Customer Service at this location is terrible. The girls that work here all look like they just rolled out of bed. It’s unfortunate that this place is not better managed.

Where else do you go for doughnuts in San Antonio… GUESSWHAT? NOWHERE!!! Shipley is always on point, Always fresh to death and killin it in the doughnut game. Ive never had a bad exspirence. The only bad thing for ME is, due to the incredibly kind people at work we buy from Shipley 4 days a week… which means I may need to curve my addiction a bit.

After reading the other reviews I can tell that whoever runs this Shipleys doesn’t care. The girl that works the drive through is rude and unprofessional. After she asked what I wanted in a rude tone she turned her back to me as I ordered and scoffed when I asked for a coffee. I won’t be going there until they remove her from a job she doesn’t deserve.

My only issue with this place is the service. It takes too long to get people thru the drive-thru(which is the point of the drive thru) and they should really implement an order-taking system BEFORE the window. That way when people, with no common sense, place huge orders thru the drive-thru you’re not just finding out about it and trying to prepare it at the window and making everyone else wait in excess of 30 minutes(and yes, this actually did happen). Also, stop letting your kids run the window. They don’t listen well and they’re part of the problem when we’re talking about order speed and accuracy and they don’t even look like they’re the legal age to actually work.

I was shocked by how horrible the service was here. I pull up through the drive thru and I can here one employee yelling at another through the window. She had a horrible attitude and was being extremely rude to me. Then the doughnuts were less than appetizing. I can definitely say I will never go back there again. I would rather drive farther for better service and food.

Great donut shop, beats all the rest. It is delicious, it has good customer service. This is a great place.

Consistent and available. This chain of stores helps me to handle my DD-less town. This specific location has never disappointed me — the cake donuts are nice and warm with a perfect crusted outside. Perfect for dunking in coffee according to the hubster… I am a more traditionalist and enjoy mine with manners. Affordable — right around $ 10 for a dozen yummy treats! This location has easy access to the freeway, plenty of parking and a drive through.

I love me a Shipley donut. They have a wide variety of donuts. My favorite is the powder sugar. It’s messy but I don’t mind. Sugar raised a second favorite. We usually visit the location on Bitters as it is open late. This location is closer to us, clean and friendly staff.

Closest Shipley to my house, but won’t be back. Our last visit was using the drive-thru, first question I always ask regardless of location is: Do you have kolaches? No matter which flavor, they are great, and popular and usually run out. The girl said yes, so we ordered 2 ham and cheese, 2 sausage and cheese. When we got to the window, she corrected and said they were making sausage and cheese and it would be about 5 to 10 minutes. Love the kolaches, so worth the wait, I said okay. She directed me to park and it would be brought to the car. 15 minutes and at least 4 cars later, no acknowledgement. When I went in, the kids working were more focused on getting their chores done, wasn’t acknowledge for at least 5 minutes! When one of the girls asked what I needed, I explained it had been at least 20 minutes that I had been waiting on 2 kolaches. She then asked the guy in the back how much longer? He said it would be another 15 minutes. Needless to say I was livid, one thing that gets to me is lack of communication between employees. The kicker was the girl at the counter didn’t apologize but simply asked if I wanted my money back. Would recommend if they hire kids they need to train them on courtesy and communication, major disappointment.

Best doughnuts in San Antonio — hands down. As an all-around lover of anything doughnut, I’ve put away my fair share of fried dough. I grew up eating them from the Albertson’s bakery and I’ve had more doughnuts from HEB than I care to think about. I’ll admit I was super excited when Krispy Kreme came to down a few years back but I was a bit disappointed by their doughnuts. Don’t get me wrong — their doughnuts are delicious. If you get them while they’re still warm they practically melt in your mouth. But they’re just too sweet for me. They’re so sweet, in fact, that I can only eat one at a time. And even then I feel like I need a shot of insulin to make it through the day. My other problem with them is that they’re made by a machine. There’s something about an irregularly-shaped, obviously hand-made doughnut that appeals to me. Maybe it’s that ‘homemade’ look that just appeals to me, I’m not sure. Shipley’s gets my vote every time. Their doughnuts taste fresh, they’re not overly sweet, and their dough has a deliciously evil amount of chewiness. I’m not sure about this but the staff appears to be related — the elderly woman who helps me at the counter is super sweet and reminds me of my late grandmother. This doesn’t have a lot to do with their doughnuts, but the courtesy of their staff definitely makes an impact on my experience. So give them a shot, you won’t regret it. I challenge you to find a better Cinnamon Twist in town.

It’s a Shipley’s. Good service and products. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Shipley’s to San Antonians is what Dunkin Donuts is to Bostonians. They are the safe donut. You know what you are getting yourself into with the kolaches and the regular sugar donut. While I can heffer down about 12 Krispie Kremes, if anyone asks, I would rather go to Shipley’s. I feel that the service there is far better and the donut quality is much more than any other place in San Antonio. Now since I am on a diet, I normally just pick off the leftover crumbs that the kids throw my way, but after a long race — Shipley’s is one of the first places I think of to satisfy my craving of sugar, spice, and everything unhealthy.

I always enjoy a stop at Shipley’s donuts. I think the donuts are the best in town. The taste is beyond the sugared flavored yeast bread you get from Krispy Kreme. When you bite into a Shipley’s donut you get the fix you need for your sugar craving. A fix that is not imitated all day over and over again. Because, Shipley’s is not like Krispy Kreme and make there donuts all day till 11pm. If they did you obviously would not get the great tasting product that you get from them. The donuts are great, but the real reason we stop here on our way to church are the sausage and ham kolaches. It’s like a freshly hand made hot pocket, which makes a great snack morning or afternoon. Overall I gave 5 because I think they make a better donut then Krispy Kreme, and the kolaches rock.
