We have been to the New Orleans location and love a good Hurricane, so we ventured in. It was Happy Hour, which was an added bonus. Lives music was playing on the outdoor stage, which was great. Our waitress, Tree, was adorable and very attentive. Food was mediocre. The part that got me was the filth of the bathrooms. Not just the women’s but the men’s, too! trash cans were over flowing, toilets were backed up, toilet paper dispensers were empty and hanging open, paper towels all over the floor, just disgusting. If I was running that place, I would want to know. So, we told our waitress, Tree, so she could pass it on. A while later we went in again and nothing had changed, so we sought out the manager, thinking we would just tell him ourselves. We found him and let him know. When we visited the restrooms again a little later, STILL nothing had been done! We actually told people who work there 3 different times over a period of a couple hours and nothing was ever taken care of. Now, because it’s Pat O’Brien’s my expectations of the place as a whole were not very high, but we did enjoy the entertainment, cocktails and our waitress. However, the bathrooms and the complete disregard for their upkeep was a total deal breaker for me. We won’t be back.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. They have THUGS for security staff. Bartenders sell you drinks seconds before closing then have the nerve to have security tell you to leave. The management is terrible, yelling and screaming at customers. I’ve never experienced such terrible service. The only reason I’ll ever go back is so I can tell them in person how bad they are.

Kind of dirty, smells bad. More of a dive bar. Food was good, service mediocre. Time clock on their POS is off by 5 minutes, so happy hour ends early. Wouldn’t come back, too many other places close by.

I’m from New Orleans so this review is probably biased but this Pat O’s is hella mundane. The bouncers at the front are aggressive and really picky about which side of the stairs you enter/exit. Drinks are pricey and weak compared to the Nola location. Besides sharing a franchise name, this location does not have any of the cool, friendly, chill southern vibe. I had more fun at other bars up/down the avenue.

meh… I wouldn’t unless you are going during happy hour for drinks. We just got back from a Thursday night dinner. I had a blackened steak(although the blackening spices seemed like they had been sprinkled on, not pan seared). It was tender and tasted good, the vegetables on the side were under cooked and still hard and the jambalaya side was passable, but I expected more spice. My companions had a shrimp pasta dish(mediocre) and the trinity(three bowl sampler, two good, one bland). The drinks were at happy hour prices, $ 3, which was a deal, but flavor wise nothing special on the Cyclone, Hurricane or Skylab(? sky-something, small and blue). Seeing our waiter enough was a problem. We didn’t. I don’t know how many tables he was handling, but whatever it was, it was too many. Nice guy though! When I ordered dessert, bread pudding, I also ordered coffee, which I was told would be a while because they had none brewed. I asked for cream and sugar too. I got dessert. One of my companions did not, the waiter forgot it. Then I got my coffee. No cream, no sugar. I waited… after 10 minutes, the waiter was back and said he would have to go to the basement to get some cream, they were out. Never happened. About 25 – 30 minutes later I gave up hope, like Tom Hanks in Castaway… At least I did not have to pay for it. The live music was a bass player and singer and his guitar playing partner. No. Overall, I don’t EVER intend to come back here, alone or with my family. I assume they are making all their money off the alcohol, and I bet on the weekends this place is packed. There are SO many better places, but if you are looking to get your drink on, happy hour here might be for you.

This place is the worst. Terrible drinks. Terrible service. Bouncers are total jerks and put innocent quarterbacks in head locks just for wanting to use the rest room. DONOTEVERGOHERE!!! Remember the Frog!!!

I went to this Pat O’s a in college and again post college. My experiences have not been great. They have been full of racism and terrible service. I was recently there with a friend of a different ethnicity and he was cut off after one hurricane(his first drink of the night). I would never recommend this place to anyone. This is a trashy establishment.

This is one of three Pat O’Brien’s, the other 2 being in Orlando, and New Orleans… It reminds me of the one on Bourbon Street in that as you enter, there is a long walkway, past a bar and into a «semi-Outdoor» patio area… There was live music, «New Orleans» style, and plenty of room to sit. We were waited on immediately. great service. I had the Shrimp Gumbo… it was served with the tails attached, which, although made the dish seem more«cajuny», it was more difficult to consume, in that I had to separate and remove the tailsl as I ate… The Gumbo itself was on target, with just enough spice… I bypassed the Hurricane for the Rainbow… Great place to eat in the Plaza!!!

