Went on Fathers Day with a group of 6. I ordered the salmon. Everyone else got their food and I encouraged them to go ahead and eat as I felt mine would be served soon. WRONG! After everyone finished their meal and wanted to depart, mine still had not been served. The waiter said mine had caught fire and was being redone. Finally, we flagged down a manager who apologized and promptly brought my entrée with a promise of desert on the house. Three of us did order desert and when we got the bill, we were charged for 2 of them and told we would only get one desert on the house for the entire table!(Not what the manager indicated.) Also, I was charged for my veggies which was a substitute for dirty rice. When I ordered there was no mention of being charged for a substitute. Overall, we were there for hours just for Fathers Day dinner! Apparently making a few extra bucks is more important here than good customer service. I should have just cancelled my dinner and stopped at McDonalds on the way home! Henceforth, I will go to Wildfish Seafood Restaurant for good service and good food and skip this overpriced, under service restaurant.

I have been wanting to try this place for sometime. I always see it off of the 1604 freeway. I finally got an opportunity to stop by. The atmosphere was ok, I didn’t really get a Louisiana feel. Other than the painting on the wall which was pretty neat. As far as the food, I got the blackened catfish with white rice and jambalaya. In my opinion the food wasn’t seasoned at at all. When I think of creole cuisine, I think seasoning and a bit of spice. The deserts were also mediocre. My friend had the Mississippi mud pie and that was good, I had the crème Brûlée and it was mediocre. The service was also mediocre. So overall I would say it Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either.

If I could leave less than a 1 star I honestly would. Went in tonight at 9:10 with my husband after reading good reviews online. The hostess looked annoyed that we were in that late, even though the restaurant didn’t close until 10. She sat us, and we waited ten minutes for service until we left. During this time, we saw the server walk around the restaurant(which was extremely slow) three times, look at us, and even blow his nose in an old napkin left at a table. After that, we were so mortified that we got up and left.

Two separate visits in a short time frame! I like what I like! Blackened Redfish pierre the first visit — Blackened Redfish Ayla the second time. Each time the fish was supreme! I asked for a healthy alternative to the brown butter sauce, and the chef utilized infused olive oil! No loss of favor! amazingly savory! Chef even steamed Moses vegetable and ensured the veggie at were bursting with flavor too! The warm bread they bring to the table with the amazing pesto sauce is so good you have to try to avoid pouring it over everything! Customer service was beyond expectations at each visit! Highly highly recommend!!!

I came here to have dinner to celebrate my birthday on a Tuesday evening. The place was relatively empty and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was attentive and our orders were filled promptly. The fried alligator and blackened catfish are amazing. I plan on coming here more often for dinner.

Our visits here have always been a bit of a paradox for us, with great standout dishes and big disappointments, and tonight was no exception. We started with the shrimp bisque that had really good flavor that would have been much better with a little bit of good quality wild shrimp instead of a lot of poor shrimp. We sent the Caesar salad back because it inexplicably had no flavor in the house made dressing(fortunately our waiter Alfonso gladly took it off our bill). My red fish with Diablo sauce was a little over cooked, but the sauce made it a great tasting dish, and it was extra spicy as ordered. My wife had grilled scallops in a brown sauce with capers and crispy onions, and the scallops were perfectly grilled, but the sauce must have been poured over the onions because they were not crispy. The lights are too bright for a place that could have such a cool atmosphere and it is a little loud for our taste. I wish management would do more to make the wait staff more successful here by having them taste at least the most important parts of this vast menu so they could convey the flavors to their guests. They always make me feel like they could be great, but always let me down a little.

Would not come back. The Red Fish was a tiny portion and the rice was dry and bland. Definitely have experienced much better cajun food.

