My brisket noodle bowl was the bomb, and I liked everything about it. My vegetarian friend was less impressed with his veggie bahn mi though — for about the same price it just didn’t have much substance and really didn’t even compare to my entrée, so he was a bit disappointed. So pretty much I’d say if you’re vegetarian it might not be the best, but if you aren’t it’s really great.

Maybe I came on a bad night because all of the reviews say that this place is amazing. I got my food rather quickly and took it home only to realize that my wings had no sauce or flavor to them whatsoever. Mind you they were deceptively beautifully cooked. I also ordered a brisket banh mi that I could tell once I opened it was burnt because all I could smell was something burnt. I tried to eat it anyway because I had had a long day and looked forward to my first experience with these guys. The wings were edible but my sandwich couldnt be stomached because burnt bread makes everything taste burnt. I was sadly disappointed.

90% of my reviews are rants about how terrible places are. Not this time. I moved temporarily to San Antonio from Houston and Singh’s has become a staple for Sunday evening for my wife and I. This is probably the 10th week straight I have eaten here on Sunday evening with usually another trip mid week when it is too late and we are too tired to cook for ourselves. Everything on the menu is excellent. Don’t be scared if they are out of something. Anything else will open your eyes and taste buds to another amazing dish served from this trailer. We have been to the best Asian restaurants in the US and Asia, and I would rather eat at Singh’s than any of those places. And everyone that works there is super friendly. And there is great beer across the street where you can bring your food to eat. Who cares about the Spurs, I’m gonna get headshots of the cooks at Singh’s on the back window of my truck!

Typical food truck experience, awesome food! This is a Texan’s spin on S. Vietnam dishes. The brisket and rice is amazing! The brisket is so tender you can cut it with a fork! If you’re looking for a unique spin on Vietnamese food, this is the spot! Bonus — there’s plenty of seating! They share the picnic area with an adjacent restaurant =]

Best banh mi I have ever had. Step your game up Dallas and Houston. It’s Vietnamese with a twist but still keeps the essence of Vietnamese cuisine. Definitely will be coming back

My boyfriend & I ventured out to this food truck going solely off of Unilocal reviews. I wasn’t sure what to order because there were so many«must haves» from the reviews. When we walked up we asked the owners what we should get. Their recommendations didn’t disappoint. I wish I would have snapped a picture of the food, but we dove in too fast. I couldn’t even tell you all what we ordered, but it was absolutely spectacular. The night before we ate at what was supposed to be a «nice Italian dinner» and it was absolutely terrible – we were joking how a food truck was the best thing we ate all weekend in San Antonio. The menu has thought, the food has soul & the spot has character. We walked across the street and ate at a cute patio and devoured our lunch. Wish Houston had a Singhs. :)

WHATTOORDER: Any bahn mi!!! Omg, definitely one of the best food trucks in SA! This is the place to eat if you are craving some delicious traditional and non-traditional bahn mi’s and noodle bowls! Cannot rave about this place enough! FOOD: BAHNMI’s: They have many types of meat here — pork, brisket, shrimp, and recently they just got rid of oyster which is such a shame! I’ve only had the brisket and shrimp here and they are both superb! The brisket is so good — incredibly tender and every bite is packed full of flavor! A very original twist on the bahn mi and I highly recommend trying it. The shrimp is also pretty good! — lightly breaded and crispy — the shrimp is plentiful and every bite there is a lot of shrimp meat so they definitely do not skimp here! NOODLEBOWLS: I’ve had their noodle bowl with shrimp here which is also very good — there is a good ratio of noodle to the amount of shrimp and vegetables they give you. My annoyance with some vermicelli bowls is that they give way more noodle than meat but this place creates a great balance! SUGGESTION: If you like more spicy, then get some of the chili oil(not sriracha) and put it on the inside if your sandwich. So delicious! PRICE: Around ~10 which is pricier than most bahn mi’s by $ 2 but I will forgive the price since this is a food truck and they truly make delicious sandwiches! Mmm! PARKING/SITTING: Off the side of the highway and plenty of street parking in front of the truck! A couple of tables in front to eat at as well! I always take my food to go though.

