powers oils that don’t work. I use another company now but that mine and will not relieve the name. It was insured and she was so cheap and money hungry a candle that was just worth one dollar with some dressing on it, you can get a candle like that at the dollar store and dress it yourself, some formula they claim they have that does not work only if papa jim does it himself and is rolling over in his grave with these greedy people who now own this company. so another words item came damage was insured, simple problem and they were just VICIOUS after ordering from them for 25 years, first problem, well they lost me forever.

This place has just about everything you need for spiritual work! Great staff and selection of herbs, Incense and more.

I go here for all my spells, herbs, potions, tonics, aromatic bath oils, magical floor washes. Papa Jim has certainly improved my life metaphysically. They offer a wide selection of literature, that I’m pretty sure has all been plagiarized from well-​worn spell tomes. Need to cast a spell on someone? Papa Jim has the answers. Need to stop your mate from cheating? Papa Jim has the candles for the job. I LOVE all their essential oils– they have hundreds of them– it’s like cheap Bath Junkie!!! They also have oils that will help you win a court case, or make people listen to you. My floors always smell like their Magical Lucky floor wash, which gives me all the luck I need!
They also offer a fortune teller in the back, but she’s kind of loud, and you can hear other people’s fortunes if you hang out in the herb section. I hesitate to go if there are lurid details in my future that I don’t want overheard.

There are no western witchcraft/​wicca stores in town so I go to Papa Jim’s for supplies. They have a decent selection of herbs, oils, incense and candles. They have their own line of incense, oils, floor washes, bath mixes. They also sell spell kits, the folks at the counter speak excellent English and answer questions, explain the spell kits and translate labels for you (some of the herbs and spells have only Spanish labels and instructions).
They have a few Wicca items, but those are pretty overpriced, you can find much better options online. I go to Papa Jim’s for stocking up depleted supplies or emergency needs when I can’t wait for 5 – 7 days for online orders.
The oils they sell aren’t pure essential oils, but they offer extremely affordable prices and do the same job as the $ 10-​$ 15 premium essential oil. You can get a $ 4 bottle of whatever oil rather than $ 15. Great alternative for those on a budget! I have been shopping here for years and they never let me down.

This is not your normal run of the mill kind of place, but they have everything from oils, lotions, kits, herbs and everything is cheap and at a good price, quanity and quality.
If you’re looking to restock your supplies or just looking for metaphysical don’t hesitate to stop by here, its worth the drive and the hours are wonderful