I liked the Pat O Briens in Louisiana better but they do have the best hurricans.

Let me start by saying the staff are good-natured, working stiffs like most of the rest of us, but the bar and patio are kinda dirty/grimy. Definitely not what I was looking for this afternoon. The«tasty» beer selection was severely lacking(only Saint Arnold selections) and not enjoyable for a Southern Californian. The best part of the bar was being outside, until the band(?) started playing and suddenly I couldn’t wait to leave. I would not EVER return to this establishment.

Updated review* The food was good as always but the service was kind of bad. the lady that was waiting on us took forever to bring our bill and when I told her I needed to have the bill split it took her another 30 minutes to bring it back and when she came back it still wasn’t even split lol oh and on top of that they were already taking my full drinks off the table before I even paid… Trying to rush me out because it was getting busy. So my previous 5 star review is now 3 stars.

Been to the original spot in New Orleans a bunch of times. They had a great Happy Hour with an awesome band. We mainly indulged in cocktails and the atmosphere was great.

Nice bar for hang out. It brings me back to beautiful New Orleans. The drink is a bit too sweet

So I must say as much fun as their hurricanes are, overall this place is a-ok in my books. One can clearly tell this is geared towards the tourist crowd of San Antonio. I’m not sure about y’all but there tends to be a distinct smell here and it’s almost as if they brought eau de Bourbon Street here. Then again this may help with the authenticity and homage to the original one in New Orleans. I by no means have any major problems with this establishment; however, there isn’t a specific wow factor for me. If you’re into live music this is a good place to hang out on their patio. For those who aren’t fond of some live music you can find rooms that feature a dueling piano duo, electronic music, and hip hop/top 40 throughout the establishment. As for pub run– I must say this is one of the better establishments out of the running path. Well running is more of an exaggerative thing for me and my friends and we usually speed walk but that’s another story. If one is seeking a spot to get inebriated at then this is the place to not remember much ultimately.

I came here back in March with some friends and I had high hopes since I’ve been to the one in New Orleans. The piano bar portion was fun and it was entertaining to listen to the performers. The hurricane is always a good cocktail and those were good as well. However, the crowd here was definitely on the very sloppy side(vomiting all over the place) and the place itself was overall fairly dirty and just isn’t my kind of scene. I would suggest coming here early in the night to try a hurricane if you’ve never had one and if you really like piano bars, but I would steer clear of here otherwise.

Maybe this not my scene anymore! This place was a dump. The bathrooms were disgusting, the bar and restaurant smelled of spilled beer, bleach and vomit. The drinks were extra strong with the cheapest liquor possible. We decided not to dine here very quickly. I won’t return.

Food was decent. My wife and I shared an O’Brien burger with fries and half a Muffaletta sandwich. Service was slow but may not be the waiter’s fault; possibly an understaffed establishment. Gal who gave us our menus worked in the bar and didn’t even acknowledge us.

This is personally one of my most favorite spots on the Riverwalk. Pat O Brien’s has it all. Food and alcohol, live music in the form of a band and a piano bar, a DJ upstairs with full dance floors, and several bars spread all over the area. The Piano Bar is my favorite, and beats Howl and Durty Nelly’s by a lot. The musicians are super good at what they do, and are quite amazing at playing the piano and singing. They are also great comedians and always make me laugh. Now I can’t say if their food is good or not because I’m not a fan of cajun and thus have never eaten here, but I come here for the nightlife — which is by far one of the better places in the area. Never a dull moment, something for everyone, and inside/outside seating.

I have yet to experience any of there food plates but as far as live music it really I pretty good. It seems that here lately they have been having plenty of it. The times I’ve been there it’s been a good busy crowd…

Good outdoor seating area with live music and great ambiance! Came here on a Saturday during the Mardi Gras weekend, the place was packed and bumping! Servers seemed overwhelmed and took forever to get anyone’s order. Other than that, the Food was okay — we had the jambalaya. The dish barely had an toppings, mostly rice.