DEEEELICIOUS. Food: Any and all of the Banh Mi’s are phenomenal. The oyster was my favorite, but I recently found out they don’t make that anymore and I’m absolutely heartbroken over it(it is possible that my delivery driver from Postmates misunderstood so I will confirm this next time I visit). It was truly unique and something I haven’t found at any vietnamese restaurant in town. The good news is that the shrimp and the tender 10 hour brisket banh mis are also superb. Ask for the chili oil on the side if you’re into spicy, it’s great when drizzled on lightly. Don’t over do it though because it’s pretty potent and will take away from the flavors of the banh mi itself. I believe they use a toasted mexican bolillo instead of a regular baguette, and I personally love this because it’s so much crispier and brings us back to the whole asian-southern fusion theme. The vermicelli noodle bowels(bun) is also great; however, I think the banh mi is what really stands out here, so if you’re a first timer I definitely recommend starting with that and working your way through the menu. Price: $ 10 for banh mi which is slightly pricier than the standard vietnamese restaurant; but I would rather pay 2 extra bucks for the higher quality food and unique fusion flavors. Appetizers are $ 4-$ 8, main dishes $ 8-$ 10, and specials $ 9-$ 10. Hours: Open Tuesday-Sunday for lunch(11:30−2) and dinner(5 – 11) Locations: Usually parked outside the Hills and Dales bar. If there is a long line and wait for the food, you can go grab a beer/drink at the bar and they will text you when your order is ready! They also deliver the food at the bar if you wish to eat inside.

I got the sandwich with pork. The meat was delicious, especially mixed with the flavors of the sandwich. A more traditional bread(a little crisper/toasted) would of probably made my review a 5 start. The bread is almost like fusion trying to be like a Texas toast of some sort. There is also a lemon fix drink they make that was perfect for the sunny day.

5 stars for the Banh mi, but I would rate my overall experience a 4.5. I took away a ½ point because they were out of brisket and pulled pork. Also they seemed short handed so the wait was kind of long. Other than those nitpickings, the food was fantastic! Very fresh and the bread was perfect. I will definitely return. Also this is a to-go type food truck, there aren’t seats or picnic tables to stay and eat.

We got the brisket banh mi as everyone recommended and it was so worth it. The bread was crispy, the vegetables were sweet tasting. And the brisket wasn’t dry and there was so much meat. I couldn’t finish the whole sandwich but my bf who usually can eat two banh mis was full off of one of these. Will definitely come back to try the other food on the menu.

This is all a matter of preference but from the perspective of a Vietnam-born gal, this food is not Vietnamese but it’s good. I went to Singhs on a Thursday night and was happy to report only one couple was in front of me. I placed an order at the window and browsed the menu options from Buddha Belly Burgers truck right next to Singhs. Apparently both places are owned by the same guys. Our food took a good 15 minutes to come out. I guess they were making other people’s foods and making everything fresh so that’s cool. I ordered the brisket banh mi and Singhs wings and my friend ordered the rice noodles(bun) and fried shrimp goi. I love how everything was plated. For food truck guys, they really care about making good looking food. they also covered everything for us with a ton of foil and offered siracha and chili oil in small containers to go. The guys were super nice too. I asked them a lot of questions about their business and they kindly responded. In terms of the food — it’s not authentic. It is unlike any Vietnamese food my mom makes. The banh mi was pretty good but the bread just seemed wrong. I mean it was good and buttery but I like traditional French baguettes for my banh mi. The filling was awesome though. Unilocalers are always right, the brisket was bomb. I loved how tender it was and the flavor was wonderful. I wish it was spicier for sure. The wings I liked. They were crispy and well seasoned but I wish they were spicier. The shrimp goi was really good too. the shrimp were fat and crispy and the goi very refreshing. The creamy goi is definitely not authentic but it was good. My friend’s bun was pretty good as well. The meat was well seasoned and the noodles were cooked well. In general, I liked the food but if no one told me, I would not have said«Vietnamese» in a blind-fold taste test. I also think it is a little pricey for what it is but I do think these guys use very high quality ingredients. I will probably come back if I am ever craving fusion Vietnamese.

I live so close to this foodtruck and seen it a million times, but never actually tried it until recently. I believe it’s a Vietnamese Texas bar-be-que fusion. My sister and I arrived here around 6pm on a Wednesday. I was expecting our food to take 45 minutes to prepare, but surprisingly, it was only about a 15 minute wait. We ordered the chili oil ribs, the 10-hour brisket bahn mi, and the noodle bowl with pulled pork. The meat for all our items were prepared excellently; that’s what made the meal. The brisket was moist and the pulled pork was soft and came in a generous portion. I’m not an expert on bahn mis, but I thought the bread was soft and accompanied by the right portion of carrots and cucumbers. I would love to try their fried oysters next time. Overall, it’s a good place for dinner to-go. Make sure you check the hours of operation. I would return for the pricing and the convenience of distance.