Uhhhhh-maaaze-innggg ! ! There’s no other word to describe it. We went on a Saturday to try their food and it was spectacular. Our waiter was courteous and very friendly. They start you with a pesto oil sauce and fresh bread, very good. We got the frog legs to start, they came with 6 which is 1 – 2 more than what pappadeauxs gives in their appetizers. They are served in this butter lemon sauce that was superb. I got the fried catfish with a side of spinach. My boyfriend got the bourbon street shrimp. My catfish was fried perfectly, was very juicy and it was 2 huge filets. The shrimp and sauce my boyfriend got was beyond great again. I didn’t try the dirty rice that he got but he said it was great. We got crème brule for dessert and it also was very delicious. Nothing to complain about at this restaurant but that it is too far for me to drive to eat all of the time ! !

Wow, great food. Great service. Came here March 29, 2016. Juan was my waiter. We don’t get good Cajun food like this in Cali. Fried alligator, blackened catfish and crawfish etouffe… awesome.

Beautiful setting, incredible view of the river walk. We were walking down the Riverwalk and passed this place. What a gem! Beautiful view overlooking the river walk but elevated enough to get the breeze. Incredible happy hour with excellent value. We had the bourbon street shrimp, mini shrimp fondue, and the crabcake. All were outstanding. Margaritas and well drinks were discounted, and you did not need to sit at the bar for the happy hour. Happy hour runs 4 to 7 daily. Attentive wait staff, and after eating our three appetizers we were quite satisfied.

Great seafood place! Oysters on half-shell were plump and fresh. Calamari was soft and juicy, not dry on the inside. Mussels Mariniere(mussels in a spicy white wine, lemon & butter sauce) was a hit together with the freshly made garlic bread. Everything I ate was so good! Our waiter, Al, was also very nice. Even had the garlic bread made because it doesn’t normally come with the mussels.

Tired this place for the first time last night and was not disappointed. We wanted Cajun food to celebrate Fat Tuesday. The restaurant had a feel of New Orleans. I had the red beans and rice that had chunks of sausage in it. It was the best red beans and rice I’ve ever had and I’ve had red beans in New Orleans. The waitstaff was very good and attentive. If you like Cajun food then you definitely need to try this place.

Attentive waitstaff, unfortunately serving mediocre food. Oysters Edward, cooled by the time they were served Spinach Seafood Salad, hard pieces of tail and shrimp shell bits, long stems on spinach leaves Mahi Mahi Florentine, covered with a sauce that could have been inspiring when paired with a properly prepared fish… our fish was over cooked + 1 drink from the bar = $ 69 bill If I’d had my way, only 20% of that drink/food total bill should’ve gone towards the food. The remainder of the payment should’ve been handed over to our waiter

This is a nicely decorated, Louisiana styled seafood restaurant with excellent service. The three things I look for when dining out are(1) quality of food(2) ambiance and(3) service. The trifecta of qualities was met in this restaurant. The food is beautifully presented and is of very high quality. The fish is fresh and delicious, perfectly prepared with delicious accompanying sauces. The jambalaya is excellent and after reading the reviews, I asked if the chef could BAM! add a little kick to it. He did and it was great. I tasted the gumbo and the flavor was excellent and the portion was just right. Also sampled the pasta with scallops. Yum! The desserts were so good even after a full meal. The baked Alaska is good for a change. Not something we order too frequently. The cakes are moist and delicious. My son swooned over the bread pudding. Highly recommended.

The last time I ate at Bourbon St. Seafood Kitchen was at the Boerne location many many years ago. I was not sure what to expect coming to this location years later. However — Great food, great location right off of 1604, and semi-reasonable prices. I ate the Shrimp & Crawfish gumbo, with a side of Dirty Rice. Both items were delicious. Alex B. was the bartender that helped me out when I was there and he was polite and attentive. Overall, a pleasant, brief lunch experience.

We’ve come here multiple times now as it is right down the road; never disappoints! Bartenders are attentive and drinks are good; we always sit at the bar BUT the restaurant itself is classy. They sometimes have live music too(a bit kitsch but welcome on a busy night.) You cant go wrong with menu, pretty much because everything is drowned in a fantastic butter sauce(sub. Olive oil if you want). I recommend a starter of oysters. The bread and pesto dipping sauce is in itself a delectable meal. This a repeat spot for us for certain!
