This place is lit!!! Totally recommend 100%. Great sushi and stuff but the people there are hella great. EVERYTIME I come to San Antonio I come here. This place is so rad it’s great!!!

This is 2^nd time here in Sake Café in 1 week. We loved it the first time. We love this restaurant, period. The food tastes great! Fresh always. They have the bento boxes. The meat as many as the noodles! Prices? Not bad at all! This will be our to go to Japanese resto from now on.

Says there open until 10, but last night I called at 9:15 asking if I could put in a to go order for a single item the girl rudely replied «we’re closed, bye» and hung up. Don’t advertise that you stay open late if you’re going to be rude and turn down customers. 0 stars.

Second visit to this restaurant. Both visits had us smiling. The service was excellent. My tea never depleted, as there was someone to top it off 4 times during my meal. The place saw a constant flow of people,. Wasn’t pacjed, but as some left, new customers kept arriving. That says a lot about the food.
Our meals came in an appropriate time frame, and were excellent. Nicely presented, and appropriately garnished. We have become a bit picky with our sushi, admittedly, but this place didn’t disappoint.
I do recommend this place as a hidden gem of a restaurant, not flashy, but very comfortable and with excellent service. The prices are excellent, the food excellent, and the service was perfect.

Going on six years of having sushi once a week at sake café. Still awesome. Highly recommended.

I’ve been eating Sake Café for about 6 years now! They have a great menu, great prices, great happy hour and they deliver whenever I’m at work and can’t make it in! I also enjoy the atmosphere and especially love that the servers remember me!

The food was delicious and inexpensive. The staff was very attentive and friendly. It’s great for kids and big groups, just call ahead for big groups.

Love this place! A hidden gem for great sushi. Try the seared garlic ahi tuna, it’s awesome! A good variety on the menu, never too busy, great service.

I recommend the sashimi and sushi combo. It comes with an 8pc roll of your choice, thick slices of sashimi, and 5pc of sushi. The sashimi tasted fresh delicious. I ordered the House Roll, so good!
The best part is there is happy hour everyday of the week. I find that quite rare here in SA.

I love this place! the service inside is great and so is the delivery service. my fiancé and I have been going here for years. The food is always very fresh and hot! even when we get delivery. it’s always our go-​to place to order from on a lazy sunday :)

Service was a bit lacking even though there were many people available during our visit. The fish was not as fresh but suitable for consumption. The price does not reflect the combination of poor service and quality of food.

The food was okay however the service was so bad that I decided I needed to create a Unilocal account just to write a review.
First off it was just my boyfriend and I, when we came in we were greeted — not at the door but I’m the back right corner near the waitress station. We were pointed to sit in a booth and we did. We ordered two sushi rolls and chicken fried rice. The sushi rolls came out fairly quick and we were surprised but happy. We finished both within 10 minutes and the rice plate still haven’t came out.
We decided while we wait that we would get a dessert that they had pictured sitting on the table. We asked for it and waited another 20 minutes for the rice to come out. After finishing the plate the waitress came to clear the table and didn’t bother to ask us anything. Maybe 5 minutes later she came back and asked for the picture of the dessert because «it’s not usually ordered and the chef forgot what was in it» that right there should of been a sign for us to cancel but since we decided to be kind and waited another 10 minutes.
After another 5 minutes we hear the waitress speak their language and the word «desserts» slips a few times. Thinking that they are working on it we wait but decided to ask for the check thinking it would speed up the process — it didn’t. She brought the check back and asked if we still needed the deserts and if we wanted to wait cause he hasn’t started it. Mind you it’s early evening and it was not peak dinner time. We were there along with 3 other small party tables and got horrible service.

We got the Delicato Roll, Love Roll and Jalapeño Poppers and ate it ALL. I guarantee you’ve never had poppers like this. Hurt so good.

The sake café is my favorite place to get sushi in SA. The food is great, it’s a nice quiet spot, and the staff are amazing. My family and I go there so often that I they know us by name and will even decorate our plates with our names for a special touch. The sushi is so fresh and delicious! I’ve tried several of their rolls and haven’t been disappointed yet. Before I knew of this location I would dine at sushi zushi to get my sushi fix, but since finding the sake café, I haven’t returned to SZ because the food here is much more authentic, better priced, and more delicious!

Ordered delivery around 12:31pm and waited for an hour to call them inquiring where our order of two appetizers, unagi bento, and beef fried rice was. They said he would be here any minute cause he had left 20 minutes ago (it was 1:31when we called) and he didn’t get to us until 1:45.
My unagi was cold, the side salad was swimming in juice and everything else was sweating from sitting in the car for 40 minutes. I had to microwave the entire plate just to make sure it was out of the «temperature danger zone» and suitable to eat as I have a compromised immune system.
My boyfriends rice was relatively warm still but none of it was anything special. What we ordered wasn’t fancy or expected to have layers of flavor and detail but, what we did order, was fairly bland.

Great sushi! Good specials. They have one roll with fried crawfish on top and it’s delicious.

I mainly use Sake Café for their delivery service. They have great prices, good food, and are extremely speedy with their delivery.
The lunch specials are really well priced. I usually like to get a chicken teriyaki box which comes with rice, vegetables, 4 piece california roll, salad, and miso soup. It’s priced at about $ 7.50 and everything makes the cut.

Our family has been frequenting Sake Café since 2005. We’ve been here countless times (the staff recognize my girls!). So, I’m not sure why it’s taken me this long to review it. My daughters almost exclusively order the sushi, esposa the yakisoba dishes, and I try to mix things up. Everything, yes EVERYTHING here is good: soup, salad, entrees, and dessert. The staff are friendly and attentive, but at times a bit slow. They sometimes don’t time the dishes well, so the sushi often gets served well before the hot entrees. The hot green tea is superb. Prices are reasonable. OVERALL: EXCELLENT. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Stopped in for sushi the other day and it was amazing!
The place was a little busy and there was only one server but you would have never known because she was attentive and on top of it.
We ordered the 2 rolls and 2 entrées plus edemame. Way too much food but we boxed up the leftovers.
Everything was fresh and delicious. The price was reasonable and I can’t wait to go back!

Alright, I’ll admit one thing — I was initially a little hesitant in trying this place out, but with Zain B.‘s suggestion, I thought, «why not?»
…And I’ve got to say, I’m a fan! Great lunchtime spot with good sushi and awesome service. Two thumbs up!
Three things that I’ve tried and absolutely loved: Chicken yakisoba bento box, volcano roll and delicato roll. The bento box is a lunchtime speak, and if comes with miso soup, salad, a spring roll, 4 pieces of California roll and chicken (you pick the meat) yakisoba. Great deal, and this was some of the best yakisoba I’ve ever had. Also, very fresh! The rolls were just as delicious.
I’ll tell you what makes the experience even better, though. The people. The times I’ve come here, I’ve been greeted with joy and excitement, and after my first time, I didn’t even need to tell them my order! Somehow, they remembered. We’ve chosen to sit at the sushi bar both times, and our new and now good friend and sushi chef Naunu (sp?) always sparks up the best conversations, makes sure we have all the necessities (Sriracha and all!) and, last, but not the least, makes me the most beautiful cucumber flowers. Such a nice fella!
So, yes. Food = A! Service = A+++!