After trying Singhs for the first time about a week ago, it’s definitely something I see myself craving over and over while I’m in San Antonio. The aroma you smell coming from food truck is divine/addictive. I debated on whether to give Singhs 4 stars, but I think it’s a 5 star place in San Antonio and a 4 star place if you compare it to Vietnamese you’ve had in bigger cities. The Vietnamese food in San Antonio is pretty subpar and Singhs offers some unique items. The flavors at Singhs are pretty spot on although some items would benefit from being executed a little better. This is probably the only Vietnamese restaurant in SA that I’d visit more than once a month, so I guess thats saying a lot haha. This is one of the few good options around the UTSA /La Cantera area for tasty, casual, relatively affordable food. If you are looking for decent Asian food around UTSA this might be the only option. If you are looking for a bowl of phở, don’t come here! They don’t serve it. Fine with me though because even the best bowls of phở don’t satisfy me too much. I’m more of a bun girl when it comes to Vietnamese food. Singhs isn’t the most authentic Vietnamese food, but it’s pretty tasty and I’d opt for the Tex-Viet hybrid food here any day than food from most of the Vietnamese restaurants in San Antonio. The Vietnamese food here is more of a Vietnamese fusion with a Texan flare. They have a good variety of food here and have a variety of meat(chicken, pork, brisket, ribs, shrimp, wings). The nitty gritty on the food: QUICKTIP: The brisket is TODIEFOR(the best I’ve had) and I think what they do best here. It’s fork tender, has a nice outer crisp, and is bursting with flavor. A MUSTTRY! Wings: not the best executed. The flavor was unique and still very tasty, but I wish the wings were prepared to have crispier skin. The skin wasn’t that crispy and the wings were a bit oily. The flavor was pretty good though and the wings are super juicy; I’d still probably order it again if I’m craving wings. 10-hr brisket bahn mi: My fiancé’s favorite here. The brisket here is tender, delicious and flavorful. The bahn mi as a whole works well together although it could use a tad bit more veggies. The bread is good, but not a standout. Still I’d order this again. Don’t expect to pay $ 3 – 5 for a bahn mi here like you might in bigger/more diverse cities. The bahn mi here is $ 8. Chicken bun: Best bun I’ve had in San Antonio. The quality of the meat to choose from really elevates the bun here compared to other places. The chicken isn’t grilled like most Vietnamese places, so I guess it’s not that authentic. I think they fry the chicken here. The chicken is juicy and flavorful but doesn’t have that typical Vietnamese grilled flavor. The noodles and freshness/amount of veggies are pretty solid here. I wish they sliced the cucumbers into thin slices though instead of leaving it in chunks. The egg rolls that come with the bun aren’t special at all though. Overall, the bun here looks more appealing and tastes fresher than what I’ve had in San Antonio Vietnamese restaurants. It’s a little pricey at $ 9 though. 10-hr brisket fried rice: Brisket makes the fried rice. Everything else is just kind of there. The rice is flavorful, fresh, and well balanced in seasoning. It’s not really special I’d say, but it’s become my go to dish at Singhs. I thought the cucumbers and pickled carrots on the side were a bit out of place though, but the pickled flavor adds another dimension of flavor to the rice. Crispy Shrimp Goi: Flavorful and unique, but the shrimp could still be a little crispier. The sort of veggie slaw goes well with the sauces. Overall, the food at Singhs is a solid, fresh, relatively affordable casual fast food option in San Antonio. I know I’ll be craving it, so I’ll be back over and over again while I’m here. The wait is usually about 15 minutes for your food, so don’t come here if you are in too much of a rush.

This is the vest Vietnamese food we’ve had outside of Vietnam. I was so impressed by the guys who run this truck– they were so knowledgeable about the food that they carry and its origin. Try the specials that they have– it’s what was the most impressive of their offerings.

Located right across the street from the«Center of the Universe»(Hills’ and Dale’s) this place has an awesome aroma that comes wafting into the bar whenever someone has their food delivered from Singhs. I have only had their Bahn Mi but I must say it was INCREDIBLE! Very good location for those who get the munchies after a few beers. The only thing dropping them one star was the length of time it took me to get my food. It was 45 minutes. I am cutting them some slack because that was over six months ago and I hope they have it worked out by now. I will try them again soon and update my review — I promise! :)

