Alright, since I have now visited Ricky’s 20 times, I think it’s safe to safe I am well aware of their offerings. Their bean and cheese tacos are on point and not made from lard! I think it’s a soy bean base, so that’s a plus. Also, their carne asada is tender, juicy and quite flavorful — make sure to get it with the cilantro and onions; even though, there is an up charge for that. Now, you may think to yourself, ‘if everything is so great, then why only a four star rating?’ Because they always, ALWAYS short me out on atleast one salsa container. They say they provide one salsa per taco, but whenever I order 8 tacos, I will receive 7 salsas — 6 tacos last night, 5 salsas. I don’t want to have to ration my friggin’ condiments! Then, I called them out once and they acted like this has never, ever happened. Customer service is key, no matter what. Great tacos, though.

Ricky’s tacos are the best, on Thursdays the burritos are $ 6.50 specials. Everything on their menu is true ethnic Mexican food. The whole family works there and they want to give you a good experience that will keep you coming to them.

These are the BEST street tacos I have EVER had. Every meat is SOGOOD(chicken is my favorite). Tortillas are warm and soft, toppings are EXCELLENT. It’s just the best street taco place like in the whole world. Really though. Everyone we’ve brought here would have gone back the next 5 nights in a row. There’s no seating because it’s a truck, but as you sit in your rental van and eat in a cramped space, you just DON’T CARE. Because the taste makes you forget everything but the beauty of the tacos and the wonderful creation of cows and chickens and the man Ricky himself. If you like anything with tortillas and meat, go here and you will not be disappointed. WARNING– if it is RAINING, they are probably closed. Because they are a food truck. Otherwise go!!! Please!!! P. S. I know this review sounds silly but seriously I mean every word haha. Love doing reviews!

The chicken and beef mini tacos are amazing! We also tried a huge burrito(can’t remember the name) but it was great!

The steak tacos were really great and the service was really fast. The bean and cheese wasn’t the greatest and I was really unsure of where to park my car.

Pretty amazing. I can see why this place had a line at 11pm despite all of the road construction making it a tough place to get to. The street tacos were delicious.

I LOVE this place. Shout out to Mr. Ricky! It’s JOY. :-) From 2012 – 2013 during my time at UTSA I would frequent this taco truck at least 2 – 3 times a week for a year. Now, this was also before they got super popular. I miss the days I could just walk up to Mr. Ricky and order my 4 mini tacos carne asada w/cilantro and onion(you have to get onion). Throw in that green verde salsa and you got yourself a mouth party. The carne asada is jam packed with spices. Once you had a beer or three the salty goodness is a perfect way to end your night. Service: 3⁄5 The lines are crazy now. last time I was at the location it took almost 35 minutes to get my order :-( Food: 5⁄5

Ok lets be honest! Ricky’s has one of the most amazing street tacos! I’ve been going to Ricky’s for years now! Even when I didn’t live in SA, I would make it a point to visit when I was in town! Their mini carne asada tacos and pastor are some of the best! I only love the corn tortilla tacos, the flour ones aren’t as great, but that could be a personal preference. Ricky’s sauces are so tasty as well. I enjoy both the green and red. I took away a star because of the wait. Sometimes the wait will be over 30 minutes which is a bit excessive for street tacos but of course I always wait it out. If you’re in SA, this truck is a place you must try! Late night tacos never tasted so good!!!

Great for those that crave diarrhea in the early morning following a street food experience. Used to be great tacos back in the day, but the last few times I have gone in the past 6 months, I have been disappointed and/or left with some(lets say) internal distress. No more ricky’s

I have just recently started getting into street food such as mini tacos and this place spoiled me with deliciousness. The menu is small but of course that is expected with any food truck. My favorite meal is the Al Pastor mini tacos, they’re never dry and they’re perfectly seasoned. And don’t forget to grab some tomatillo sauce(the green hot sauce). I highly recommend this food truck to any taco lovers.

Since we moved to this side of town last May I have wanted to try this places. It is always busy and the reviews are good. However, this weekend when I tried it I was a little disappointed. The tacos were okay but the tortillas were not fresh and they did not put much meat in the tacos. Both my boyfriend and my stomachs hurt the next day as well. It might have been an off night, but I was not impressed by this place.

Love their food! I’ve been a HUGE Ricky’s fan for years. The quality and quantity of their food is wonderful. They have the best late-night tacos in the area.

These are some of the best tacos in San Antonio! You have to go late though! It’s family owned and they definitely cook it up…

Ricky is from my wife’s home state in Mexico(Guanajuato), and these tacos always transport us back to central Mexico. They are delicious, the best street tacos we’ve had this side of the border. I’m always tempted to get some on Wed nights(5 for the price of 4). They are right around the corner from our house but I’d drive quite a ways to eat there. I prefer the beef mini tacos with the red salsa, and everything on them(cilantro, onion, cheese, lime, and a dash of salt!).

Food is good but service is pretty bad. Better experience around the corner at little taco house.

I always get the asada street tacos with avocado and salsa verde. They advertise three tacos, but I always get four. Since one of them is sometimes a little smaller I figured they’re making three and just wrapping their benevolent miscalculation up for me. It’s half a pound of carne asada, onions, cilantro, cheese, avocado, limes, and salsa for $ 7. I approve.

Normally I like this place Except tonight they were OVER charging people and hoping that they would not notice. I bought a quesadilla and was charged twice: $ 5.50AND $ 55.50!!! Right away I noticed and I told them that they need to give me my money back! They finally gave me my money and I told everyone in line to check their bank statements. Another guy was over charged $ 90.00! They also charged my friends $ 16.00 for a quesadilla and taco. Ridiculous!!! After they noticed that we were angry and caught on to their scam of over charging us, they said that they were closed for the night. I will never go back to this place again. If you eat here, make sure you check your receipts very closely.

The best tacos I’ve ever had! I am from the northeast and have never been a fan of Mexican food. Since my move to the south I have slowly been converted by taco salad, enchiladas and breakfast tacos. But still, not a huge fan. Enter Ricky’s tacos. After a night of drinking and dancing, my group ended up at Ricky’s to order a ridiculous amount of carne asada tacos. After some silly banter with Ricky about the best item in the food truck,(he claimed it was himself, haha) I decided to try the tacos that my friends were ordering in bulk. Paired with salsa verde, they proceeded to blow my mind. I craved them for days! Knowing that food can be deceivingly good after a long night of shenanigans, I was nervous to try Ricky’s in the light of day(read sober). I had nothing to fear! Every time I have gone the steak has been tender, there has been an appropriate amount of cheese and cilantro, and the salsa verde-YUM-the perfect accompaniment. After 2 tacos I am completely satisfied but they are so good that I often cannot resist a third which sends me into a happy food coma. My mouth is watering while I write this review! My only complaint is that the hours listed on Unilocal are not always correct and their phone number appears to be disconnected.
