Rolando’s Super Taco No 2

Rolando’s was at one point rated the highest taco joint in town, so my wife and I gave it a try. It did not disappoint.
The super tacos are huge, but they are what you come there for. We went for breakfast and their carne guisada is amazing. I’m a fan of bean and cheese tacos, they are delicious here. This place is always buzzing and parking is not easy to find, but it’s worth a stop. Even in the early morning the place is packed, but they are staffed with many waiters/​waitresses, so getting help is not difficult.
Definitely a favorite in this city.

Great tacos and they are definitely big! The Carne guisada with cheese is a must try. The restaurant is somewhat small so it gets crowded pretty fast on the weekends.

Party of 40 in and out unless than 45 minutes. Great tacos. Huge tacos. Good veggie and great chicken.

This was the perfect stop for lunch after visiting Mission San Jose in San Antonio Texas. Portion size on some food items are large enough for two people. Pricing is great. #4 puffy tacos and tortilla chicken soup small were just right size medium hungry person. If your visiting the missions this is great lunch place.

Made the mistake of ordering two «small» tacos. The carne guisada was really good I added cheese of course. The potato and egg was ok. I had to take them to go. I wonder what the super taco looks like. These are big enough to feed a whole family. The tortillas are home made and the coffee was fresh. I would definitely come back.

Not as good as I remember. The food was bland and the tacos weren’t all that they were cracked up to be. I might try it again but probably not with all the good food that is around here.

Rolandos is THE place to go if you are a foodie like myself and love lots of food and little/​decent prices. All of their food I have ever gotten were FRESH. And the best breakfast taco EVA is bigger than my face, and it only cost $ 7.99.it’s called the El Gigante and it comes in super taco size where you can choose 5 ingredients, with up to 3 meats. On the glorious taco the eggs are made to order, they pile the ingredients and never leave you wanting more. Rolandos is DELICIOUS!!! Also try the carne guidada=mmmmmmmmm!
You will also appreciate knowing the owner of the resturaunt is always hustling and bustling as cook, cashier, and greeter. Just a great family place.

Not a fan of this place food is to salty eggs are always overcooked.. I have not found a plate that I like. Yes they have super tacos that are horrible. The service is really good but the food is not good.

I’m happy to say that they are once again the best place in town for cheese enchiladas. I returned yesterday and everything was spot on perfect as the way I remember. Glad that you are back, not that I’d ever give up on you completely.

At first I thought this place would be just a big gimmick with their giant tortillas, but the food was actually DELICIOUS. Authenic Mexican that tastes amazing!
I only ordered a small vegetarian taco, while the rest of my table ordered super tacos and combination plates. My taco was filled with rice, potato, and avocado. It was SO GOOD! Everything from the rice to the tortilla to the potato was just amazing. My entire table of 6 left raving — hooray! Oh — and did I mention the extremely reasonable (aka cheap) prices?!
It’s about a 20 minute drive from our house, but I will definitely go again — and it’s a great place to bring visitors if you plan on hitting up the mission trail! It’s only 2 miles from Mission San Jose!

Huge taco for $ 3.25. This location is so much better than the other. Everything tastes fresh, way less greasy. And $ 3.25 for this! I won’t eat the rest of the day!

It’s a small mom and pop type restaurant (which I love) no «taco hell» type BS here. The food is fresh, amazing, and authentic. The staff is always willing to answer questions, super helpful, and my server remembered me from my first visit. Can’t wait to visit more often, there is a second location but this one is the only one I’ve been to.

Don’t go to any other Rolando’s in town, this is the one you want to go to!
I usually get the vegetarian taco without cheese (vegan) and it’s always on point. The staff is very very friendly and so is the owner.
Delicious food, huuuuge quantity, great prices. Definitely a place to take out of towers to blow them away with super tacos.

If I could give this zero stars I would. This place is nasty, the food is ugly, the restaurant is ugly, and also the customers that eat here are nasty. The tacos have hairs in them. Gross!

If you are fond of Menudo then this is for you; the Menudo is excelent! But do remember, as far as portions go, it’s not a bowel, it’s a bucket! Portions here are huge, if you are not hungry then go somewhere else because a large taco is like folding a family size piZa in half! Awesome!

I have been coming to Rolando’s Tacos #2 since 1994 and it has never disappointed me. If i loved to Oklahoma, i would drive down for some Rolando’s. Keep it up!

Pretty tasty food here and quick service. At about 1pm there was a 5 minute wait for a table. The hostess took our drink order right away and when the waitress gave us the drinks and some chips and salsa, we placed the order. About 10 minutes later, my enchiladas mole and my husband’s carne guisada small tacos were ready. These tacos are not small, but they are compared to the super ones that are the size of a plate.
The enchiladas were made with dark chicken meat, which I thought was tasty. I’m sure others may or may not feel the same.
We both ended up only finishing about half of our meal. The chips and salsa were a little different, the salsa was hot and more of a soup.
After dining, you pay at the counter and then apply tip to the payment. I would say overall, the meal was tasty and the price not too bad. $ 7 – 9 was the price of most entrees.

Have been to store number two and loves it. This store is not nearly as good. Disappointed.

This is a must stop for any true Mexican taco lover in San Antonio! I was not so smart and ordered two super tacos and was in for a big surprise when the food arrived. The restaurant is pretty small but plenty of room to park. The waiting staff was nice and friendly and I would recommend everyone to stop by this place!

If your hungry and are in need of a good size tasting taco this is the place to visit. The place might be a bit run down but it delivers in taste and sure knows how to kill an appetite. The chips that go with the salsa are not that great but what matters is you want to save enough room in that stomach of yours for the tacos or plates that you are about to come face to face. All in all it is a good place to come out to eat some breakfast or even the lunch specials that they offer.

Listen folks, I have been coming here FOR YEARS!!! I knew what a «super taco» was before I knew the alphabet! Seriously!
This place is bumping especially early in the mornings (7am — 11am) and even more so at lunch too! You cannot beat the size of these super tacos nor the price! Ask anyone dining here.
There is an early bird special for those awake and up and at it before 9am. A Super taco (limited selections) will be less than $ 3 with a tea! Ask your waitress about the special if you are an early riser.
Any of the plates, like Huevos Rancheros, will come with 1 super tortilla (same as used for the super tacos) so be sure to tackle that first since you don’t want to miss out on the homemade goodness of a tortilla that is waaaaay bigger than the size of your face!
I recommend splitting a super taco with someone you are with. My sister and I are notorious for asking for our super taco to be cut in half. She’ll get a carne guisada and I will get a potato & egg. We split it and share! You get best of both worlds and you will leave satisfied.

My go to taco at any taco establishment would be potato, rice, and guacamole. And nothing sets that taco off like a little bit of rolandos salsa verde and some salt on the avocado.
If you’re thinking about going to the other rolandos on hildebrand, I would not suggest it. Their super taco is the size of the SMALL taco at this location and the quality and taste if the food is not even remotely close to as good at this one. Right down the street from mission San Jose (the best one) and street gear (the only place to get Ben Davis clothing in SA) what more could you want??? Not satisfied? Take your taco stuffed self to the pica pica indoor flea market and buy a stripper piñata for only $ 30 (fake pole included!)… And remember that this is all around the biggest and best taco joint in town!