They call it «Mom’s cooking» with a twist, and this is definitely true. The folks over at Singh’s have a passion for staying true to their Vietnamese roots while also providing a new taste for San Antonio. Located near the UTSA area off of Babcock and 1604, Singh’s is the perfect food truck for any occasion. I went with a couple of friends on a wet, cold day, and we got the brisket banh mi, the traditional grilled pork banh mi, and the chicken wings. WOW. First off, the process of receiving your food isn’t the fastest, but that’s because they make it fresh! They ask you for your cell phone number, and will text you when your order is ready. This was especially helpful for us as it was FREEZING outside. Once we got our food, we were stunned. The brisket in the banh mi had been marinated for so long that the flavors were instantly made known once the meat touched your mouth. While the cube-shape isn’t traditionally how people are familiar with brisket, the dry-aging they put it through comes out when you take a bite. Definitely would recommend. The grilled pork was also great! It had more of a traditional taste with hints of lemongrass, but was marinated and cooked to perfection. Not too tough, and not too chewy, the texture was perfect and the flavors were bold. At $ 7, the chicken wings were probably the most underwhelming part of the meal. Beware: they’re spicy! I’m not especially sensitive to heat, but these had a very distinct kick that overpowered my banh mi just a bit… so that’s something to think about if you get them. However, you do get ~7 pieces in an order, so it’s something worth trying if you’re with a group! If you’re in the Fiesta Texas/UTSA area, I would definitely recommend checking these guys out. They have plans to expand the property they’re on(and own!!) into a brick and mortar store one day, and i’m excited to eat there whenever that happens!

Um, I love this joint! And how brilliant are they parking outside of a bar every day? Genius! Brande M. & I started off our«first date» by mowing through a few beers at Hills & Dale’s. Every now & then, I’d feel this panic rising that Singh’s would close down & I’d miss it… I kept gawking over at it like a stalker… what if they ran out of Bahn Mi? Yeah, I’m not a worry wart in life, by any means, but I was THAT much looking forward to stuffing my face at Singh’s, mkay? Anyway, at last we walk up to order… the guys in the truck were good, friendly, fun times. They laughed WITH us, not AT us. Cause we’re funny. Not buzzed. Yeah. I can’t tell you much about the menu cause my semi-drunk eyes zoomed in immediately on the menu portion with Bahn Mi, Brisket Fried Rice, & the Bun Vermicelli bowl. I also happened to notice that you can choose any of the following meats with any menu item: pork, chicken, crispy shrimp, or brisket. I declared our order to Brande M.(sorry about that, hot stuff, I was decisive!); she kindly accepted. We ordered the pork bahn mi, brisket fried rice, & crispy shrimp bun bowl. After we order, I get a jazzy text that my order will be out in 30 min or so… oooh, techy! Food truck guy tells me I’ll get a text when it’s ready, too, then we can come pick up our order. Nah, he walked it over to us at Hills & Dale’s. We TORE it up… the bahn mi was yummy(I still prefer my honky bahn mi, for those of you familiar with it/my reviews), the brisket fried rice was BOMB, the crispy shrimp bun bowl was ok but I am decidedly OBSESSED with the bun bowl at Asian Cuisine & Phở… I’m sorry, Singh’s, yours didn’t hold a candle. BUT, the shrimp was big, crunchy, & delish. TIP: Take me & Brande M. with you; we’re a barrel of monkeys. P. S. Miss you already, Brande M.

My husband & I had been looking forward to trying this place for a long time. We finally made it out here with some friends. But our overall experience was mixed. We came on a Sunday right at opening because we had read that they tend to run out of things. Went to order & …no ribs :/. Y’all just opened! So how could you have run out already??? Annoying… But we ordered other things: chicken wings, shrimp on goi, oyster on goi, fried rice with beef, egg rolls, oyster banh mi, pork banh mi, & brisket banh mi. The brisket was very tender & flavorful and was the clear winner of the day. I wasn’t fond of the soft bread nor the mayo in my banh mi. But it was still a good sandwich. There was also mayo in the goi, which was an unpleasant surprise for me. I only expect goi to have nuoc mam(fish sauce)…not nuoc mam & mayo. While sampling everything else, I kept thinking, «I’ve had better.» The good: –Flavorful brisket –The veggies on the banh mi were fresh. The pickles had a nice balance of sweet & sour. –The oysters & shrimp were perfectly breaded & fried. Good flavor. –The egg rolls were also perfectly fried. Golden brown & crispy. –Hills & Dales Ice House is across the street and allows us to bring in food. The bad: –Chicken wings were really one note(salty) & not crispy nor spicy even though I could see jalapeños on them. –Egg roll filling had mostly glass noodles & was bland. –The MAYO — ugh! I like mayo, but not with Asian food. –Took over an HOUR to get our food! It wasn’t even busy. Not sure why it took so long. The ugly: The thing that annoyed me the most though was when staff decided to sub our pork banh mi with chicken banh mi WITHOUTASKING. Not cool! We did head across the street to Hills & Dales Ice House after placing our order. BUT… we gave Singhs my cell number. They could have called/texted me when they realized that they were out of pork. But no… they just assumed chicken would be an acceptable substitute. SMH… Never EVER make assumptions about what a customer wants to eat, Singhs… especially THIS customer! To their credit, Singh’s staff gave us a $ 5 voucher for our next visit to make up for their faux pas. So we’ll be back!
