Pizza is good(had better). I came here with my family one day at 9:30 pm on a weekend we were getting ready to order when the cashier told us they were closing and I was like I thought you all closed at 10:30 pm which what it said on the store hours and she told me they had to close because they turned off the ovens early I was so upset because they still had 1 hour until closing time that I talked to the cook and they told me if I wanted to wait they can make us a pizza i was already upset because the cashier was being rude when I asked her a question and she was on the phone(not with a customer) that is just not how you do business they could have locked the doors if they turned off the ovens early. I came back a few days later since they turn off there ovens early I decided to come early to get pizza and it was pretty good but not the best I’ve had better.

Just had some wings and they were awful. Not flavored or marinated full of extra grease. Ranch sauce is like water. This location was good but they are not consistent and when you are not consistent then your customers will leave. I placed my last order at Ray’s. I don’t want to spend my money on inconsistent food. Up the street there are more places like this and I will give them a try

Worst cheesesteak I ever ate. You do not need to toast the roll and the lettuce was old and tasteless. The meat was unexplainable needed to be chopped. I lived on the northeast states of Jersey so I know what I’m talking about.

I got the special of a 6.99 after 3pm. In fact, I got 3 of them. The pizza is very good and the cheese is of good quality. They do sell by the slice of you desire to just try it. The only thing I wish that the pizza had, is a crunchier crust, it is chewy. That does not take away from eating there again.

Pizza. … We love coming here for pizza and maybe a little ranch too. The pizza is one of the best in town and the guy behind the counter will make the crust the way you like it. Always a great place to watch any sporting event because they have 6 TVs going all day and night.

Went balls out on the visit here. My fiancée and I ordered mozzarella sticks, wings, garlic cheese bread and a large pepperoni pizza. The $ 6.99 large after 3pm deal is phenominal. The pizza isnt quite NY style, as the crust is a little thick and not as chewy, but was still pretty good by San Antonio standards. They staggered our meal, with the mozz sticks coming out first followed by the wings, then finally the garlic cheese bread & pizza. Probably the only downside was the mozzarella sticks could have spent 2 more minutes in the fryer, as the cheese wasnt fully molten on the inside. Wings were great and cooked perfectly. They have like 7 or 8 flavors(garlic parm, mild/medium/hot, bbq + others). Garlic cheese bread was really good, it was basically like a white pizza cut into squares. Pepperoni amount on main pizza seemed only about ¾ths of what I would really want, but for $ 6.99 + $ 1.50 topping I cant complain. The interior is a neighborhood pizza shop where you order at the counter and find a seat. They had a few flat screens positioned around the perimeter that had whatever basketball games were on during our Friday night visit. Im not expecting some fancy décor when this is basically a neighborhood pizza joint. The best part of this place was the prices. Mozz Sticks 6 for $ 3.95($ 1 or $ 2 cheaper than normal with +1 stick), 10 wings for $ 7.95(ehh), small garlic cheese bread $ 4.95(great size and its basically a white pizza), $ 8.50 for 1 topping large pizza(phenomenal) Definitely worth the 10 minute drive from the overpriced Alamo Heights pizza joints. Definitely will also be back to try the sub $ 10 italian pasta/entrée specials too)

Pretty great pizza! The wait is long but well worth it! They sell by the slice as well and one will definitely do the trick! The pasta is great and there are multiple TV’s showing sports.

I ordered a Stromboli and a side salad. The price was extremely reasonable. The side salad was one of the bests I’ve ever had. Wish I had gotten a massive salad! The Italian dressing was amazing.

Ray’s pizza is another hit or miss for me. Sometimes, the pizza is good, other times not. It is not NYC-style pizza, but I have found it tasty. My main gripe about these pizzas is a big one, the cheese – it’s gooey(and very fatty/greasy) versus stringy. Often when I pay my $ 6.99 for a large pie, me thinks the low-quality ingredients maintain a healthy profit margin at this low cost. Ray’s pizza is a good value, but certainly not the best taste or thin crust pizza in SA.

Good pizza at a good price but a word of advice… sit in the back because the owner screams the order number at the top of his lungs when your order is complete. If you’re anywhere near the register you will lose your hearing. Annoying!!! Calm down man!

Great, greasy, super cheesy pizza! Extra large pizza is like only $ 12 dollars here. It’ll feed 4 – 5 people. Deserts and salads are tasty too.

Plus half a star. Prices are great. Pizza is okay. New York style… I think not. Pizza is by far thicker than any NYC pizza you can get. But as we know what makes the pizza is the sauce. The sauce here is okay. Nice flavor. Worth the price. Sadly the cheese they use is similar to a Sargento type of cheese. Very greasy when baked with little pools of oil on top. The garlic«bread». More like sauce less pizza or garlic white pizza. Actually pretty tasty. But it’s not garlic bread. Nevertheless good service and a nice place with lots of TVs. Sorry I have to be a little harsh on the rating. Mainly because of the name of the establishment. If you’re going to say NY style pizza it better be.

Great pizza, good prices on food and beer. My kids love this place. So far every pizza I have tried has been tasty. The kids meals offer large portions of spaghetti ! Unable to give 5 stars, due to dirty tables and staff slow to clean when asked

Pizza has a great taste Salads are great. The beer is always cold and there serve beer towers for groups. The menu is big from spaghetti to Alfredo to kids menu and desserts. Lunch specials and beer specials during happy hour. Could be a little cleaner… table are not cleaned in a timely manner.

Really good pizza and. the philly cheesesteak and fries were awesome. They also had a pretty good lunch special, 2 slices and a drink for $ 6 and these slices are huge, good flavors and very filling. Cherry is the amazing choc chip cookies they have at the register!

I finally tried Ray’s Pizzaria(sic) and in terms of authenticity to a typical slice of New York pizza, this is the best I’ve had in San Antonio. It seems a lot of the criticism of this place is not because it isn’t authentic but because people don’t have a clue what authentic NY style pizza is. NY pizza is big BIG slices, scant toppings(usually one), and yes, grease. The crust isn’t crispy and crunchy but pliable — ya gotta fold it! Now, Grimaldi’s does a fine pizza and you’ll get pizza just like that in NYC but the real pizza eaten and beloved by New Yorkers is what you’ll find at Ray’s! It’s the pizza you eat when you just pop-in to a neighborhood pizzeria for a quick bite instead of ordering an entire pie from a sit-down restaurant. Ray’s has huge slices of very flavorful pizza with just the right amount of grease. Their lunch special #1($ 5.99) comes with two HUGE slices and a soda(free refills). They also have other lunch options with something called salad but who knows what that stuff is… I mean, you go to a pizzeria to have pizza not a frickin’ salad! The slices are one topping each, your choice. I went with the Italian sausage and a slice of pepperoni — the classics. Each element of the pizza was not the best — the sausage itself wasn’t the best, nor the pepperoni, but all of them together produced that genuine NYC pizza slice So, if you’re looking for a quick and very filling lunch that won’t break the bank(#1 special with tax is $ 6.44), Ray’s will sort you out. If you have an aversion to grease then stay away because ray’s doesn’t deserve your criticism about grease! You’ve been warned! And authentic NYC paisan pizzerias, HAVEGREASE!

Pizza rolls. I’m addicted. 4 giant pizza rolls with cheese & pepperoni… delicious flaky crust… only $ 4.50. Bargain! The salads are crunchy & fresh… all come with garbanzo beans, nice touch! The cooks in the kitchen look like they should be cast on Jersey Shore… New Jersey Italian American style. They mak
